  1. in the bottle, PQ reminds me of Jack, which is expected, but it scares me a little. Pumpkin tends to smell like smelly candles on my skin, but I was hoping that the other elements would balance it out.

On my skin it goes ultra-spicy with the buttery pumpkin hanging out in the background. The cardamom stands out A LOT. It's actually really nice, but it takes a minute to get used to.

Definitely softens up a bit on drydown.

  2. I love the old formulation of 13, so I was hoping that this one would work on me. In the bottle and wet, it smells just like the description.

As it dries, it gets a little weird. It turns to a sort of unpleasent smell, and it's the same one that the MonsterBaits turned into on my skin.

I might give this one a go again in a month or two, but it's probably headed to the swap pile.

  3. Midway is all cotton candy on me for the first ten minutes or so. then the sugary, buttery bits come out.

I have a lot of trouble with other bpal food scents like jack, hellcat and the monster baits, so I am very pleased that I LOVE this.

  4. chocolatey with some green undertones. strangely, almost like pickle juice, and yet, it's not bad. weird.

in the first stages of drydown, the pickles go away and start to morph into something lightly floral/incensey. oooo, here comes the honey!

It ends up being soft and dry like cocoa powder and dried fruits. really delicious.

  5. very clean and green, but at the same time, empty and dusty. I see where people say it smells like clean laundry out on the line, but it's in the middle of autumn, where the clothes are cold when they come in. crumpled leaves, clean clothes.

  6. Imperial violet softened by wisteria and chrysanthemum, but edged with the regal iciness of delphinium.

floral soap. most floral blends go soapy on my skin, but this one is special. It strongly reminds me of some pleasant childhood memory, that I can't really recall.

Not something I'd wear for myself, but I would definitely keep the imp just for sniffing purposes.

    Very clean, very spring.

  7. ANISE hello!

but also, chocolate soap? am I crazy?

kind of sweet and swampy at the same time...

I'm not terribly familiar with civet or vetiver, as notes I can pick out for myself, so I couldn't tell you how close to the front they are.

It's a mossy Christmas cookie, this one, very foreboding, just as you should expect something that eats babies would.

  8. right away, herbal sandalwood.

The lavender, which always amps to hell on my skin is battling with the sandalwood and tobacco to come out. It's a bloody fight, indeed.

Not at all for me, but I will admit that none of the major notes, expect to ever work on my skin.

  9. In the imp: sweet crushed raspberries/blackberries.

On skin: softening berries, with a dusty hint, probably the sage. I can smell the same green tea that's in Shanghai, but this is sexier, sweeter....

It fades kind of fast on me, but it is really pretty. Very summery.

  10. Right away I smell a boozy blackberry. No cocoa from the red velvet that I was expecting, but I do get the 'cat pee' response that some people are getting.

Neither of the Monster Baits worked on me, but I'm hoping that when I try them at another time of the month, I'll love them.

If not, off to the swap pile.

  11. In the bottle: delightfully foodie, creamy.

On skin: something awful comes right to the front. maybe it's the cassia, but it is overwhelmingly strong and is actually making me nauseous. it's like chemical cookies.

I'm really disappointed in this because I wanted to like it so much.

I get no coconuts or angels.

  12. bloodlust is not something I would have tried on my own, so when a friend gifted me with an imp, I was hesitant to try it. patchouli, red musk, they're not usually things that go well on me.

wet it smells like almonds and a woody note.

it gets drier and drier and the cinnamon really comes out on my skin. like stale red hots, but in a good way.

I get a lot of compliments wearing this, but I'm not sure it's a scent that I associate with me.

    Very sexy though.

  13. I'm not sure that I've ever smelled myrrh by itself, so that may be what I'm getting out of this blend. People have described myrrh as being 'sticky' and I can see how this scent could take on that adjective.

What I can pick out is a strong amount of wine and something sour underneath it. I can't smell any honey or flowers.

  14. this was a frimp from the lab and one that I really wanted to try.

At first I really smell the sassafras but then the nutmeg comes out 10x as strong and it makes it smell like plastic or rubber.

This is a no-go for me.
