  1. Persephone ITB: pomegranate and rose. Very clearly so. Smells quite wonderful, light and fresh.

On: A strange musty smell on me, what a total transformation, and I really hope it gets better, as it was lovely in the imp.

Dry: The rose finally came out, but unfortunately not the good kind of rose on me. This was sour roses, which is sad.

  2. Pannychis ITB: Sweetened baby oil. I wish I knew what it is that my nose detects as baby oil. I get the same not in the Voodoo blends.

On: floral and almost harsh, although the jasmine seems to be being held in check by something. The throw is soft but strong. Like plumeria - perhaps it's the moonflower, I don't know what that note smells like.

Dry: Sweet tropical blooms, very very pretty, but a bit on the strong side for day use. This will be ideal for special occassions, as it is quite beautiful.

  3. Very nice indeed. Pretty much if a scent has grapefruit, I'm guaranteed to like it. This one may even have toppled Aizen-Myoo from the top of my list. The plum is making this remind me a lot of Midwinter's Eve. I'd like to compare the two side-by-side to see how similar they actually are.

  4. Kurukulla ITB: very sweet, with a powdered drink mix (to keep trademarks out of it) smell.

    On: Sweetened baby oil.

Dry: Sour, sour, sour! Looking at the notes, I think it must be the roses, which more often than not go rancid on me. Sour roses totally drowned out the poor lotus, which never even had a chance to go bubblegummy on me.

  5. Eve ITB: honey sweet light florals.

On: oh dear, instantly sour on my skin - must be rose or jasmine in here.

Dry: ah, it's rose. Actually, most of the sour part has faded down, and it's rather a nice rose with a sharp resin or wood smell - probably the ylang ylang souring as usual. Very faint on me though.

  6. Erato ITB: sweet and kind of minty.

On: I can't pick out any individual notes in this yet, throw is a sweet floral, then a spicy note comes out. Close to my wrists it smells like walking into a Thai restaurant.

Dry: spicy soap. Looking at the notes, I'm guessing that's the roses and ylang ylang going sour on me. At least I'm learning what doesn't work on me! :P

  7. Calliope ITB: lemony and fresh smelling.

On: definitely smells of lemons on me - perhaps the verbena is going there. Like home-made lemonaid, when you include the peels as well as the juice.

Dry: lovely fresh lemony scent. Looking at the note description, I have no idea where I'm getting so much lemon from. I also pick out just a hint of honey, but it's always in the background. I love, love, love this one! Did fade rather quickly, so I'm glad I snagged a bottle on ebay!

  8. Szepasszony. What a fun word to spell!

ITB it is fruity with a hint of ozone.

On: lots of ozone with a hint of floral.

Dry: A crisp, ozoney floral. This is all sharp edges, with nothing soft about it at all. That said, I like it quite a lot, and have already bought a bottle.

  9. Pain ITB: spicy, like peppermint. Guess that's the pennyroyal.

On: very sharp and minty - then it smells just like walking into a Borders bookstore - like being surrounded by paper. How odd.

Dry: very unsettling, like a camphor and mint scent. Painful, in fact. :P

  10. Kuang Shi ITB: acquatic floral with a faint hint of something spicy. Ginger perhaps?

On: oh, pretty! Fruity and gingery - like a compote - this is delish!

Dry: Something smells so familiar - almost like lemongrass. Light and clean smelling, very nice indeed!

  11. Snake Charmer ITB: rich, like vanilla syrup.

On: a resiny smell comes to the fore, but I still mostly get vanilla from this.

Dry: vanilla with a hint of sassafras - like vanilla root beer. I can see why this is so popular! Ultimately, patchouli makes its presence felt, and not in a good way on me. :P I'll keep the imp, but fortunately don't feel a burning need to track down a bottle.

  12. Lurid ITB: incensy and masculine.

On: getting sweeter - still incense and cedar?

Dry: Sweeter still and fruity, like apricots, although I know that must be the currant. Just a hair too far on the masculine side for me. I think the combination of lavender, musk and ozone is what is making it smell masculine to me.

  13. ITB: sweet and crisp, citrussy.

On: something in here is reminding me of the linden blossom in The Unicorn, which means that I love this! It does have a bit of a sharper edge to it than The Unicorn.

Dry: If I hadn't already discovered The Unicorn, I would be head over heels for this one. On me, the two are extremely similar, with the Unicorn being just a bit sweeter, which I like. But this is an extremely close second, and may even be better for the summer months.

  14. Dragon's Hide ITB: sweet florals, like honeysuckle.

On: stronger and spicy, almost like jasmine. Oddly, this still doesn't smell like DBR at all to me.

Dry: A medium floral. Why I get floral from DBR, leather and smoke, I have no idea. But that's what it is on me.

  15. Moon Rose ITB: a nice floral with a bare hint of rose.

On: ah, there's the rose, sweet and light.

Dry: like most rose blends on me, this one goes sour quickly, alas. It was nice at first, and someone with better body chemistry for roses than I will love it.

  16. Black Lotus ITB: extremely sweet and fruity.

On: an odd smell, like fruit-flavored candy dust.

Dry: sweet, sweet lotus. No doubt about that, but not bubblegummy as it usually goes on me. More of a candy smell this time. Interestingly, I never did get any sandalwood, which usually completely dominates a scent on me.

  17. Baneberry ITB: initially sweet berries, then a pungently green scent.

On: slightly soapy, but crisp and green. Like pruning in the garden.

Dry: Sweet berries with an edge. It's an interesting scent, but I can't decide if I like it or not.

  18. A tragic heroine from German lore. In despair over a faithless lover, she threw herself into the Rhine. In death, she has become a siren that haunts that river to this day, luring sailors to their doom. Neroli, sandalwood, ylang ylang.

Loralei ITB: sharp florals - almost unpleasant to my nose.

    On: sour and very cologney.

Dry: sweetened up, much more pleasant. Throw is sweetly floral. Up close to wrists it is still sour, however. The sandalwood behaved this time, but I don't think ylang ylang really likes me.

  19. Jezebel ITB: honey and nothing but.

On: crisp and clean - like freshly mown hay. Why I get hay is anybody's guess.

Dry: the throw is honey sweet, but up close is more like baby oil. Not unpleasant, but I already have several honey scents without the undertone.

  20. Desire ITB: patchouli and fruit.

On: warm and rich, something honey sweet.

Dry: sandalwood incense. I'm guessing that's the patchouli and teak going wonky on me. Apple, bergamot and vanilla I would have loved, but never got, alas.
