    Two, Five & Seven

In the Bottle: I'm scared. Roses generally smell really bizarre on me....I'm scared of the plethora of roses. But I am brave! Truly I am! My exact reaction? "Holy Sh*t, roses!" Like that was a big surprise after reading the description. Which.....truly it was. I didn't expect so MUCH rose....why? I have no clue, I'm silly like that. It's literally like standing in the middle of a room from one of those cheesy love movies where the guy sends a dozen roses on the hour for three weeks. It's just...rediculous amounts of rose. Wet: I believe I summed it up perfectly in the last sentance of the in the bottle. Rediculous amounts of rose. It's not bad...just rediculous! I actually like it though. I think after Persephone and this one I might actually stop shying away from rose scents. If this is as rosey as Beth's notorious rose gets.....that's not so bad! Drydown: Mmmm that's a very tame rose. I expected it to be pungent ... like......well like it was in the bottle. I was actually literally scared of this scent!!! Courage has it's rewards.

    March Hare

In the Bottle: I LOVE Beth's apricot note, it's.....heaven. I have such gloriously high hopes for this. The apricot is freshly cleaned and glittering. The clove is softly pungent yet not attacking. This smells like a candy my aunt used to make for easter. She'd take fresh apricots and stew the clove in sugar and then freeze the apricots and then right before serving pour the boiling hot sugar/clove mixture over it. It was fantastic. I hope this works on me, it reminds me of my favorite aunt who passed a few years ago. Wet: Oh WOW....the apricot is beautifully ripe still on the branch and the clove is lightly dusting the fruit. I can only BARELY smell the clove and it's fantastic. This smells even better than Aunt Carol's apricot treats! This has gotta stay nice on me! It just has to! Drydown: The sweet clove and apricot have merged perfectly like soul mates. I love this. I love it love it love it.

    Malice

In the Bottle: Oh I'm not sure I'm going to like this. It was part of a lot I purchased on ebay because I wanted to try 11 out out of the 21 items presented. Patchouli and myrrh....that scares me. I'm starting to think that anything dark red is my enemy. Oh god it smells so dark and brooding and dangerous in the bottle! I just know it'll go all sawdust on me, it's my curse. I can smell the ylang ylang first, then the divine red patchouli and then it's spiced by the clove. I can't smell any of the myrrh at all. Which is good...very good. I'm disgusted with my chemistry right now....because I just know it'll turn foul on me. Wet: OMG this is divine. I'm going to weep. I know I am. The ylang ylang it oddly tamed by my skin in this mix. The red patchouli and myrrh aren't being evil, they are co-habitating rather sweetly. The clove isn't being dangerous either. I have no clue what's going on right now on my left wrist but I'm perfeclty ok with it and I might even send it a Hostess gift. Drydown: I don't really know where this scent went. It's warm and inviting. Not at all what I would call "angry" the red patchouli actually calmed down very very nicely into something I didn't even think I could smell like anymore. I'm impressed. This is going in the maybe box still, but I deffinately like it.

    Pumpkin Patch IV (2005, 2006)

In the Bottle: Immediately I'm accosted by the warm spiced pumpkin. Then a bit of something sharp, maybe the orris? I can't smell the sandalwood at all although I'm sure when it hits my skin it'll be all pencil shavings and spice. Wet: Immediately accosted by the pumpkin which is very salty on my skin. The sandalwood is amazingly tame in this one. I can't smell the orris though. I wonder where it went. Drydown: Salty pumpkin and pencils. I hate that! Stupid sandalwood! Why do you hate me? I used to wear sandalwood essential oil all the time and it never smelled like pencil shavings. Now it hates me. It's a conspiracy.

    Crossroads

In the Bottle: Nice florals with a grounded sense with the mosses, only a smidge of earth. It's not bad. It smells like a garden. Maybe iris? Not exactly sure but I like the floral in this one. I can barely smell the dirt in it thankfully since I truly dislike the smell of dirt. It's very perfumey.....like a perfume you'd expect to find in a department store. Not sure I'm 100% liking it or not. I doubt I'd wear it so I won't be heart broken if it doesn't work on me. It's not a scent that I can see myself moving in. It's very...dramatic. I'm more for lighter fragrances. Wet: Flowers dirt and herbs. Sneezing.....yah....I wish I liked this one actually but the nose speaks it's opinion. Drydown: That incense must have some sort of wood in it. Pencil shavings with a nice floral atop it. *sigh*

