  1. I've read from somewhere that you'll receive an e-mail that tells you when your item is shipped?

I've ordered twice now and have never received a shipping confirmation, so I've just been guestimating how long it should take priority mail to travel between California and Washington. According to USPS:

    • Now you can have delivery of documents and packages made in an average of 2 to 3 days.

This is weird. If Priority Mail only takes about 3 days, and I'm only a state away from California, why has it been over a week with no sign of my stuff? It sounds like the shipper is dropping the ball, though it'd be nice to get one of those new-fangled confirmations that seems to be all the rage these days.

I got an email notification from USPS that my package had shipped on the 7th, and it was recieved on the 9th. This was my first order, and this fits with everything everyone else has been saying about getting an email when their order is actually shipped. From what I understand, CCNow only shows an order as 'shipped' when the lab 'requests' the order, or receives the order, or however it should be said. That only seems to indicate that the order is then in BPAL's hands, rather than in CCNow's, and is not an indication of the actual shipping date. It confused me too.

  2. Oh, my goddess was I worried about this one. At first sniff from the imp, I was afraid I wouldn't like it. I'm not sure what it was .. possibly the lilac? But it was strong! I put it away to wear something else for work, in fact.

But I came home, washed off my Old Shanghai, and opted to then try dear Bruja .. and despite how almost cloying it was when wet, it dried within about 20-30 minutes to something much more pleasant. I could definitely smell the amber, and I was quite quite pleased.

I went to bed with this on, and here now 6 hours later it's still very strong. (Yes, I should go back to bed.) I can imagine using this a lot .. and I'm thinking of turning it into a solid perfume, to be easily carried with me!

  3. Actually.  I had a business that used CCnow and that company does not arbitrarily assign things as shipped.  The business (BPAL) goes into the CCnow account and marks things as shipped themselves.  CCnow will not charge a card until the order is marked as shipped.  So sorry, but it is someone at BPAL that is marking these things as shipped in CCNow, not CCnow itself. As it says on CCNow's website

    *snip*

Regardless of that, I'd rather more of my money be going to Beth, and not to a third company.

And to be honest, I don't think anyone said that CCNow 'arbitrarily' marked things as Shipped. But I do think that' their system is rather impractical. Considering they're not shppiing anything it'd likely be better for them if they marked things as 'Sent to Seller' or something.

    *shrugs*

  4. This one was the very first one I tried on myself after getting my first order, and while I like the smell, I have to be very careful how much I use. The rose tends to be very strong. I kept thinking it was almost baby-powdery, but that wasn't quite right.

I think though it reminded me, now that I think of it, of a blend Jason made me at Garden Botanika, back when we actually had a shop in the mall, and could make our own blends. I loved that blend; used the heck out of it too, until it became too alcohol-y.

Old Rome is strong on me. After an hour and a half it was still very powerful. Because it's a rose scent, that can become a little overpowering. I'm going to try it again, and see if it mellows better next time. Like ladylatemar, I think I'm going to see if it works better in the late summer/early fall.

  5. I wasn't sure about this one, as it wasn't something I imagined working with me. This was one Beth added to my first order for me. But she was so dead on.

I love it. It goes on a bit oddly on me, perhaps too lemony .. or maybe it's the tea note that's so strong. I'm not sure. I just know that it was surprising at first. After 20 minutes or so it had mellowed. It reminded me of lemonade on a summer day. Very cleen, very crisp. Not what I thought I'd like, but I do.

Now that it's been a few hours, it's not nearly as strong, and I think I'm defnitely smelling the honeysuckle now. This one is for certain a keeper .. probably in at least a 5ml bottle.

  6. Beth .. in a distantly related note, a friend of mine runs a shop (I'm not sure where) and has been looking to sell oils there. I sent her to the website, and told her to try emailing you. Not sure how you feel about selling in retail shops, but I thought it might be a good thing.

    hope I'm not overstepping!

  7. I've never had a problem with Paypal myself, but CCnow says my order shipped on the 1st of April, and no sign of the package yet. we did, however, just get and email from USPS that said it's been shipped, so that's what I'm going by.

From what I can tell., CCNow, puts up the date when they decide to take out the money from your account, but that's not the actual shipping date. And it's why I'm going to PayPal from now on.

  8. Quick update: we're still on a 10-14 day backlog. It seems like this is going to continue to be the average ship time until we make this into some sort of corporate, million-employee conglomerate. =P We cannot seem to get things blended and assembled any faster than this.

That's fine, I'm sure, I'm just curious now if the shipping confirmation from CCNow is accurate, since someone above (don't ask me to check, I'm tiiiired) said that it's not always the case?

Edited to change 'spipping' to 'shipping'. I really must sleep now.

  9. Tigger, are you using the "papow" address? That one doesn't work anymore. The "cupcake@blackphoenixalchemylab.com" should be working OK.

Jeez, I hope it's working OK!

I'm guessing that was directed at me? *grins* t-y-g-h-e-r, not Tigger. :P

    Buth thank you anyway!
