  1. This is really amazing. I was a little weirded out at first by the leather, but I find that I keep going back to it and each time it's better. Dark, smoky, sweet, burnt caramel, honey, sandalwood....And that weird, almost plastic-y asphalt scent in Pumpkin Smash that turned me off there, but I'm utterly in love with it here. If someone smashed a pumpkin on the antikythera mechanism, I think you'd get this scent.

  2. mmmmmMMMMMMmmmmmm.

Sexy evil baby powder. NOT at all what I was expecting, but I MUST score a bottle of it. It's faint but just the right combo of spicy (finally a cinnamon I can wear!) and gingery and airy and musky. And it has serious lasting power on my eats-perfume skin.

  3. there's an initial note- sort of medicinal, labdanum perhap- that really puts me off this blend, but the drydown is hours of pure resiny gorgeousness. reminiscent of Minotaur to my nose, actually. definitely a complex and serious incense scent!

  4. This is really, really pretty- mostly nectarine on me. It reminds me a lot of Tamomo no mae, with that faint hint of skin musk and fruit that doesn't dominate the blend. I don't think this one is distinguishing itself from Tamamo, however. Which is a shame, because I'd love to wear this scent simply for the octopus in the bowler hat. HEHEHE!

  5. I'm not entirely sure what's going on in that lovely painting (I mean, the big penis is obvious but the man's expression is vague and priceless), and I'm not entirely sure about this scent, either (other than ORANGE!). The first time I tried it, it was absolute orange-patchouli love- like an elaboration of Ravenous, a favorite of mine. Today it's just sour and ylang ylangy. No violet in sight! :P Will give this one a third shot, but I don't see a bottle happening here.

  6. Here's an aquatic that really speaks to me, where the others I've tried leave me cold and thinking "eew dryer sheets". I'm not sure what it's saying, other than "buy me NOW" but WOW, it's lovely. How can I pass up the lusty octopus? I was so not expecting to like this one, but I think it might be my favorite of the NIFSA blends.

  7. I've tried 3 of the new bath oils, and they're all lovely. This one's my favorite. I had no idea a bath oil could disperse itself so unobtrusively and still leave you feeling silky smooth. I love the scent as well- faint, but lovely- reminds me a little of dana o'shea without the almond (from what I remember...sniffed that one looong ago). It's a decent moisturizer as well- I couldn't resist temptation to use it in the shower this morning. I hope this is staying on the permanent catalog, because it's gorgeous.

  8. I wanted to throw out another Black Lace comparison: Zephyr. Z's a little lemony, but otherwise has a very similar (to my nose) sweet vanilla musk that totally reminded me of Black Lace, especially when I tried 'em side by side. I love them both!

Also: Midway (resurrected) is a dead ringer for Marshmallow Poof to my unsophisticated nose. I honestly could barely tell them apart after about five minutes on me.

  9. This one is simply ~lovely~. I can smell the coconut and amber and almond milk and mango and sandalwood, they sort of some and go in waves and each wave is a shimmering haze of beauty. It's not foody- in fact it's hit a floral stage on me now. But it fades into a lovely smooth sandalwood (one of my favorites) and is just beautiful. I'm very happy to have found an Indian theme blend that works on me. Chintamani Dhupa, for example, had all the right notes but just smelled like an old ashtray on my skin. :P

  10. chocolate hates me.

cinnamon hates me and usually gives me a rash.

El Dia de Reyes...? Loves me. WTF? And it's all wonderful chocolately cinnamon mocha. I can't believe my wee nose. Good throw, divinely yummy foody scent, and now I'm craving chocolate cake batter. Not the cake itself, just the batter. *g*

  11. I have a hard time smelling musks, and I can barely smell Ivanushka at all.

Funny people mentioned pickles, though....my husband smelled parsley. But once it warms up, it's a very faint, but sweet, musk. Barely any throw, and it only lasted about an hour on me. But as I said, I have a hard time smelling straight-up musk. It reminded me a bit of Buck Moon.

Come to think of it, it does smell a little like the sweet scent of my cat's fur. It's very nice!

  12. I'm not sure what's wrong with my nose, but instead of "booze" I get "formaldehyde." Once that note fades away it kinda reminds me of Pruno and Fae- an effervescent very sweet fruity scent that's nearly identical to Hawaiian Punch mix. But that initial note really turns me off. It's also in Mi-Go brain cannister. Not sure what it is!

  13. Cypress, oak, and pine covered in 2-ply!

as the only non-foody scent of the inquisitions, poor TP'd Trees gets overlooked, I think. But it's simply lovely! It's a crisp, light floral musk that is refreshing and clean. I found that it was quite long-lasting on me, as well. It sort of reminds me of Irish Spring, but mellower and more complex- but it's in that refreshing green category. Very pretty!

  14. fantastic scent in the soap, and such a lovely color! I'm happy to be able to enjoy the samhain scent in soap form, because the cinnamon's just too much for my skin in the perfume form. In contrast to the other reviewers, though, I'm not excited about the scrubby twigs...I'd have preferred a smoother soap. But still, very nice!

  15. almonds and amber and (on me) red musk, with a cedar background.

I'm awfully surprised that this isn't a more popular blend. My nose sticks it in the category of red moon and scorpio 2007, except mellower and woodier. But sumputously sweet and smooth and ambery. I don't think of the sun, I think of sun-warmed woods and skin. Very pretty!