    Persephone

In the Bottle: I made the mistake of opening this imp that I had just received at a house I frequently torment with my BPAL obsession. Unfortunately this house was full of 3 males who are dear friends of mine. I believe the exact comment from one of them when they smelled the wand was, "That smells like sex rolled up with finger lickin good candy fruit and flowers. You wear that around me and you'd better be wearing a chastity belt." He hit it right on the head. This scent is .....ultra-feminine. But not a girly girl scent oh no this fragrance with it's mere two ingredients has much more power than that. It holds the power of simple seduction, temptation and LUST. If this scent goes foul on me I'm likely to scream. Wet: I have no clue what just happened. The rose smells funny.....no pomegranate. It's not foul...just not what I expected. It doesn't smell yucky...just confusing. It's bright but it....not what I expected at all. I'm reserving judgement till drydown. Drydown: Rose. LOTS of rose. It's a pale rose though, a rose that's dainty. I don't dislike it, I was just hoping for more Pomegranate. I'll be keeping it though. Mine! Can't have it!

    Dia de los Muertos

n the Bottle: I have no clue what any of those things smell like aside from the amaranth and I only have a vague recollection of what it smells like. I guess my winamp can describe this scent better than I can since it aptly picked out a song for this scent. The 69 Eyes - Stolen Season. It seems PERFECT. In the bottle this scent smells exactly like the song sounds. Mourning, dark and yet not dark so much as twilit. Wet: Oooooooooooooooooooooh......a heady perfume mixed perfectly. The fruit and florals mix divinely. I think unless this one goes sour this is a keeper for one of those "seduction" nights. Deffinately one of those perfumes that you use sparingly because it's so potent yet soooo delicious. Drydown: Wow this tamed down REALLY nicely. It still has it's fruitiness and it's florals and yet they aren't evil or too powdery. Now to hunt for a 5ml!

    Sugar Cookie

In the Bottle: Wow....it smells exactly like a freshly baked sugar cookie from granny's oven! There's a slight (read as very slight) egg noggy smell that throws me off just a smidge. Not sure if that's my nose or if that's actually there. Deffinately a scent I could see myself wearing while hiding the christmas presents this year. I must add that I'm actually really surprised that it smells WARM...as in the temperature warm. Wet: Wow...it STILL smells like a warm sugar cookie. Bizarre! I hadn't expected it to actually smell like that. I'm not overly fond of foody scents but it could be nice for a dinner party during the holidays. I wonder how this one will age. Drydown: Impressed am I! It didn't change in the SLIGHTEST. It STILL smells spot on for a sugar cookie. Brilliant!

    The Apothecary

Every one of the tea scents I've absolutely loved, even if they didn't smell righ ton me (as in the case of Dorian which smelled too masculine on me) I still loved them. Kumiho has been by far my favorite. Tea and ginger...which this has both....different kinds of tea but here's hoping! In the Bottle: Clean. I smell the grass and the mosses and the ginger. I can't smell any of the fig or the herbals. It smells divine. Would be fantastic as a linen spray. I am dubious as to how this will smell on me however it's beautiful as I expected it to be. Uh oh.....two seconds out of the bottle it sends me into a fit of sneezing. Let's hope it was just dust. I'd hate to think I'm having an allergic reaction to another scent. Wet: Divine, as I had hoped. It's clean with tea and ginger. I can barely smell the mosses now with a nice sprinkle of the soft grasses. It's slightly reminiscent of Irish spring but tea notes usually are on me until the drydown. Drydown: Ooooh nice and clean. Deffinately a keeper. I can see myself wearing this around the house while I'm twidling with arts and crafts. I don't know why but it's a very inspiring scent.

    The Red Queen

I am dying to find a cherry scent that works on me. I have lofty hopes for this one...along with dragging fears. Woods usually smell like pencil shavings on me and with cherry and currant I'm praying that it doesn't go pencil-ey on me. In the Bottle: OMG......Currant and Cherry...that's all I smell. I'm not sure what the other two are supposed to smell like but all I smell is currant and cherry....oh please god don't go foul on me! Wet: OH GOD.........Currant and a bit of Cherry. I just tested Jack and this one though it's the same age on the skin as Jack is wafting up and over powering it. Oh please please please don't go rancid on the dry down. Drydown: Disappointment again. The woods have come out to play and locked the gorgeous princesses of Cherry and Currant in a closet somewhere. I can BARELY smell them any more and I'm crying because of it. I wanted this to work so MUCH!!!

