I'm pretty horrified about the price---48.00 for eight imps?????

Wow! Wet this is a mix of tart granny smith apples and macintosh apples. First dry: cold, icy, almost mentholy over apples and light floral. (The coldness makes my nose tingle, but I'm weird and I like that) 5 min: White florals over icy tart apples. 10 min: ozone & light tart apples. Final: ozone, very light florals and the apple is there, but not as tart as it was, it's softer and a little sweeter. **Now I'm getting the glass. It reminds me of the glass scent from House of Mirrors, but instead of amber, it's glass with apples. Wow, this was a quick morpher on my skin. It stays appley throughout, but everytime I sniffed my arm, there was another note emerging. I got this today and couldn't wait to get home so I tried it at work. I'm sure my co-workers are wondering why I'm huffing my arm. I'm so glad I was able to get this, what a different and cool scent.

The description sounded lovely, so I had to try it. I've had bad luck with cream/caramel/honey because they amp and become burnt sugar. Not here! Wet it is cream and floral, and a little honey. Dry: Ambery caramel. Just lovely. It doesn't amp, it stays nice on my skin. I'm very pleased, and a little surprised! A 2 bottle oil.

When I read the list of ingredients, I didn't think it would work on me. I only got a bottle because I was doing a decant circle. First thing I noticed: How much the label lady looks like Shell. In the bottle: sharp pine pitch and patchouli. On my skin: pine pitch, still very sharp. Then......... It starts to dry and the smokey vanilla and tobacco come out. I don't get any patchouli, which is good. As it drys down, I get skin musk tempered by vanilla, but the tobacco keeps it from being foody. It's more mature, not sweet vanilla at all. As it totally settles, I get skin musk and tobacco, with a whiff of the vanilla. This is fantastic. I think this will be the Snake Charmer of Carnival Diabolique. I need more bottles.

Wet: Absinthe and maybe the opium smoke. On skin: Absinthe, scorched sugar and florals. And then............. The rosewater bitch-slaps everyone else to the back. The absinthe makes many valiant attempts to come back to the forefront, but is unceremoniously slapped down by the rose. My skin amps rose horribly. We have a love/hate relationship. It loves my skin, I hate how it amps and takes over every blend. I was hoping that rosewater wouldn't be so aggressive, but no luck. It's a really great fragrance, and I love it in the bottle. It's just my bad skin chemistry won't let it work. Rats.

I love Bayou. It's definitely green, but it's more mysterious than clean. It might be worth an imp.

The soap is just as perfect as the oil. The scent is definitely there, it's just light because it's that kind of fragrance. Snow White is etheral, not an in-your-face kind of scent. I find it very true to the oil, though I've only used it on my hands so far. I didn't notice how much it lathered, I was so enthralled with the silky feeling of the lather on my hands. I'm just afraid 2 bars may not be enough. I should buy more.

I agree with the reviewers that dubbed this "sparkly". It's an adult sparkly, almost regal,not a child one, if that makes any sense. Someone else mentioned that it is a "distant" scent, and I think that is very accurate. On my skin, it stays very close, I occasionally got whiffs of amazing fragrance, and then realized it was me! I get aquatic from this. I was sniffing my wrist, and trying to figure out how to describe the spicy scent. It's not hot spice, it was like a group of quiet spices playing quietly over a watery scent. Then, it hit me. On my skin, Sea of Tranquility is a watery Morocco. If you took the gorgeous sandalwood-y, incence-y, spices of Morooco, subtracted the Vanilla, and added an etheral fresh water scent, that is Sea of Tranquility on my skin. Add this to the group of new aquatic-y scents I'm loving including: Calico Jack & Mary Read.

Athenae is so right. This is the love child of Skadi and Dublin. Seriously. The slushy snow, the pine, the berries, and I get florals. If you despaired like I did when Dublin was discontinued, you need to hoard this one. I'm going to!

Snow White 2007 is freakin' AWESOME!!! I loved 2004, liked 2005, but 2007 is PERFECTION! The slightly plastic-y note that happens on my skin with 04 and 05 (which I do like) DOESN'T HAPPEN with 07. Plus, great staying power. I sweat, showered, and STILL could smell it on me. If you are on the fence, get it. You won't be disappointed. This one is going to be HOARDED!

I was slow to come around to Snake Oil, in order for it to work on me, it has to be well-aged. The only Snake Pits that work for me are (in order of love): Banded Sea Snake Boomslang Coral Snake Cottonmouth Of all of them, Cottonmouth took me the most by surprise. Florals and I are not friends. Floral perfumes just give me a headache. Not Cottonmouth. It's stays pretty demure on my skin, almost sinking in and becoming part of my skin, but it still has a really nice throw. I didn't expect to love Boomslang either, because The Candy Butcher didn't really work on me. The cocoa note works without the cream. It smells like a dark chocolate Snake Oil on my skin. When I wear Snake Oil, I feel slinky and mysterious. Boomslang makes me feel the same way, but I feel a little lighter. Not as darkly mysterious, but still sexy mysterious. I'm almost glad the whole pit didn't work for me, because I wouldn't be able to hoard all of them!

