Just a quick review as I just tested this from the bottle today.

* In the bottle: Get loads of lime out of this. It reminds me of a Gimlet.
* Wet: Cool lime, smooth gin, and a snowy hint of the juniper. It's beautiful.
* Dry down: It shifts now and the pine comes to the forefront. Pure pine needles, which is one of my favorite notes.
* 1 hour later: A little lime mingling with the juniper now, leaving the Gimlet behind. Very soft, very wearable!

Just submitted the 12 Days of Christmas swap. Hopefully, it'll be approved! So excited for this year!

I know it's a long ways away, but I'm already thinking about running the 12 Days of Christmas again this year. It was so much fun last year!

Just wanted to remind everyone who said they'd be interested in the craft supplies swap that sign ups for that close in a few days. Come on, you know you wanna!

I did submit the craft supplies swap post! Hope to see some folks over there for that when it goes through.

Now that I have the 12 Days of Christmas done and under my belt, I wanted to see if anyone was interested in me doing the craft supplies swap I brought up? I'm itching to give and receive some new, fun supplies, so I thought I'd bring it up again to gauge interest.

Either or, really. I'd probably leave it open for people to either buy new items to send to their swap partner and/or send them unloved items in their craft stashes. Leave lots of wiggle room for people, just so long as the unloved craft supplies are in good condition.

Would anyone be interested in a craft supplies swap? Not right now. I'd want to run it after the holidays, definitely after my 12 Days of Christmas concludes. But, a conversation I was having made me think it would be awesome to receive craft supplies in a swap. Things like papers, yarn, glitter mixes or straight glitter, glues, gemstones, Swarovski crystals (or knock-offs if it's someone's bag), paint, brushes, etc. Whatever someone might put in their questionnaire as something they'd desire to receive. I just thought this might be something fun and a bit different? Yay? Nay?

My proposed dates for the opening of the gifts is the actual 12 Days of Christmas, from December 25th-January 5th. I love the holiday season and A ) wanted to make it last, and B ) wanted to have a little less rush rush to get the packages together.

Yeah, but still. I would have felt bad not asking.

With Emma's blessing, I've decided to take on the 12 Days of Christmas Swap. I'm working on the questionnaire now, and then I'll hammer out the details before submitting it for approval! Christmas/Yule is my favorite time of the year, and I'm excited to run this swap.

Is there any interest in a 12 Days of Christmas swap?

 

At first, I thought I'd run a way smaller Winter Fun swap (inspired by one ran by Porcelina a few years back: something yummy, something cuddly, something smelly + a surprise) but I don't want it to be too similar to what Aiobhan has planned.

 

Plus, if I want to do the 12 Days, I want to start it early, leaving it last minute like last year was too stressful.

 

Thoughts?

I had so much fun doing the 13 Days of Halloween, I'd totally be up for doing a 12 Days of Yule/Christmas one (as Yule is my FAVORITE holiday EVAR!).

In bottle: It's very artificial. Like, fake-fake butter and vanilla. It's really unpleasant, almost with an alcohol note.

On me: I just know I'm going to regret trying this one. Anything with a butter note frightens me. And I am not disappointed. It's plastic and grossly buttery.

In bottle: It's a musty, old, generic mixed berry scent. There isn't much sweet about it. It does have a tint--the barest of tint--of alcohol to it.

On me: It smells like raspberry body soap from like... Bath & Body Works or something. Soap, raspberry, and a bit of a resinous tone.

In bottle: This is nice. It's like a strawberry lemonade candy cane. It's really tart and sweet in the imp with just a hint of mint under it. This has potential.

On me: That smells insanely familiar. After consulting with the husband-thing, it reminds us of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls. That little bit of plastic, bit of artificial strawberry, and something powdery about it all. It's all those things. *chuckles* Fake, artificial, plastic. This is one for the scent locket.

In bottle: It smells almost like plastic lemons. >.>

On me: It almost smells like white grape juice, but more like white grape juice that's soured (and not in a nice, happy, winey way).

30 minute dry down: It's... I get the faint sweetness of carnation--reminiscent of Pink Moon '07--but it's that slightly sour twang of old green grapes that I just can't get over. It's like a darker, little less sweet version of the 2007 Pink Moon for sure. Maybe on someone else it's gorgeous. On me, it's highly unpleasant.

In bottle: It's a wet, almost lemony scent, with something dark and musty underneath it. To me, it's like the evil cousin of original June Gloom.

On me: Lemon, mint, and a hint of something oily and unpleasant.

30 minute dry down: It smells like a generic men's cologne on me. Harsh, strong, and very unimpressive.

In bottle: It smells very much like any of the fresh, ozone-like scents Beth puts out (very reminiscent of Embalming Fluid). Clean musk, sharp ozone, a hint of lemon.

Wet: >.> No kidding, it smells like lemony cat piss. Not something I like.

30 minute dry down: It... smells like a hospital room. Slight baby powder, very antiseptic, with that scent of metal and sterile floors.

In bottle: Wow! Boozy and fruity.

On me: Something intensely incense-y about it, tempering the fruit, sugar, and alcohol, but not in a way I particularly like. I should have checked my imp before jumping on the bottle I'd located recently (usually, red fruit scents work well for me).

30 minute dry down: There's fruit, but there's something in there that makes it smell, to me (oddly enough), like I've been kissing some gal who's wearing a LOT of red lipstick between big gulps of spiked punch followed by a good bout of puking. It's really, really unpleasant to me.

In bottle: Hmm. Vanilla soapyness. It's sharp, soap-like, with a hint of vanilla tea. Very strange when I know what the released version smells like.

On me: Astringent tea and soft vanilla with... something citrus like? Very faint and familiar in the back. It's not as mellow as GC Dorian, not as warm.

30 minute dry down: A little soapy, a little powdery. It has a strange vanilla undertone along with this old lady funk. It has a hell of a throw, though.

In bottle: It's all bright, tart green apple. Wet and beautiful in the bottle. The released version of Poisoned Apple is mostly herbs to my nose, but this is just APPLE! in the bottle.

On me: Sharp apple, a hint of herbs. It's like I just cut an apple in the garden. Beautiful.

30 minute dry down: Barely any apple is left on my skin. Instead, I get an incense/resin thing with a hint of apple, dusty wood, and something unpleasantly sour underneath it all.

In bottle: Lemon-Lime Skittles. It truly is. Sweet and sharp. Underneath is something creamy, vanilla-like, and then a very faint, almost-not-there scent of pale wood. Pine, maybe.

Wet on my skin: I get the faintest trace of lime zest, and then a blast of lemon-lime juice with a definite creamy, vanilla note anchoring it. It must be vanilla bean, because there's a hint of plastic to it that I only get when I try a scent that contains vanilla bean. It's sort of like a plastic, lime Necco Wafer.

30 minute dry down: Mainly, I get that vanilla bean plastic thing. It's incredibly disappointing. There is a hint of like... powdered lime. Maybe lime flavored Kool-Aid, but mostly it's just plastic and artificial vanilla. This will be used in a scent locket because I did love it in the bottle, but on the skin it's just not my thing.