    Jack

In the Bottle: It's amazingly well layered. As the ingredients are listed is what I smell. First the heady aroma of nutmeg reminding me of yummy pies....then the peach giving it a spiced fruit smell and then the clove grounding it and bring all the scents together. This so far reminds me of a victorian christmas pie. With heavily spiced fruits and yummy crust Wet: Mmm warm nutmeg with a bit of peach lurking in the background. A small spattering of clove wafting around the pie now. As if the baker had set a dry pot of cloves out while baking. The nutmeg and pumpkin are mostly smelled and the others a mere afternote. Drydown: Ew. What happened to this one? It was very nice and comforting up until the dry down. Now it smells like the nutmeg and the clove have gone bad and I cannot smell any of the peach or pumpkin.

    Zephyr

In the Bottle: Lovely. Absolutely lovely. The chinamusk and bergamot work magnificently together. I can’t smell the vanilla in it at all. Which might be a good thing since I am not overly fond of vanilla but I know it mixes well with other scents. Wet: Oh there’s the vanilla! It’s no longer showing any bergamot and I wish it was! Maybe the vanilla will burn off. *crosses fingers!* Drydown: Unfortunately…..the vanilla never went away. The bergamot was eaten long ago by it and although the china musk put up a good fight, it eventually succumb to the will of the almighty vanilla. For shame.

    Nemesis

In the Bottle:I can’t smell any one of these ingredients specifically. They’ve all fused together majestically. I’m very impressed with this scent. I had high hopes for this one since it’s my namesake. I think I can pick out the cypress but I’m not sure. It’s far too muted to tell if that is indeed the cypress or if it’s something else, I don’t know what cyclamen smells like. Wet: Uh oh….. patchouli. I hope it goes away….please go away! Drydown: WHY!?!??!!! I hat eyou patchouli! I hate you with a violent rage. If I could destroy you with a large stick I would. …. Yep….all patchouli with a bit of fig and cypress in the background.

    Blood Lotus

In the Bottle: It smells sweet. Like candy, or tropical punch kool aid. Wet: Ther’s something earthy here. It smells like the tropical punch kool aid pre-mixed powder. Drydown: Still smells like powdered kool aid. I believe this one will go to a friend who loves tropical punch kool aid more than I do.
  15. ABrokenAngel

    Cordelia

In the Bottle: Lilac, wisteria, green tea. It’s very very light and airy. I’m afraid this one won’t have a nice throw. Wet: I’m cursed with the love of wet. This is stupendous. Wisteria is one of my favorite flowers. I love it. This brings to mind a Victorian lady sitting in her emense garden maze under an arched trellis covered with wisteria having tea and writing lamenting poetry. Beautiful. Drydown: This muted down amazingly. It just barely blotted down to a sweet heartfelt version of the wet stange. She’s appearantly writing love poetry now.

    Kumiho

In the Bottle: Intoxicating. Smells very much like CK One only not as pungent. This is a very clean CK One. What CK One wanted to be, what it dreams of growing up to be. Wet: WOW! The white tea is AMAZING. It doesn’t smell like CK One at ALL now. Amazing what a little bit of body chemistry can do. I just put it on and it’s already lost it’s CK smell. It’s tea in the forground with a tinting of ginger. The ginger is just powerfull enough to make it’s presence known but not so powerful as to eat away all of the tea. Stay good! Drydown: It stayed!!! On me this calmed down in it’s pungency and nothing more. If I didn’t like this scent I would be beside myself. But I love it! The fact that it dried down to the exact same thing it smelled like on me when it was wet is just an added bonus. Beth! Large bottle prz!!! After 1 week of wearing: I cut this with some alcohol to make a spray out of it and I'm having the same trouble alot of people are having with it......I ahve to FORCE myself not to use it. To wear something else. On my next order I'm order a 10ml....this scent is just.....divine. One of my top 5

