  1. Chaos Theory XLIX (via Finny, with whom I swapped)

Sweet, lightly melon aquatic.. followed by a light sandalwood background (that seems to come and go very quickly) that's adding a tiny bit of warmth and oomph to this scent. The flowers are shy and never reveal enough to overwhelm the aquatic notes. It's a very coy blend that stays close to the skin, even in the summer heat.

    I love this.. I'm keeping it. :P

    Previously reviewed by Finny.

  2. Chaos Theory II CI

I love the purple label :P

Sharply menthol, and mint with cedar and pine notes settling in toward the end... it was just as I feared, a scent that seems to be masculine and sharp, even if it does mellow after an hour or two.

I've swapped with Finny for something more feminine :D

  3. Lemon and honey.. this is almost exactly the tea I used to make myself with a fresh-squeezed lemon in hot water with honey, very sharp and clearing.

The honey and lavender come out later and make it over all a very nice scent, but I adore the lab's citrus scents anyway.

I'm contemplating a bottle purchase.. need to see if I can scrounge up the cash. :P

Overall: very good if you like lemon and honey.

  4. Cherry coke, rum and heavy incense. This is a very interesting blend. Totally wearable, but dark and masculine. Perhaps too masculine for me, and way too dark to suit my boyfriends taste. It was nice to try but.. it's just not me. Off to the swaps.

  5. Inspired by and created for my beloved Tedwin: my eternal, beautiful, wicked Dorian Gray. Refined, elegant, and lovely, with a noble bearing and seemingly gentle air. This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.

I went to Black Broom recently and this was an instant bottle purchase.

It's so far the only overtly creamy scent that has worked for me. I think it's the strong vanilla and tea notes, they add this beautiful layer to the scent that I just adore. The sugar is not too strong in the least, I love it! Sweet but completely wearable. Yum, instant favorite.

  6. Mi Go Brain Canister

This is a very beautiful scent, fruity and creamy with a little bit of floral. I love the wet juicy stage when I first apply it, and wish it would last longer. I have to slather pretty heavily with this scent for it to stick around for the first few hours. I only get a tiny bit of pepper, but that's enough here, it shouldn't overpower the scent. It seems to fade pretty fast on me.. which is sad, because it's so pretty.

I think I'll keep it, despite it's rather short life. The first stage is worth it.

And the little squishy brain is so cute!

  7. Bright, fresh ozone, and more ozone. This scent is almost overwhelming in that it's so strong and although not neccessarily 'clean' smelling in terms of a freshly cleaned item, it's more the 'clean' that the cleaning industry loves, the kind of clean that slaps you on the face with freshness.

I like it... but I had to tame it down with Cold Moon, it's too strong for me, even with the littlest of dabs.

I'll think about swapping it or not. Maybe I'll grow to like it more.

  8. I swapped with a wonderful formite to get an imp of Beltane and I'm glad I did.

The scent was a strong floral in the imp and once applied to the skin my impression was of fresh blossoms, there was something similar to the Apple Blossom single-note I have pure and sweet with a hint of nectar. As the scent aged the green notes became much more pronounced. I can understand the connection between this green and the green in Water of Notre Dame, it's like that but overlaid with spring flowers. As WoND is one of my favorite scents I must say this is very nice.

It's a lovely spring scent, and although I didn't catch it in time to order a bottle, I'm glad to have an imp of it.

  9. I got Nine Mysteries in a swap,

It is beautiful mint, with the slight touch of flowers. I really like this scent, but unfortunately it only lasts a few hours on me. I like the idea of mint as a perfume, I really do, but... in practice it comes closer to being a very sweet smelling walking breath-mint.

I have a feeling I'll only use this imp when I really feel like it, most likely when I have the opportunity to enjoy it all on my own.

  10. Wet, the top-note is pure sugary blossoms. As it dries a touch of something spicy like cinammon finds it's way in. I had to wear this mutliple times to be sure the spice smelled like that. I wasn't expecting spice, honestly, so it was a suprise to wear. Within an hour the spice takes over and the blossoms have nearly disappeared.

I like the beginning phase, but the drydown is not me, even if I do so love hummingbirds.

  11. The perfected winter rose, dew covered and freshly cut.

I recieved an imp of this some time ago, but I haven't reviewed it yet.

This is the perfect rose. Not too sweet, and not too strong, the green note beautifully balances the rose. It makes this scent wearable and unique.

Added: Unfortunately for all it's beauty, it has a short life-span on my skin. I guess the chemistry is just wrong for me...

  12. Soft and sweet and... strange? Lovely, but it doesn't feel right on me. For some reason it's just not my thing, I love the icy blends (Cold Moon is heaven) but I guess snow doesn't appeal to me.

This blend is a bit too creamy (must be the coconut note) for my tastes. I swapped for an imp here so I'm kind of glad that I didn't get a bottle, it just isn't up my alley. I'm glad that so many others enjoy it though, because it is lovely, in its own way.

  13. Grandmother of Ghosts -

Soft peppery woods, it's a unique and lovely scent. What more can I say about this that hasn't already been said? The first couple times that I wore this one of my male co-workers began hovering and complimenting me on my job, randomly. He's not interested in women, but he was certainly drawn by the scent.

This may be upgraded to a 5ml fairly soon, it's very pretty and beautifully neutral.

  14. I can only add to what the others have said about Endymion. It is gorgeous. It's light and softly fruit and floral at the same time. This is a summertime fragrance, and I'm very happy that I've had the opportunity to try it. I may order a bottle for someone as a present, it's really a good introduction to the lovelyness that is BPAL.

  15. Sex in a bottle... so long as it's on my boyfriend. I can see where it can be compared to OldSpice but that mint note sets it into a whole other category. The mint comes out strongly on me and I can't see myself wearing this, I've already got a perfume for those nights I want to smell smokey and sexy, but I will be giving it to the bf as part of his birthday present and I'll insist he wears it. :P If he really likes it I'll buy a 5ml for him, it's so sexy.

    Squee!

  16. I applied this oil to my wrists and the base of my spine, and it's an interesting scent. It's a bit dark when first applied, but after a little bit of time it morphs into something much warmer and nice. I did a little bit of yoga and slipped into bed and the warmth of this scent put me right out. I slept very well, better than I have in the last few days.

I got this as a freebie in my last order and had already ordered another imp. I'll definetly be keeping them both, it's a very good scent, a keeper. :P
