  1. Perfectly enchanting! An irresistibly sexual, utterly rapturous blend of three roses, radiant amber, and sensual red musk.

Such absolute beauty in here. This isn't a scent I wear often because it's usually too rich and heady for me. Today, though, I wanted it. I wanted the gorgeous, rich, deep red roses dripping with golden amber beads. This is floral-yet-not, dry, slightly powdery (but not in a bad way), and has a hint of spice about it. My husband always gets excited when I wear this one because it's all nag champa to his nose. The longer this oil is on my skin, the sweeter and prettier it becomes. It lasts for several hours, is very strong upon initial application, but calms down to a close body scent after an hour or so. While I don't wear Spellbound anywhere near often enough to justify a bottle, I'm definitely glad for my imp.

  2. If it says shipped on CCNow does that actually mean shipped? I haven't received a CnS yet but the money has been taken from my account. I can't remember what happened last time with my order :D

Read the post right above yours, hon, especially the part I bolded here:

There should be some sort of an explanatory note on the CCNow site letting people know that their "shipped" status does not have anything to do with whether your actual order shipped. It just means the order was accepted by the Lab for processing. Nothing has shipped until you receive a click & ship email from the USPS. Sometimes the click & ships aren't working, but the CCNow status still does not indicate the actual ship date. They don't point this out anywhere on the CCNow site though so it's a bit confusing for a lot of people. :)

To see where the lab is in processing check the "click & ship" thread, where it looks like they're up to about Feb. 29 right now. They should be up to March 7 soon!

If you're using Paypal, they suggest not checking out through CCNow though if you can avoid it. On the main BPAL page it asks that Paypal orders be placed directly through Paypal, and not through CCNow. It will still reach them but they get charged double fees or something like that. If I'm mistaken, someone please correct me! That's just how I remember it! :D

Hey thank you! I hope they are on the March 7th orders soon :P . Well next time I will pay directly through pay pal! I do not want the lab to lose money.

  3. Sugar-slathered sex in a bottle. Temple Viper is one of those scents I somehow forget about until I come across it in my imp box, then I say, "HELL YES I'M WEARING THIS ONE TODAY!" As it dries, it becomes more resinous and sensual but retains that initial sweet sugary blast that draws me to it to begin with. This is, I think, the only Snake Pit oil that works for me, and I absolutely love it. Still need to pick up a full bottle (or two...or five). The throw is moderate, and it lasts four to five hours before needing reapplication.

  4. Finally, a Lupercalia scent I like. The pomegranate wine is lovely, a little tart, very sweet, not bitter like I thought it might be. I can't pick out any other individual notes, so the lotus does not go to bubblegum. This is very strong fresh out of the vial, but it settles down into a softer, tantalizing scent. It lasts for several hours. Unfortunately it reminds me too much of Fruit of Paradise to want a full bottle.

  5. Ack, cedar! Thankfully after a few moments it settles down, leaving me with a very dry, still woodsy aroma. It reminds me mainly of...pencil shavings. Rose and pencil shavings. No other notes ever appear for me. I had high hopes for this one, so this was a major disappointment.

  6. Soap with a bit of cinnamon. That's the only note I can pick out. This is the soapiest scent I've had on my skin in a long time. The longer it's on, the more the cinnamon comes out, but there's definitely still a very strong soap behind it.

  7. At first, Maenad is super-strong and gag-inducing. One of these notes is just WRONG to my nose -- sour, stale, and completely off-putting. But I resisted washing it off right away, hoping the strawberry would come out to play...and after half an hour or so, she did! Such a sweet, bright strawberry. This scent is strongest at initial application but still has about average throw when the strawberry comes out. Unfortunately she doesn't have much staying power -- the scent was completely gone after an hour.

  8. Mmmmmm. I wasn't around for the first Egg Nog, but I love the drink, so I was insanely excited to have the new version come out. It's a lovely sweet, rich, gently spiced scent with just a touch of alcohol. It definitely soothes my craving for egg nog when I want the drink but can't have any. It's very strong at first but quickly fades. I have to reapply it often to keep the scent.

  9. Soft, slightly sweet, slightly tart red fruit. I love pomegranate, so naturally I had to get a bottle of this. This is one of the few BPAL blends when I can tell a definite difference in scent depending on what time of month I wear it. :P Sometimes it's straight pomegranate, slightly powdery, with a dry feel to it. Other times it's almost spicy and a little bit juicy. I love it either way, even though it never stays on my skin very long.

  10. The only bottles I've made a noticeable dent in are an LE I decanted from (my one and only decanting experience) and TKO, which I tend to slather on almost every night. Even those are at least 3/4 full. I've not even gone through a full imp. Too many scents to try, too many smellies to love and appreciate -- why stick to just a few and go through them quickly when I can make them all last longer by taking turns with all of them?

ETA: Okay, I just realized that I have finished off an imp -- Oof. Between the bad congestion last May, my current round of bad congestion, and a few minor stuffed-up times in-between, it's empty. Whoa. :P Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut for general perfume use, I still haven't emptied any others out!

  11. crimescenecleanup, the only reason they say not to use Paypal through CCNow is because they get hit with fees from both CCNow and Paypal, so they get less of your money. The order should have gone through just fine, but...at the same time, this topic says they've packed every order through January 12th, and it's been a while since that was updated. If you order was placed before the 12th, I'd go ahead and email the Lab just to check on it.

  12. Straight out of the imp -- definite citrus with just a hint of peppermint. When it goes on my skin, the peppermint comes out a bit more, and I can smell the chocolate. I like it just fine at this stage -- not a favorite, but not an immediate swap pile scent either. And then...the drydown. Lavender. Don't get me wrong, I can love lavender when it's sweetened up like in TKO, but...this turns into big fat straight-up herbal lavender, which I don't like. The longer it's on, the more herbal it gets. I enjoy the initial application, but the drydown is just too much for me.

  13. I'm so very glad I got a decant of this instead of a bottle. It's basically a slightly sweetened coffee on me with just the barest hint of cinnamon when it dries. It's nice, but I was hoping for a bit more chocolate, bit less coffee, and a lot more cinnamon. The throw is strong at first but fades to average, and it lasted for several hours.

  14. I basically got olive oil and beeswax. No sweet dry amber, no pastry, no pomegranate, no fig. Definitely not a foody scent on my skin except for the light touch of olive oil that appears upon initial drydown. It's just straight wax after about half an hour, and it stays waxy for several hours. The throw is light, and the scent lasts for at least 12 hours.

  15. Bright, crisp, tart, juicy apples. As the opium comes out, the apple becomes a bit darker, a bit creamier, with a dreamy-sleepytime-feel. It is pretty, but it's not something I can see myself reaching for often. The throw is average, and this fades quickly on my skin. It's gone completely within an hour.

  16. Mmmm. The pumpkin is just strong enough to be noticeable, but the white chocolate dominates this scent for me when it first goes on. I can also smell the sweet juicy tartness of the pomegranate, and as the oil dries the caramel comes out to play. Eventually all I can smell is white chocolate fudge drizzled generously with caramel. It's definitely yummy, and I think I want to eat myself, but I'm not sure if I really want to smell like this. The throw is VERY strong, and it seems to last for-freaking-ever (I put some on last night and could still smell it after I showered this morning!).