    Phantom Queen

In the Bottle: Oh my holy god. Orchid and apple blossom with the heartiness of the Irish moss and a faint after glow of the red clover. This is hellacious! But in a good way! It’s strong and confident in it’s bouquet. I’m so jealous of this imp. I want to bathe in this … forever. I’ll cry if this doesn’t work on me. I’ll cry till I can’t cry anymore and then I’ll get Clear Eyes and cry more!! Wet: The red clover has come out to play as have the moss and a bit of the orchid and apple blossom are still left. It’s still entrancing. Almost too good. Please last! Please last!! Drydown: It dries to a creamy almost lotiony scent. It’s not bad. I’ve come to notice that I dislike a lot of drydown phases but adore the stage between wet and dry so much that I like keeping them. This one? I’m not sure just yet if I want to keep it or not. It has a very strong scent though. Strong as in strength not as in throw. It’ll go in my undecided pile. Cut: When cut the lotiony scent is completely negated. This has become my "RAWR!" scent.

    Marquise de Merteuil

In the Bottle: Beth, I love your peach! Although this scent is nice and complex in it’s combination, I just love the hint of peach. Wet: Divine. It’s a well balanced scent. Hints for fruit and floral grounded by the vetiver. Drydown: It’s disappeared. Or maybe my nose just decided it would go bubye.
  19. ABrokenAngel

    Wicked

In the Bottle: This is an illusive smell. At first I smelled the jasmine, then the rose then the myrrh I guess that last wiff was. I’m not sure how I feel about this one. Wet: Oh yes….I do not like this. I usually love the wet stage but this one, I’d rather not even comment for it’ll be nothing nice. Drydown: Yah……I dislike this very much. IT’s all myrrh on me with a hint of soapy roses.
  20. ABrokenAngel

    Kabuki

In Bottle: I can smell all of the ingredients. It’s very potent. Smells very similar to a strong or fresh twizzler. Oh please don’t turn rank on me. This would be a great first date scent. Especially if it was a fun date. I could see myself wearing this to something like…coffee with a blind date. Very light. Wet: Cherry…..oh lord cherry with a hint of anise. This is so divine! Burned down with some alcohol this could possibly dominate my collection. It’s got a playfulness that I’m just eating up. Let’s hope the dry down isn’t heinous. Drydown: Anise. All anise. I hate pure anise. *sighs* Oh well off to the swap pile for Kabuki. I had so hoped to adore this one.
  21. ABrokenAngel

    Wings of Azrael

I didn’t even test this one. It smelled horrible in the bottle so I immediately put it in the swap pile. Hope someone else likes it. Another one of those scents I was imploring to work for me. I searched vehemently to find this one on the sales pages. In vain. *sighs* That's ok....there's hundreds more where this one came from!
  22. ABrokenAngel

    Penny Dreadful

In the Bottle: I’m not sure what’s in this since it’s not listed on the BPAL page. But this is what it smells like to me. It smells like dirt and flowers. Crisp dirt. Moss covered recently upturned dirt. It’s nice. And then there’s a light bit of flowers in the background. Almost like that moss covered dirt had been harboring some sort of floral and then the flowers had been ground into the dirt. Wet: Smells the same. The dirt smell is more pungent though. I’m not sure if I like this. Although I’m a little goth girl, I’ve never wanted to smell like an old musty graveyard. Drydown: UGH……..the flowers have come out to play and it’s not nice. It’s heinous. It literally reminds me of when I went to see the graveyards in New Orleans and it was rainy. The dirt had turned to mud and all the memorial flowers had been knocked over by the wind and ground into the mud by tourists. SOOO going to the swap pile.

    Ulalume

I'm so jealous of everyone that this scent loves. So very jealous I'm not sure if it's the time of my cycle I'm testing these more "woody" scents in (since I'm told that can effect it) but sometimes.....the wood smells smile like a burning pencil in a dirty diaper on me. Unfortunately...this was one of them. I'm so heart broken.
  24. ABrokenAngel

    Fae

I love the peach note in this. It's a sweet ripe -real- peach. It doesn't smell at all like I expected. I don't know why I keep getting surprised when the notes smell like the real thing and not like a synthetic version. The notes on me at first were mostly peach with a clean touch of white musk. After about 30 minutes everything blended together harmoniously to compliment and work off each other. The peach is still the predominant note but still smells like real peach layered with all the lovlies. Lerve.

    Dana O'Shee

Beth, how exactly did you procure a slice of heaven and bottle it? Seriously I'd like to know. To me this smells like a beautiful enchanted wild orchard with random fruiting and flowering trees everywhere. I love this.
