  1. Oddly enough, neither Chris nor I am overly fond of this one...I think it's the "feral pungence of black musk" that's disagreeing with us here...it's just a little too musky for our tastes.

I think I have yet again stumbled upon an ingredient I will have to pass on.

  2. Definietly a rather complicated scent! I smell the jasmine right away, with a hint of the carnation mixed in. Add a bit of mossiness, and I feel like I am lost in a forest being stared at by strange little creatures!

While I like this one, as with the Alice, it is making my skin burn...I am guessing the bergamot disagrees with me terribly. :P

  3. Curious indeed...on me, while I do smell the carnation somewhat, as with a hint of rose, I am getting a large dose of something spicy...no clue what, as what my nose thinks it smells does not exist in this scent. It could possibly be from the bergamot, but I am not positive.

I do know that this one, with what very little I applied of it, is making my wrist burn...I guess I just found another scent I can't wear. :P

  4. First impression...an overflowing rosebush just after a refreshing summer rain. Very reminiscent of my youth, tending my mom's rosebushes during summer break from school.

Unfortunately, with all scents that contain cinnamon, this one is starting to react badly to my skin. I think I am going to have to try a few of the different rose scents as I absolutely love the smell, but can't tolerate wearing it.

  5. So far all I am smelling is the cinnamon...there's a darker scent mixed in that I can't quite decipher yet.

Unfortunately, cinnamon scents tend to have a bad reaction with my skin...I am starting to develop the tingly burning feeling that's telling me to get this one off my body now. I may try it in a oil burner (if I ever buy one), but I won't be wearing it again. :P

How you found out about BPAL - I first heard of the site on GothicAuctions several years ago, but didn't become an addict until I started chatting with Beth on the GothAuctions forums last year.

  7. Yum. I think I could get drunk off the smell of this. Berry with a light hint of wine mixed in. Add a splash of Amaretto.

This scent reminds me of the scene in Tombstone where Doc says "Kate. You're not wearing a bustle. How lewd." devil.gif (And just as a character reference, I *love* that movie, and that is one of my two favorite scenes in it. :P )

  8. Mmmmmmm...finally got a chance to try Lady MacBeth!

Sweet and fruity, yet devious. It reminds me of a bottle of Raspberry Lambic, which I positively love and adore and cannot find at any of the good restaurants (or beer distributors for that matter!) around here! Just thinking of the Raspberry Lambic brings back fond memories of a girl I know, and I cannot stop sniffing myself because of it!

    I :P Lady MacBeth! :D

  9. The cute little round corked bottles are used on occasion for the oils, but Elizabeth primarily uses the cobalt screw-top ones. I have a few of the round bottles, and while I love them, I have had to replace several corks due to them getting wedged inand then breaking off...in fact, my signature scent E. made for me is currently unusable due to this exact problem. :D I need to get more replacement corks so I can get the last of the one currently stuck in it out and recork it with a new one.

Anyway...I have never seen a 10ml bottle, but I am pretty sure they are a larger cobalt-blue screw-topped bottle. I do, however, have some other oils from E. in larger (possibly 10ml) clear glass sorta-rectangle shaped corked bottles, so I may very well be wrong.

At any rate...I love all the pretty different bottles Elizabeth uses. :P

*edited because the font color I originally used is very hard to read*

  10. If you're in L.A. and need a part-time job, we're in dire need of help. PM or email me if you're interested.

    Thanks!

Beth...you already know that I'd fly out there in a heartbeat to help out if I could...I really wish I could clone myself so you could have your own, personal slave. :P

Hopefully you will find an honest, respectable, hard-working part-timer soon.

  11. Soft. Floral. Almost powdery...but not in a grandmotherly way. I can possibly see myself wearing this on the rare occasion I am feeling feminine...I picture it in my mind with a flowing silk nightgown, soft romantic music, and champagne.

  12. This to me smells of a blend of pine, a hint of eculaptyus, and something light and floraly that I can't quite decipher. It reminds me of a stroll through the woods in the summer, just before a heavy storm.

It is an intriguing, slightly upllifting scent.

  13. When I first smelled this from the vial, I didn't like it too much...wearing it is a completely different story, though! I find this very calming, yet refreshing because of the hint of lemon. Slightly smoky, but slightly more floraly. A perfect blend. :P

  14. Sniffing this from the bottle, I smell lots of cherry. As soon as I put it on, that changed to clove, though...I can smell hints of the other ingredients in it, primarily the myrrh then the dragon's blood...the cherry is barely noticable now, though there is still the faint hint of sweetness in this.

This is a rather interesting scent, but not one I will be wearing, as the smell of cloves has always bothered me.
