    Succor

This one did not love me. It was almost like saffron, with the undercurrent of olives that many of you are mentioning. It dried down a bit softer and seemed to lose the saffron. It then had more of a green and herbal tang, with the olive predominating. I will probably just use this "medicinally" (as it is a panacea, after all), and will keep an imp on hand. But not big bottle for me.

What do bottles and labels look like?

So sorry if this is a dingdong question. I did read through all 15 pages, but am still a tad confused. I see that the LE's have special fancy labels and that it seems the regular catalog 5mls have the plainer standard BPAL label. But as far as regular catalog scents go, is there any difference between a 5ml label and a 10ml label? For instance, I'm interested in Persephone and Lady Macbeth; I'm not ashamed to admit that if the 10ml have nifty images, I'll go ahead and spring for the bigger size :-P Thanks for your info. and patience, Robin/siddal

    Lady MacBeth

Wow, you guys aren't kidding. This one really lasts. At some points during the day, I thought it had really softened down (which isn't a bad thing) and then I would be delightfully surprised by a tart juicy note ringing through the softness, as if I had just applied it. Upon first smelling it I thought "grape Kool-Aid." And while I liked it, I wasn't sure I wanted something so super fruity (not quite as sophisticate or complex as some, KWIM?). But after wearing it for a couple of days, I think I have finally found my first BPAL love :-) Edited to add: I didn't know until after I wrote this that their are two forumlations of this scent. I have no idea which one I received in the swap. Just an fyi.

    La Belle au Bois Dormant

In the imp I could smell a fairly even blend of fruit and flowers, but on my skin, I had only the slightest scent of pear, and mostly white flowers, that, when dried down, reminded me of gardenia. Perhaps it was the magnolia mixing with the other flowers. Alas, alack the day, I wanted to love it but not for me. On to the next :-D
