  1. For me Paris was at first all lavendar. a bit spicy, but mainly lavendar and strong. But the lavendar quickly faded, then I had a soft sweet spicy blend.

It's quite nice. It isn't me at all. But it is very nice.

  2. Dee came as a free sample from the lab. I have searched the forum and the lab site, and can't find it anywhere. If it is actually released, then mods please accept my apology and move Dee to its rightful place.

Dee is masculine. At first I thought maybe vetiver, maybe leather. But on my skin it's a nice manly cologne which smells of neither vetiver nor leather. I tried to get my spouse to try to suss out some notes... to no avail.

    So there you have it.

    Dee: a manly fragrance.

    Merged with existing thread --Shollin

  3. for me pontarlier is lilac. fresh beautiful lilac.

if i think about it, i can tell there are other notes: rose, some herbs. but mainly lilac.

    it's very pretty. very springtime.

i think it is making me sneeze though.

  4. OH MY!

First whiff out of the bottle. COCOA!

Wet on me, cocoa and warm spicy-sexiness.

Dry on me, warm spicy sexiness with a touch of dark cocoa.

I'm one of the people on whom snake oil turns to Play Doh. Not in Boomslang, though! Oh it's so beautiful! And it lasts and lasts and lasts. I tried this on as soon as I got home from work last night, and could still smell it this morning.

    LOVE IT!

  5. my experience is akin to Sterling Spider's review above. It starts out quite floral with a resiny background, but the florals quickly fade into the background. The resins are so rich and delicious. I want to smell like this on fancy nights, a dinner party or a romantic evening. FANTASTIC.

  6. Wow Dr. John Seward, you are a soft and smoky fellow indeed.

This blend is a perfect daytime blend for me. It's somehow romantic though too. So I don't get lost in the mundane workaday world, lol.

I tried this last night, and it disappeared far too quickly.

So this morning I really slathered it on. It's been about 4 hours now and the scent is almost totally gone. If I sniff really closely at my wrist, I can smell it and it still smells lovely. I guess this is one I'll have to carry with me and reapply at lunchtime or something.

  7. I traded for a half bottle of samhainophobia and am glad i did.

It is beautiful. So warm and dark. At first it is quite vetiverful and manly. but it calms down and down and down. It is like a deeper version of Samhain. The darker side of Samhain if you will.

I've had it on for about 8 hours now, and it is just the balsam/leaf notes. Really close and autumnal.

    Lovely.

    Unique.

  8. Oh Jersey Devil how I've longed for you.

The scent is much sweeter and softer than I'd imagined.

Beautiful sweet, soft, berrypine. I can't smell the tomato leaf at all. But it must be there.

To me it doesn't smell like the pine barrens actually smell, but it's evocative of the place.

    GREAT!

  9. Red Phoenix, I love you.

At the very beginning, this is 100% cassia. Smells like cinnamon, but not quite the same. Then it morphs and slowly becomes absolutely beautiful. Mature and fantastic. I stepped outside after having put this on and the air around me smelled so alluring. This one has amazing wafting power.

It goes through a very plummy phase on my skin. and settles down to a rich, complex tobacco mixture.

    Thanks Lab!

  10. I traded with Stumbeline for Devils' Night, and I am so glad that I did.

This scent is so beautiful and complex and sexy. I am in love. At first it is very sweet and fruity and smokey, but it dries to a very light musky scent with a little bit of smokiness and fruit in the background. I am completely in love.

It definitely requires re-application. I may make a small container of lotion so that I can layer this scent with itself and try to extend the wear time.

  11. Unbelievably fantastic. Huge wet rose and a faint trace of leather. Normally I don't like leather, but it blends beautifully with the rose.

Whip is thus far the greatest rose blend I have tried.

  12. Moxie was really great for me. At first sniff it was PEZ Candy, and I kept making my bf sniff me and smell the PEZ. But then a strong grapefruit came through, and it was so beautiful.

I wore it to my friend Tom's house to watch him shoot off some fireworks. The fireworks were a disaster, backfiring into the yard and nearly killing all of us. Luckily the only one even slightly injured was my boyfriend and he just got 2 bruises. But I'm digress... At Tom's house, I was much more sociable and less nervous than usual.

Moxie really gave me some Moxie!

  13. I put off trying alecto for the longest time. I'm not sure why. I think it's because I didn't want to be "unceasing in anger". Luckily this doesn't make me angry at all. It is warm and woodsy and the raspberry leaf really adds an unusual touch.

    Two thumbs up!

  14. For me black annis was mainly anise and something moist. I guess the moist was the cave lichen. The scent isn't nearly as frightening as the description. It is definitely unique!

Several hours after applying, I was going to some friends' house and just didn't feel comfortable with the Black Annis. I layered some Xiuhtecuhtli on top of it and it is absolutely brilliant! A fantastic combination.

Black Annis is an interesting blend indeed.
