  1. :D This is what I thought Milk & Honey TAL was going to smell like!

Lovely and refreshing with coconut milk with a touch of sweetness.

Very light and perfect for a summer day.

(Nothing at all like that nasty sun lotion that has an artificial coconut scent. :P )

Love my imp and will be ordering a big bottle next!

  2. Aiglet, the CCNow page always has it as shipped within a day or so of order for some reason. You'll get a CnS with a USPS tracking number when your order really has shipped out.

I don't think you, or Walking Contradiction, have got a true CnS...at least I hope not! I placed an order on the 13th and still haven't had a CnS show up for me!

It turns out that the CCNow "ship" date is the date that the Lab picks up the orders from them, by fax or something.

So neither I nor Walking Contradiction got super-lucky this time.

Actually the *ship* date is the date that CCNOW gets the cash from your order transferred to them. Up until then, the funds have a hold on them from your credit card. It has nothing to do with the Lab at all.

The date you place a CCNOW order is the date the Lab receives it.

    HTH

Click N Ship (CnS) notification emails are generated only via the USPS website.

  3. This is a slightly foody scent.

Pumpkin but also creamy and spicy with clove/cassia. It does seem to have a hint of something like rum.

Definitely very, very yummy and one of the few foody scents that I would wear.

I would LOVE to have a big bottle of this!

    :P

  4. This blend definitely is *effective*!

As the previous poster mentions, others do seem to react in a very positive manner toward you when you have this oil on.

It also has quite a lovely fragrance as well.

A joy to wear in both aspects.

And yes, a big thank you to Beth for this fabulous oil.

    :P

  5. For some reason, this reminds me of High John but more watery.

The oils is reddish in color, so perhaps contains some dragon's blood

Actually quite a lovely and light fragrance.

    Beautifully paired to its card.

  6. I love the words that evoke this Elemental but, on me, there is absolutely none of the aquatic.

It almost seemed more earthy upon the skin.

This is not something that I would be wearing but I'm happy to have it.

  7. Echoes of the the carmel corn in Midway and faintly of the cream in Misk U but still with its own character.

    Very, very nice.

The drydown is very soft and milky. For those who love foody scents, this would be for you.

I feel so lucky to have a bottle of this.

    :P

  8. Jasmine, juniper berry and rose geranium.

This is one of my favorite of the Maelstrom.

I love jasmine and the addition of rose geranium made it a must try first!

(I don't know if this Ligeia is the same as the Bewitching Brews of yore.)

Very feminine and rounded floral. It's quite girly.

Wish I could get this in a big bottle but I will have to do with collecting multiples.

    :P

  9. ... This perfume is a traditional Roman Catholic sacramental incense, most often used during a Solemn Mass. Traditionally, five tears of this incense, each encased individually in wax that has been fashioned into the shape of a nail, are inserted into the paschal candle. This is, of course, represents the Five Wounds of Our Risen Savior. Symbolically, the burning of the incense signifies spiritual fervor, the fragrance itself inspires virtue, and the rising smoke carries our prayers to God.

MM is a serene, lovely oil.

It does remind one of old cathedrals and high mass.

When wearing it, I feel calm and centered and, not to sound really odd, blessed.

I also hope that Midnight Mass will resurrect next Yule.

    :P

  10. Poppies, my dear!

    Wow!

Upon initially wearing this makes you feel like you're high! Well, high on a gorgeous and heady fragrance. I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist. It's a rich, deep floral but also sweet like the juice that is scraped off of its namesake to produce the opiate. I detect a hint of spice/incense like what the opium dens of yore would smell like.

    Utterly compelling, deadly and dangerous.

But then the drydown! Soft, gentle and subtle; a lovely echo of the above.

    Simply stunning and gorgeous.

Another on the list for a big bottle.

    :P

  11. Ah, lillies!

This lily is different from any of the other lily scents in the BPAL family.

It's soft and gentle though still retaining the Lily signature.

Hinting of soft vanilla intermingled with lily. Nothing like Cobra Lily! In fact, subtle and deceivingly demure.

Black Lily...definitely on my list for a big bottle!

    Thanks, Beth!

    :P

  12. Swoon!

    I love this one!

It has bits of the different scent families every time you whiff. Comes across boozy, then incensy, then darkly floral. It seems to change as the moments pass...

Definitely deadly but what a way to go!

    :P

  13. Ah...lovely creamy milk and honey!

    Soft, sweet and gentle.

This is a very pretty and subtle fragrance.

It is a very comforting scent to wear on those days that you feel soft and pretty and sweet (yes, I'm repeating myself!)

    Very innocent and accessible.

Yes, I want more of this! :P

  14. Wow...I must one of the lucky few!

    I love this scent!

It's quite unusual with the touch of coffee bean in it. So unlike any other scent in the world!

It's rosy floral/mahogany woody/vanilla spicy/fig fruity with the aforementioned coffee bean and somehow the combination is absolutely intoxicating.

    I love, love, love this!

    Absolutely yummy!

    :P :D :D

  15. Grapefruit, red currant, dark musk, Roman chamomile, delphinium, and lavender.

I absolutely adore this scent and it has nothing to do with the fact it was discontinued. :P

There is something soft yet sparkling about CC. Wearing it evokes feelings of happiness and calmness.

I love the components of grapefruit, red currant, dark musk, Roman chamomile, delphinium, and lavender.

It is just about my number 1 most favorite BPAL of all time.

Hopefully, when the grapefruit harvest comes back to respectable levels, CC will return again.

  16. WHOA!!!!

    This is one amazing scent!

I adore the combination of sinuous opponax, galbanum, dark wild berries, a drop of lush jasmine and a sliver of lime.

It's got a little bit of the different scent families: floral, resin, citrus, fruit...

Really, really amazing and stupendously gorgeous

I hope one day Venom will come back, even if for a short Limited while.

    :D :D :P

    ADDED 3/28/07:

This is definitely in the Top Ten of my favorite of all BPAL.

There is just something that Beth does with her jasmine blends that is simply magical!

This scent is very sensual with the combination of galbanum and jasmine and the addition of lime is pure alchemy. The opoponax anchors the jasmine with an earthy, sweet, balsamic and faintly lavender floral fragrance. The berries and the touch of lime give the scent a lovely fruity, citrus lift.

There is no other scent like this one.

    I absolutely adore Venom!

    :D

  17. I purchased an imp of this off the Forum, so I could not say how old it is nor its living conditions before it got to me.

I am not getting the pineapple from this that some of the other reviewers are getting. And I had high hopes as pineapple is a component that I am very partial to.

It's not much of anything very distinctive.

I'll have to get another imp (or bottle) from the Lab and try again.

I will update this review at that time.

  18. Wow!

This is my favorite of the Somnus blends.

Something about the combination of deep lavender, white sandalwood, jasmine, bergamot and mugwort is absolutely lovely and enchanting. It's a great everyday scent. Subtle, soft and calming as well.

The lavender is not overt and is tempered by the other components. My next big bottle!

    In my top 10!

    :P
