    Thanks everyone for the recs!

I had an imp of Azathoth hanging around so that gave that another go. I like it, but on me it's almost entirely a strong cedar scent. Too bad, a big hit of tangerine would have been great

I'll poke into the reviews for your other suggestions and see what appeals!

    🍊💛🍊

Is your imp very aged?  Mine is lab fresh and is all about the tangerine for the first hour with hints of cedar and vetiver in the background.  Then those 3 notes are equal for a few hours and deep drydown is a light cedar.  I find that aging isn't good for most citrus scents, especially in imp form.

Bumping this thread to ask: are there some good citrusy blends that also lean masculine? GC or not impossible to find LE would be great.

Maybe with some sort of woody note, or just fresh without being overly sweet or floral? I'm trying to find something that might be nice to wear over the hot summer without being too cloying.

A few that come to my mind are:

Embalming Fluid- A light, pure scent: white musk, green tea, aloe and lemon.

Azathoth- His scent is high-pitched and screeching, both impenetrably dark and searingly bright with the clarity of madness: tangerine, saffron, vetiver, black amber and cedarwood.

Villian- A classic Victorian men’s cologne: a lavender fougere, with hints of lilac, lime, and citrus musk.

Dorian may work but I find it can get a bit sweet in the heat...

  3. Have you tried Morocco?

"The intoxicating perfume of exotic incenses wafting on warm desert breezes. Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia."

Eclipse is also a nice spicy scent, that doesn't overpower in the GC:

All the glory, warmth and majesty of the sun -- darkened. A delicious blend of bitter almond, vanilla, frankincense and heliotrope, with a drop of cinnamon.

  4. The first scent that comes to my mind is Green Tree Viper(Snake Oil with four mints, bergamot, and green tea.). My concern would be that Snake Oil turns to powder on many.

I second Anesthesia for a mellow herbal mint and the Lick It scents are nice for sweet vanilla mint.

There are so many awesome tea scents! Dorian is amazing but out of stock at the moment. Tea and music is a nice tea and wood scent. I quite like A Little More Tea.

That's all I can think of right now!

  5. Thanks sarandipitee! Mine cleared customs yesterday, it's good to know I'm not the only one it's happened to!

Update June 1: The package arrived with no customs fees , yay! I had stopped ordering from the lab when I heard they started shipping with DHL(I loathe them), so so glad it's back to USPS!

  6. Is the lab shipping international with USPS again? The tracking number I got was for USPS and today I have an orange alert saying "Your item arrived at a facility in CANADA on May 31, 2017 at 7:01 am.". Does anyone know what that means? I thought it meant it was attempted delivery but when I checked the mail it wasn't there. Thanks in advance for any help!

  7. I want MOAAAR Ozone...

But, is this wishful thinking on my part? I'm not sure I've even smell the ozone I'm jonesing for in my one ozoney scent - Lightning. I adore my Lightning, but it reminds me mostly of rain, which is great, but lacks actual lightning. But what I really want is that electricity slashing through ozone. A tangy burning. Maybe I can layer something on top of my lightning to get that added punch that I seek?

I want the smell of getting too close to one of those old CRT TVs. I want the sharp electricity of lightning cutting through in the air. I want to smell...electricity, I guess? Is it really electricity I'm looking for?

Every time I review ozoney scents, people keep mentioning dryer sheets, so I'm wary of trying ozone heavy scents. How would you describe the lab's ozone? Does any lab scent have a true ozone feel?

Any recs for the most electric/ozone scent - even if "ozone" or that feeling isn't the lab's intent?

I honestly don't find the lab's ozone note to smell like real ozone. That being said it's probably not possible to replicate the smell of electrically charged oxygen!😆 I view it as a conceptual scent like water, air etc.

  8. I have a batch variation with my two bottles of L'Autunno- both released and only available during the same limited timeframe. One is an orangey red, and the other is clear, slightly yellowed. The orangey red version is deeper, darker (heavier on the smoke, myrrh and patchouli), and smells more cologne-y masculine, while the slightly yellowed one is closer to a 2008 empty (of the same perfume) I have. They both dry down similar, but the journey to get from wet to dry is wildly different... so much that one bottle is unwearable while the other is wear-all-the-time material. It kind of makes me wonder there are other scents I should gamble batch variation on and just try again, XD ahh neverending cycle. You think youre done with a scent, but then learn that's never the case <__>

I try not to torture myself this way but the thought does cross my mind, especially when the reviews seem divided into two different scents!

  9. Quick question, do the snakepits have different labels? I was going through past BPAL etsy sales and Cottonmouth looks a lot different than what the bottles I've been seeing on ebay. The bottles I usually see are hot pink with the snake on the right hand side. This is the BPAL etsy cottonmouth bottle I saw: http://www.etsy.com/...tion/132158804?

My bottle of Cottonmouth is from '09 and it has the etsy label. I've had multiple bottles of a few other snake pits and haven't noticed any label variations.

  10. Seconding The Bow and crown of Conquest but my favorite sexy cedar blend is VILF- Vampire smut: patchouli-infused honey, red musk, red sandalwood, red ginger, pink pepper, Peru balsam, dark Eastern florals, Himalayan cedar, smoky vanilla, bitter clove, and leather.

  11. I'm looking at diluting the two scents I bought recently since they're both a bit too strong on their own. I like the rollerball idea, but when I wear perfumes I usually do the spray-in-the-air-and-walk-through-it method. I know one or two of the posts talked about a spray thread, but there wasn't a link and the search function isn't coming up with anything for me.

Has anyone ever used BPAL in an atomizer? Obviously a carrier oil would be too thick, so what would be a good thing to use instead? A google search just gives results for diluting pure essential oils, not perfume oils.

If this is the wrong place, feel free to banish me

Hi!00000294.gif There is a thread on atomizers here http://www.bpal.org/...1-parfum-spray/ with lots of helpful info! These threads can be hard to find but nothing to banish over!00000288.gif

  12. Have you tried A Nocturnal Reverie? It's from last years halloweenies, I found it quite sugary the notes are: Violet musk and oudh with black amber, ambergris, agarwood, black currant, dark musk, fig, and lavender incense.

  13. Banshee Beat was actually a retail only blend sold out of Urban Outfitters. I don't know what the "space 15 twenty" means but my bottles are from the second release and don't say it so your bottle must be from the original release(score!).

    ETA: Lookie what I found!

Located in Los Angeles, Space 15 Twenty is a unique retail setting, which creates an opportunity for Urban Outfitters to collaborate with creative brands that they find inspiring and interesting. Within the 12,690 square foot Urban Outfitters store, they showcase distinctive designers with a new pop-up shop every month. Each store is connected by an outdoor courtyard, which includes a performance space and adjacent gallery, both of which encourage participation in the curated environment. Aligning with local music, film and art venues, the courtyard and gallery present a rotating cast of musicians and artists.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab has created two scents exclusively for Space15Twenty: Sweet Life, a luxurious blend of gardenia, pikaki, ylang ylang, and Casablanca lily, and Banshee Beat, a tousled, sexy mix of patchouli, vanilla, and hemp.

  14. Is there a review page for the Pirate Flag scent from October 31st 2007 (an event exclusive I think but I can't find it when I check that area)? I might be looking in the wrong area, but would appreciate a kindly nudge in the right direction, or indeed, what to actually call the scent.

If it's just a skull and crossbones on the label with no writing, it might be Jolly Roger

No, I'm pretty sure that it is the forum only scent that I linked to above. It was made in honor of Beth's and Puddin's wedding - Pirate Moon.

LOL, you're probably right, I forgot that Pirate Moon didn't have the scent name on it either but the date is there!
