    Pulcinella & Teresina

Pickles on an old wood bench. This is a very sour, vinegar-like smell on me. I do get a bit of rose in the background, but yeah... pickles and cedar when wet. After it dries it's less intense and I get a nice cedar, which I love, but I still smell pickles floating around in there. Not for me, but fun to try. Edit: Man, I really wanna love this. It's like I can smell past the pickles to the beautiful rose and wood. Like I sat down to watch Pulcinella and Teresina, and the lights dim and a hush falls... but them some dude is smacking on a Vlasic right next to me and I think, "Seriously? Do I have smell this the whole show?"
  2. At first I couldn't stand the smell of this. It smelled like an asian spice isle with chocolate and was just completely overwhelming. I was worried about my purchase, but after about a half hour it dried down to a really nice gender neutral chocolate, which is really cool because I can't think of a lot of chocolate scents that men can wear (or maybe would be willing to wear lol). So, all in all I am pretty happy with this after dry down, but I'll probably either sell off a few decants or see what happens to it after a year or two. I haven't quite decided yet but I do see myself wearing it. ETA: I just tried this again and I love it! I'm really glad I got this despite it sounding risky.

    Pink Lace

    Eeep, double post.

    Pink Lace

Pink Lace fades really fast on me. When wet it's a lot of sweet vanilla with strawberry, but after a few minutes it turns into a very light incense with a hint of strawberries and cream in the background. I don't really get any cognac as far as I can tell, but it is a nice scent. The tobacco and incense definitely helps it "grow up" a little- otherwise I think it'd be a little too girly and not as sexy.I think if it'd stay longer on me I'd really like this.

    The Green Apple Of Venus

I was given a tester of this by the lovely lady flash! Wet, it smells very much like Jolly Ranchers. That mellows out pretty well after dry down, where it morphs into such a pretty scent! The apple and strawberry balance each other out really well and the sandalwood gives it a nice depth that I don't think that it would otherwise have. I do catch the pomegranate and rose notes, which are not too strong and just enough to round out the overall smell. Everytime I catch a whiff of it I just think, "Pretty, pretty, pretty!" in my head, which is good because today is a very hardworking mommy day filled with leaky diapers. If I can snag a bottle of this I think I will.

    Mechanical Phoenix

Wowza, this is definitely clean, sharp men's cologne! It's a heavy sent and I get a good deal of ozone. I can't quite pinpoint it but it does smell a lot like one of the common chain/drugstore aftershaves. I wish I could remember the name... maybe Brut? Gah, can't recall. This is very DH, BF friendly. I like a lot of masculine scents but I prefer the woods-y types. I'm glad I got to try it, though!

    The Vine

I'm having pretty much the same experience as most of the previous posters. The Vine starts off as a strong, candy-sweet pear when it's wet and as soon as it dries down it becomes a nicely balanced juicy pear, honey and vanilla cream. It does fade rather quickly though. Even though I'm a bit of a foody I'm going to say this is not for me. I think that it'd make a nice home fragrance, though.

    Queen Alice

Queen Alice was a very spicy-sweet, almost almond like smell on me. It's a very complex perfume with loads of carnation, but for some reason the spice and flowers just don't jive well together on me. I think that it is a very grown-up scent and I could definitely see how it has a certain regality to it; still, this one is a swap for me.

    Prunella

I totally agree with mari4212! When I was little I had a perfume bottle that was shaped like a young woman holding a parasol over her shoulder. Her top half was a light pink plastic and her skirt was a medium pink frosted glass bottle. I think I got it at a garage sale, if I remember correctly. Anyway, Prunella smells exactly how I remember that, except creamier. I'm definitely not a fan of this scent but it is true to it's description. Unfortunately it does not work for me and sometimes I think I can smell a wet paper, cardboard kind of quality to it. I'll definitely be swapping this one.

    Kumiho

I was stoked to try this one because of my Korean heritage! Kumiho started off with an aggressive lemon and lily smell to me until drydown when it chilled out. I didn't really get any of the ginger so far as I could tell, but the tea came out really nicely. The flowers in it are great- really sweet and fresh, not cloying but very steady and beautiful. On me, it's a well-rounded scent that is so pleasing to smell; I totally wasn't expecting that. I'm sad that the ginger didn't come out well for me, but I am so happy with the lemons, lily and tea that I get. Bonus, it lasts a long time too! This is such a great scent and I think that it would please most people.

    Lemon-Scented Sticky Bat

This was my very first 5ml purchase! I adore sugary lemon scents, so even though I bought this blind I was very excited. In the bottle it smells just like a baking extract to me. LSSB has an intense waft of super sugar and lemon with that alcohol-like edge that extracts have, but you know that when you add a bit to your mix it will come out all delicious in the end. On application the lemon is fierce; it reminds me of the perfectly goopy, covered in powdered sugar lemon bars that a local cafe makes from scratch. However, it backs down really nicely into a lovely and wearable scent that would be perfect for the summer. I am beyond thrilled with this and must get a back up bottle!

    Bread-and-Butter-Fly

I reallllly wanted to love Bread and Butterfly, but I just can't get into it. It starts off like a sweet, wet dough- like it's still sticky and rising in it's pan. I do smell the milkiness and tea, but after awhile it just turns into a powdery, indistinct grandma kinda smell. Not that it's completely bad or anything, it's just not something wearable to me. The tea hangs on pretty well which is something I wanted desperately, but once that powder scent kicks in I lose the love. It's funny, because I feel like this walks the line of foody/not foody at all. I will keep the imp, though. It's fun before dry down and hard not to like the idea of Bread and Butterfly.

    Lolita

I really love honeysuckle so I was super excited to try out Lolita. Wet, to me it smells like someone took a cup of orange juice, a few lemon slices and pretty spring bouquet then tossed them fresh and juicy into a blender. It does have a youthful feel to it, which would go perfectly on a sunny spring afternoon. After it dries down the honeysuckle and heliotrope comes out more while the lemon/orange qualities fade. I do like the floral smell it gets after an hour or so, but it does become a little generic. I wish it would stay smelling like it was wet. All in all it's a very wearable scent. Probably no bottle for me, but I wouldn't pass up another imp in the future.

    Bon Vivant

Wow, this is definitely effervescent like champagne! I don't get much strawberry at all though, and I feel like I kinda have to strain to detect any. I'm a little bummed out because I had high hopes for this one... It's still kind of fun, but it's definitely more of a novelty. Bon Vivant is not a strong perfume on me and fades fast, but it does stay true and doesn't seem to morph at all. Well, at least it didn't go play dough-y on me.

    Bliss

A shot of pure, self-indulgent euphoria! A scent that is very, very wicked in its own way: the serotonin-slathered scent of pure milk chocolate. This is beautiful, yummy chocolate through and through on me. Just sniffing my wrist makes me feel like I took a delicious bite of a smooth, rich chocolate bar. It's a very consistent scent, just like someone before me said. I think I need a 5ml of this one for sure- just smelling it gives me a wonderful and fulfilled sensation.

    Yggdrasil

Maybe I should give this one another shot, I really wanted to love it... But too bad for me I just smelled wintergreen, wintergreen, wintergreen. I kept thinking about mouthwash or gum the whole time I was wearing it, and I think it kind of ruined me appreciating anything else about it. I think that Yggdrasil + my skin = Trident.

    Dorian

Dorian is a really beautiful scent. It makes me feel like I'm at tea time with an English gentleman and I've just caught a whiff of his sexy, subtle cologne. Pretty much all the reviewers before me have got it spot on- a sweet, creamy tea nicely blended with delicate musk. No wonder why it is so popular!
