  1. Hooray! I heart the Caterpillar. It smells almost exactly like Lush's Tramp to me, which I had been seeking for quite some time.

Actually, it smells bigger than Tramp, if that makes sense. It has more oomph and more green. The oakmoss and patchouli seem to be dominant, and this is one of the few jasmine scents where the jasmine doesn't take over entirely.

    I'm in love.

  2. When I heard this smelled like watermelon, I couldn't imagine it. Now I can! It smells indeed very pink, and less watery than I expected something named for Yemaya to be. It isn't the watermelon of pure candy, but a rich, berrylike, maybe slightly slightly carnation-y, soothing blend.

  3. I normally really don't like mint very much in my perfumes, but I love love love Ellegua. Lalisa was awesome and sent me a bottle from BlackBroom and I'm forever indebted!

It's mint on top, all right, but there's this swirl of incense and booze and spice underneath it. Ellegua is said to like corn, candy, and rum, and I don't smell corn in this at all (thankfully!) but there's yummy candyness, and crystalline mint, and a nice trippy boozyness.

  4. Black Cat reminds me of Water of Notre Dame in the same clean, white floral-sort of notes to it, with a little more herbalness. It's hard for me to pick out notes beyond that and I haven't tried it for magickal workings yet, so that's as good as this review gets.

  5. Vixen is very strong, very syrupy, and very sweet. While I like all the notes in it, somehow they're too heady for me to really want to keep around on my skin all day. The ginger and patchouli really amp up the orange so that it's not a kid's creamsicle scent, but one with more vavoom. I think this would be good to wear in a sweaty, smoky club where it wouldn't overpower.

  6. Yeah! *cheer*

This was one I couldn't stop sniffing after I swiped on the imp. The leather works really well to anchor the rose so it's not as sweet as Rose Red, but the rose is a nice wet one like in Rose Red, not dusty like in London.

  7. Black Phoenix actually reminded me a lot of Hecate, which I'm guessing is the wet-almond smell. It smelled fruitier that Hecate, but very sweet and warm and wet and nutty. The cherries come to life more as the scent goes on, but it's generally glowing almond.

  8. On first sniff, I wasn't sure how I felt. I think I was too busy taking it in to really think about my actual reaction.

The wine and the gritty, dirty, herby notes are present at the same time. It's not like one dies down and the other pops up, at least not on my skin. Instead, the wine is just there, this sexy, boozy swaying of blood-red over top the commanding desolation of the green-black.

I put it on, and for some reason decided promptly to do a lot of sit ups, and couldn't stop sniffing it.

  9. The Moon feels very, very feminine to me. It's subtle, but has staying power. The jasmine really comes out, and there's a bit of lavendar, but I don't know what else.

It's a very comforting scent. Good for quiet times.

  10. I have to confess that I really didn't like Ophelia when I first tried it. It smelled like peach Jolly Ranchers to me. I went back, though, and tried it again, with much better success.

It's a floral that has a lot of staying power, sweet and wistful, but aquatic enough that I didn't feel like I was just wearing blossoms.

It's good for a day when you feel a little bashful and shy, but also feminine and a somewhat mysterious.

  11. I was really excited by Jailbait, based on the concept, the name, and the description.

It's very bubble-gum and candy like, but it didn't change much on my skin. It stayed really close and I couldn't detect it wafting around me or anything.

Unfortunately, my skin really hated it, and I got itchy red blotches from it both times I tried to wear it. :P

  12. I have to admit that I didn't get any rose out of this. I guess the musk or something overtook it. My chemistry didn't bring out the rose, it just turned the whole perfume to a really generic, perfume-y scent that wasn't quite what I'd been hoping for.

  13. This is a much lighter and cleaner scent than I expected. I actually find it rather soothing on, and I'd expected it to be heavy and woodsmoky.

The chocolate and the tobacco and an incensey note come out the most on me. It's a very dynamic scent. As you breathe it in, notes turn into each other, but nothing ever overpowers. I feel very calm and grounded when I wear this, yet always looking for adventure.
