    Libertine

Please forgive my noob nose. It's not yet refined enough to pick out specific notes. However, I wanted to add my initial thoughts, or rather, how it made me feel. initial reaction: fresh out of the bottle, on the skin, my first thought was a memory of my grandmother's old trunks, where she kept many of her old keepsakes and old clothes. Powdery, slightly musty, and of another time. I wasn't happy with it at first. It made me feel as though I were wearing a very old dress that had been stored away for decades. dry down: it has grown on me a little. The powdery quality has relaxed a bit. After a few hours I could smell the sensuality that many people have talked about, it is still very faint for me, but it's there. My final impression is that of a centuries-old beauty. Something that once was glorious. Very much a scent that would be connected with one of Anne Rice's vampires. (is that corny??) I want to like this scent, but the musty, powdery hints are keeping me from really appreciating it. I think I'll let it sit for a few months and come back to it. By then I may have another review.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I would like to second that request for a BPAL equivalent to Ralph Lauren Hot. I love that perfume. For me it's the spicy heat of the cinnamon that makes it special. From all the recommendations I've read on the forum, many BPAL scents that have cinnamon end up being foody (smelling like Red Hots etc.) Can someone recommend a non-foody BPAL that has an element of Woodsy or floral, but with the heat of cinnamon? That would make me a happy camper.

    My first shipment has arrived!

This noob is now in possession of her first BPAL shipment! Earlier this year I made the commitment to go natural with my beauty products. I have an overabundance of makeup, perfume, moisturizers, and hair goop that's filled with all manner of toxic chemicals. I said no more, and promised myself that I would only buy beauty products that were safe and non-allergy inducing. After watching a few really helpful video reviews on BPAL from Youtube, I decided that it was worth a try. All natural, cruelty free, high quality, all good things right? my first imp order-- Dorian Sea of Glass Blood Countess Moscow Libertine Languor I also received Urd and Blue Fire from the Atomic Luau Lounge Collection. Unfortunately, because my nose is so burned out from all the synthetic perfumes I've worn over the years, it will be a little while before I can really appreciate these enough to give a proper review. However, that's not stopping me from placing my next order!
