    The Antikythera Mechanism

Imp Opinion Clean, a little musty from the tobacco. General sexy man smell coming about. This was the first tobacco scent I tried, and was surprised at how delicious it smelled. Reminds me of good pipe tobacco in a cold wet forest. Wet on Wrist Vanilla really comes out immediately, with tobacco and a sharp oak bringing up the rear. Dry Down Vanilla, though dark and tempered by warm tobacco, stays dominant for at least a half an hour before everything mellows together. Fade This one changes over an hour or two, very dynamic. After it settles, it's warm, smokey vanilla with only a hint of the woods. Feel A fall scent if I've ever smelled one, this brings to mind a workshop with the sun warming the wooden floors. The man who works there must have a weakness for vanilla pipe tobacco. Study smell, comforting and focused. Final Thoughts Yummy, big bottle on the way!

    Casanova

… Who says librarians can’t be sexy? A rakish blend of leather, anise, lavender, bergamot and amber with tonka, lemon peel and lusty patchouli. Imp Opinion This smells like a MAN in the best way possible! Leathery lavendar, but nothing flowery or herbal about that. Wet on Wrist Oh boy. This makes my mouth water in a strange and embarrassing way. I would put this on my man, but on my wrist I can sniff it all the time! Dry Down Casanova is blended so well I can't really pick out the independent notes or understand how they're working so well. As this dries, it retains all the yummy masculine scents of rich warm brown leather of a book and whatever combo of these other things that make me think of a slightly stubbled chin of a sexy rich older man. Fade Stays strong and true for about an hour, then wears to a delicate version of itself, with less leather and more herbal clean. Feel I don't think this is too masculine to wear if you like, although it would probably knock hoards of women to the floor on a good looking guy. I would follow this smell to Hades. Final Thoughts Try this for the man in your life, or for yourself, or for your body pillow, or your dog.

    Tombstone

A celebration of one of the first commercially produced perfumes of America's Old West. A rugged, warm blend of vanilla, balsam and sassafras layered over Virginia cedar. Imp Opinion cedar/basalm strong, just a slight bit of vanilla and sassafras coming in at the end. (Sassafras is what makes rootbeer smell spicy and earthy) Wet on Wrist This imediately makes my mouth water- very chocolate tootsie pop at first. This is likely the mix of vanilla and sassafras. A close inhale reveals a chocolaty sauna (cedar). If this had some horsehay or leather smells, I'd be in cowgirl heaven. Dry Down The wood really blends nicely with the sassafras. First hour this surrounds me in a spicy rootbeer vanilla cloud, the next four hours this goes strong as a sweet woodsy scent. Fade One of the longest lasting I've had, settled after an hour and stayed strong for at least 5. Couldn't resist reapplying, so I don't know how long it could last. Feel This is energizing in an exploratory, desert way. Kind of dusty, romantic. Not really foody or fizzy despite the rootbeer smells. It's too earthy for that. Final Thoughts Definitely buying again for when I need a little boost of confidence!

    Cockaigne

Imp Opinion Buttery, not quite movie popcorn smelling, but almost there. If you've smelled Penny Dreadful, you might know what I mean. Little bit of almond here. Wet on Wrist MMMMMMM, yummy. Buttery cakes, kind of shortbread smelling. The wine comes through for me as the sharpness that lasts on your breath after a sip of good dry red wine. Not boozy at all Dry Down My grandmother's kitchen smells like this sometimes, half-empty wine glasses, ameretti cookie crumbs, pie crust. Sweet buttery cake, almonds, warm wine. Fade I usually have to sniff my wrists to smell any scent I've applied, but this I can smell while I'm typing, even after two hours. Far away scent is almonds and a sharp wine, the gentle butter cake comes through on closer inspection. Feel Low lit Italian grandma's kitchen. For me, then, this is comforting and quietly passionate. Final Thoughts I love the idea of a boozy cake, we'll see after a good slathering if this will be my cake smell!

    Intrigue

A sultry, exotic scent that inspires devious plotting and clandestine affairs. It is a scent painted in artifice, veiled in deceit, and slithering with whispered secrets. Black palm, with cocoa, fig and shadowy wooded notes. Imp Opinion Masculine palmy wood, slight touch of fig/cocoa at end only. Wet on Wrist Apparently I rubbed a freshly sharpened pencil across my wrists. The wood really overpowers any discernible cocoa/fig, but they must be keeping the scent sweet rather than straight wood. Dry Down After 10 minutes this goes blissfully soft fruit and wood, really gentle. Intrigue is a good name, this is what an exotic librarian in a spy film would smell like. Different tries have gotten different results, some days more woody, some days more chocolaty. Fade Blend lasts for about an hour before drying into a really nice palm wood (a little fruity, sweet wood) with a hint of chocolate. Feel Sultry and swank when it is palm/cocoa/fig, bookish if it goes pencil shavings. Really a toss up for what I'll get on any given day. Could smell marvelous on men, but soft and warm enough for a woman. Final Thoughts Not going to be buying it again unless my Imp settles into more palm/cocoa and less wood. Woodsy smells tend to amp on me, and while I like them, this isn't forest, this is just wood.

    Juke Joint

Imp Opinion Bourbon! Wet on Wrist I could not wear this to work, it makes me feel heady and sloppy- perhaps a few too many scent-memories at work here. Dry Down This dries down really quickly and the mint and sugar are nowhere to be found. More than anything, this makes my head and nose feel like there is alcohol, the actual scent goes away pretty quickly. Fade Fades fast. I live in a hot, humid environment and thought this would work, but it practically disappeared and left traces of a sloppy night out behind. Feel Dizzy and sloppy Final Thoughts If you are trying to channel a Southern Belle who'd used a little too much liquid courage, check out Juke Joint.

    Dana O'Shee

Imp Opinion In the Imp, I was thoroughly disappointed with the harsh almond and a strange after-smell of coconut. Wet on Wrist The almond smell was harsh and overpowered anything else for a few minutes, then mellowed to pleasant marzipan sugar. No trace of the coconut from here or ever again. Dry Down Heaven! For years I have been trying to find a scent that evokes the smell of fresh-cut hay and grains, and this is it! Sweet, yummy, and earthy/warm without being cloying, ultra-feminine, or too foody as I feared. Fade Fades into soft and sweet grains! This is part oatmeal, hayloft, and honey. Scent lasts for 4ish hours on skin (after an hour I have to put my nose to my skin to smell it, but I ration the heck out of this and I absorb scents more than most) Feel Sweet-earthy-delectable and sexy. Very soothing, natural, and warm. Final Thoughts If you like honey, milk, oatmeal, grain, hay, or gentle baked smells, try this for sure. Great in hot, humid weather and will probably be comforting in the dead of winter.
