  1. I love this scent. To me, it falls in the same category as Lady MacBeth and Gluhwein: that delicioud bpal wine note. The dry down on this is very faint on me, and a tad sweeter than Lady MacB. And naturally it is less spicey and honeyed than Gluhwein. I could see this being a fave for me in the warmer months when I want to be a Wino, ha ha. I can't wait to buy a bottle of this.

  2. Very pretty. in the imp I get a honeyed aquatic, reminding me of Selkie, one of my favorite bpals. On my skin the fir and florals balance the sweet water and I'm just loving it. On the dry down, the fir is coming out on me a bit more than I would like, but....it's still summer and I'm feeling the Selkie love. I could see this becoming my winter version of Selkie and just loving it!

  3. In the bottle and wet, this reminds me of the blast of lavender and something very sharp that I smelled in one of the Agonies, and also Bitter Moon. After about 20 min. I begin to smell the different fruits and finally it dries down to reveal a softy and musky vanilla and a purple fruit. It sort of reminds me of Trish McEvoy #9. Very pretty and a keeper for me :P

  4. I cannot believe it...finally a jasmine scent that I love. Jasmine is usually death to me. I even had to throw in the towel on Bigger Critters, which I thought was going to be o.k. But the sweet fruitiness of Daiyu balances the flowerly jasmine just perfectly. I love BPAL can still surprise me :-) :P

  5. Like some others, I really smelled a resemblance to Silence. But where the peach in Silence tempers the blue musk nicely for me, here the cedar and neroli blend in to make it a bit too heady or sharp. Those two did fade a bit on the drydown. It is still a lovely scent, just not for me.

  6. Wet, this had a very pink, sweet candy frangrance on me. On the drydown it was really similar to Pink Phoenix, so I don't think I will buy this one. But if you like girly, pink scents, this one is lovely.

  7. I love this! so far it is my fave of the Shungas. A creamy soft nectarine skin musk. It really reminds me of something I have smelled before but I can't place it. Anyway, it's a welcome surprise because even though I love the tart citrus of Butterflies and Plovers, the patchouli, my arch-enemy, destroys that one for me. I'm definitely getting a bottle of this one! :P

  8. 2007 is very much real gingerbread when wet, but on the drydown, my skin just amps up the cinnamon and spices and it becomes less bready, and more dry and spicey. I had skipped previous versions as I had gone off foody scents, but now I think I will have to try to get my paws on some 2005.

  9. This is mostly soft spicey pumpkin on me, just a tad buttery. About 1/2 way through its dry-down I did smell a bit of the smokiness, but not much. I would say if some of the more spicy BPAL pumpkins, like PP with mulling spices is too much for you, or some are too buttery for you, then this is a nice alternative. :-)

  10. A very interesting scent! At first this smelled a lot like some of BPALs wintery, snow scents, such as Snow Flakes, with a bit of woods. But the dry-down on my fades to a soft floral, a lot like scented tp :-) Fancy that. I can still smell some mild woods on the drydown, too, but it's mostly a soft, powdery floral.

  11. I was so excited to try this one, as I love marshmallows, but sadly there is something in this that hates me and smells like a chemical sharp smell. Almost like acetone but not as potent. I guess it's the plastic note that some are getting. I do smell the fully, sugary fruity sweetness, too. But the plastic dominates. rats.

  12. Graham crackery and cream cheesy! Cinnamon brown sugary! Just a little carroty!

This is absolutely delicious! It reminds me a lot of the fruity spicy pumpkin in Pumpkin Queen, but with graham crackery goodness added in. Oh how I wish I had been able to submit to the Inquisition. :P But at least I have my decant. So far out of the 4 Trick or Treat Inqu. I have tried, this is the winner.

  13. Thank Goddess I ordered this! It is heavenly. Sarada's review was perfect:

"Oh beauty! This is a light sweet aquatic honey. A delicate nectar suspended in beads of the freshest, clearest, cold water. Like honeysuckle drenched in rain or moist, succulent white blooms floating down a crystalline river."

I have to say, the wet stage of this is my favorite. It's all-around beautiful, but the wet stage is magic. As it dries, I do get a somewhat musky scent along with the aquatic, floral and honey notes. This happens with some florals thanks to my chemistry. In the final dry-down, I almost get the same scent as Litha, w/o the wine.

    A truly lovely summer BPAL

  14. If anyone is looking for a GC equivalent of Crumpet Rebellion, look no further than Knave of Hearts! Seriously, they are almost identical. The biggest difference is that Knave of Hearts has rose and Crumpet Rebellion doesn't. On me, Knave had rose in equal balance with the tart, but on other people it's lost entirely, so on you it could be more or less similar. As for me and my skin, the main difference in the black currant tart aroma was that Knave was more buttery pastry, and Crumpet was more caramelized sugar...

I have to agree :-) On me, the main difference is that Knave is a tad more syrupy and less tart. Also, it lasts a lot longer. Crumpet is more tart and juicy, and lasted less. The most noticeable difference was in the wet stages for me. On the drydown, before Crumpet disappeared, they were almost identical. I'm pleased :-)

  15. I adore Monna. This makes me happy, as Rossetti is one of my favorite painters. This is one of the best BPAL roses I have tried. Generally I like the fruiter ones like 2,5,7 and Persephone. And I love the lush red qualities of Peacock Queen. But Mona is simply delicious, even with my dreaded floral gardenia nemesis present. I dont know if the label colors are influencing me, but I see it as spicy, yellow and soft. Gorgeous.

  16. Wet, this is a very tart foody scent on me. Very tart! Almost pixie stix tart. But you can also smell the pastry/baking notes and they are lovely. As the drydown starts, the berry starts to round out and it's delicious! Reminds me of dark juicy blackberries or plump currents. The tartness calms down a tad and the final drydown is a great balance of crust and berry. This is what I wanted Bloody Mary to be like on me (although more red, of course).

    Edited for further comparisons:

This is actually quite similar to Knave of Hearts on me. Knave is more sweet and has a syrupy note, while Crumpet is definitely more tart. However, on me, they dry down almost the same. Crumpet fades a bit more, and Knave retains that syrupy note, but they are very similar, which makes me happy :-)
