  1. I'm so sorry that you have anxiety attacks. I have them really bad, too. When I started BPAL I was using Moxie (most of my attacks are in the day) and that helped. High John, the Chesire Cat that have been mentioned above also work, mainly the citrus helps. I also second Sleepy Moon (If you are having trouble finding it please PM me). My biggest suggestion is to find your favorite scent, and use that. Nothing works better for me than masculine, metallic scents, but I'm weird. I do think you will notice a difference though, when you start using your own personal favorites. My own personal experience, when I started using aromatherapy mixed with meditation and calming exercises, I stopped having to be hospitalized for the attacks. I'm not saying that is a guarantee but it really does help. Good luck!

    Yankee Candle to BPAL

Midsummer's Night is actually based off of Drakkar (I used to work for Yankee). The closest thing to that in BPAL, and better in my opinion, is Vicomte de Valmont. My boy even will wear it, and he won't wear anything other than his tried and true store bought colognes. Hope that helps, Midsummer's Night is my favorite candle also

Olfactory caffeine: Wake up, Stay Awake with BPAL

I'm going to have to add to the Moxie support. I used that and Detox when I was quitting caffine, and that was easiest withdrawl I have gone through. Also I am working 72 hour shifts now and it helps me stay awake through that without caffine. I made some into a lotion so the scent last longer and when it fades I just put on more lotion. Galen - If you are worried about the ginger note reacting bad on you, try a scent locket, but I will add that to me the ginger not is very far in the background and the citrus and pepper overpower it.
  4. Keep in mind that what works on some people doesn't always work on you. These oils don't have the scent stablizer that most commercial perfumes have, so they react with your body chemistry. I for one can't wear anything vanilla since it turns rancid and is ampped up. My guy likes anything metallic since it compliments what he wears. My suggestion is to try all kinds of scents and find one that you like and your friends like then try it out on your guy. Good luck, getting those black pants
  5. Ok, first of all, thanks again for all the recommendations, especially Torrilin for the long list (sorry, going through search engine completely slipped my mind, thank you for doing all of that!) My mother and I sat down with the head nurse of my sister's group home and decided to start off with Oneiroi and Ephermera sice both of those scents can be linked to me or my mother and could be linked to comfort scents for my sister. I emailed the lab to make sure and once I get the go ahead from them we are going to start doing this. Thank you all again.
  6. Wow, thanks for all the responses! Thank you all so much for the well wishes and recomendations. I will be emailing the lab with a check on the scents that everyone suggested. Thankfully, I currently have half of the Somnus blends in my current stash. Wench457 - I hadn't thought of a scent locket because my sister is very much like a two year old and tends to try to rip anything that is around her neck. But the idea still lingers and since she can wear bracelets I think I might search the scent locket thread for something for braclets. Thanks for the idea! Red_Hot_Mama - Thank you for the link, I am still doing my research and hadn't seen any of those. They are a great help!!! I want to say an overall thank you to this community, which is by far the most caring and helpful community that I have ever been a part of
  7. Hello all, (Mods, if this is the wrong place please move it to the right one, I wasn't sure) I was looking for some recommendations for any scents that would help with the reduction of seizures. Some quick background, my sister has severe cerebral palsy and epilepsy and has since birth. When she was three days old she had her first seizure and the doctors gave her a total of two years to live. She will be turning 25 on Saturday but the seizures have gotten worse. She has them more often and for longer periods of time (her average seizure lasts between five and fifteen minutes). Also, due to the CP, her muscles are becoming too weak to deal with the stress of the seizures and she will go into respitory arrest within minutes of the beginning of the seizure. She is on several anti-seizure medications and after much discussion we decided to look into complementary therapy (on top of the meds that she is on). I have done research and found that any oils that have rosemary, sage, hyssop, fennel, wormwood, camphor or evening primrose in them trigger seizures so those our out of the picture. The main oils that I have found to work for seizure reduction are ylang ylang camomile, lavender, rose geranium and jasime. I also read that the third eye chakra oils are good for reducing seizures. I was wondering if anyone knew of any oils that might be good for this in the BPAL collecction (everything smells better with BPAL). The oils will be used in lotions or with a carrier oil, because we are unsure of the effects on her sensitive skin and she can't have a diffuser because of the flame. Any help would be apprieciated. Thanks

    Job Interview Recommendations

Ok, this technically isn't a job interview but how I am percieved depends on whether I get a job or not so I am putting this here, if I should move it please let me know. I am attending the Game Developers Conference next week. It is an all week confernce that is as much for networking with industry professionals as it is for the new technology. The goal that everyone has been telling me is to stand out as much as possible, be unique and above all make sure they remember you. Since I am going to be in the 10% female population I am probably going to stand out. I am wondering for any suggestions on perfume (I am going for an entire week so as many recommendations as possible are welcome), this will include seminars, bars and parties. I am already wearing dresses and skirts which are about girly as I can get, so I would perfer gender neutral or masculine scents, since those work best with me. Any help would be appriciated, thanks.

    CCNow Questions & Problems

Ok, my paranoia is getting the better of me, so I have to ask this. Has anyone had a problem with the lab not harvesting their CCNow order. I ordered on Jan 31st and it still hasn't been harvested. I normally wouldn't worry except the lab is now shipping for orders placed on the 27th. Should I just wait or should I email the lab?
  11. I've been going through alot lately too. The two that I have been using the most is High John and Moxie and they seem to be helping. I have also been using Nuclear Winter at night cause the mint seems to help me calm down. Good luck with everything you are going through and I hope things get better soon.

    Lucy's Kiss

In the bottle: Floral with a bite, almost like a spring garden with an undertone of evil. On: Turned instantly in to fancy guest soap on me, but not in a bad way. Slowly rose started to peek out at me. I can even smell the stems of the rose. Good amount of throw. Later: The soap smell is gone and now all I can think of is walking through a rose show. That is the only way I know how to describe it. The rose is very light, not headachy. I don’t smell any of the spices though. Overall: Ok, I have been very scared of trying any rose scents because most commercial rose perfumes make me sick and I am not big on florals to begin with but I think Beth have converted me on the first try. This is a true rose, light but demanding. I don’t think I will buy a big bottle but I will definitely finish off the imp. I must have my mom try this one since the rose used is identical to one in her garden. Rating: 3 1/2

    If you like Pina Coladas

This could be just a skin chemistry thing, but anything with lotus in it turns straight to Pina Colada on me

    Scents to help quit vices

Ok, quick update on the scents. For anyone quitting caffine I highly suggest Moxie (thank you sooooo much Wench457 for the imp) It really helps wih the cut back and the headaches did not seem to be really bad when I had it on. I had alot of bad things happen in the past couple of weeks so I have had a temporary relapse but I am getting back on track today. I'm ordering a bottle of Moxie and a bottle of Detox so I will let everyone know how Detox works with the quitting also. I really want to thank everyone for their support, with everything that has been going on you all have been the only real support that I have had and it really means alot to me.

    Scents to help quit vices

Thanks for the suggestion, luckily I live right next to a Teavanna and am addicted to their roobios orange and very berry tea (both non caffinated). That actually has helped me cut back alot on the caffine. I did my first BPAL order before I realized I had to quit (hopefully something in that order will help too, I'll keep you posted when I get it) and I am taking all of the suggestions here and making up my second order. I do have some LUSH that has bergamont in it but I guess it is so small it hasn't really done anything for me yet. Many thanks too all of you for the support and suggestions.