Ack, this cold is making me forgetful. My other great aquatic love is Calico Jack....before Mary Read and The Phoenix that was my fav. Calico Jack smells manly, while Mary Read and The Phoenix smell more feminine on me.

I am always on the hunt for the perfect aquatic, my favorite scent. I like Caliban, but my absolute love right now is Mary Read. She is gorgeous. Also, The Phoenix, it's an LE, but I get the most gorgeous Caribbean water from it. I end up huffing my wrists all day. (Which can be a little awkward in the office) I didn't like the Pool of Tears, or Black Opal!

Now that I'm in esthetician school, I can't wear nail polish on my fingers. I got Mme. Moriarty when it first came out, but hadn't had a chance to use it. Well, last night I painted my toenails with it, and boy, am I impressed! It didn't stink...in fact thinking about it today, I don't really remember much of a smell at all. I used no base coat, and no top coat, only one thin layer of Mme. Moriarty, and it covered nicely, with no streaks, and it dried really fast. I'm moving, and started packing, and then thought, "Oh, no, my toes!". I was sure they would be smeared, but they were perfect. Love it!

In the bottle: pumpkiny cheesecaky grahahm crackers. On skin: pumpkins and cheesecake. Dry: Cheesecake with a slight background of pumpkin. After an hour: Cheesecake with some spices. This is lovely. Foodie/sweet scents usually amp horribly on my skin, but not here. (Well, it did a little, but never got to the headache/nausea stage I usually get with the food notes.) This is what I wanted Beaver Moon 05 to be on me. It's funny, Beaver Moon 07 did not work on me, but most of the Inquisition scents are behaving on my skin. It's a keeper!

It's marshmallows in a bag, powder and all. I wasn't dying to try this one, but was happy to get it in one of my Inquisitions. In the bottle, it was nice, but I wasn't overly impressed. It's just marshmallows, you know? But on my skin it is lovely. After an hour drydown, it is perfect marshmallows with the powder covering. It also really reminds me of Snow White 04 (a HUGE favorite). Snow White dries down on me with a vanilla plastic note. I do like it, but Marshmallow Poof dries down to that vanilla note WITHOUT the plastic. This might be my favorite of the Inquisition scents! (Ah, the irony.)

Ooh, I like this. Foodie scents have a tendency to amp badly on my sin, but not here. In the bottle it smells custardy w/spices. On my skin and the beginning of drydown really smells like Lush Creamy Candy bubble bar. (Love that smell) After an hour: it smells of nutmeg and maybe cinnamon. Custardy, but slightly manly. I like it.

Oh Yes.....this is an outstanding aquatic. I love Mary Read, even though it is a little masculine on me. On my skin, this is Mary Read's more delicate sister. I smell ocean, but not briney ocean. It is definitely Caribbean water, not overpowering, but the scent of ocean that is carried on the breeze to you. Almost flowery, but either not really there (my imagination) or so expertly blended that it is not really identifieable. Maybe it is the lime mixed with the ocean breeze? As it dries I get some spice, which deepens the aquatic, but it isn't overly SNAKE OIL!!! It is a lovely anchor, and reminds me slightly of Banded Sea Snake, but although the association is there, it is absolutely not BSS #2. I am so glad I got two bottles---this one may be a hoarder for me!

In bottle: Cherry graham crackers. On skin: Cheesecake, cherry, graham cracker crust, strawberry that smells a little plasticky. 1st drydown: the cherry recedes and it's cheesecake and plasticky strawberry. after 10 minutes: where's the cheesecake? I've just got strawberry--still plasticky. It just doesn't work for me. The plasticky smell reminds me of the vanilla plastic I get from Snow White, which I adore. But in strawberry my nose just rebels against the plastic. I wanted this to work on me SO BADLY. The 05 version didn't work for me either, my skin just destroys foody scents. I'm almost afraid to try my Inquisition oils...

I had some problems with recent orders and the wonderful Puddin' sent this as an extra in an order! In the bottle: Strong red, wet apple, and sweetness underneath. On my skin: Bright apple, reminds me of the apple in Creepy, and white sugar. After a few minutes: The white sugar has moved to the forefront, with some light caramel, the apple has really receded. After about 15 minutes: The apple has been totally beaten down by the burnt caramel. My skin amps foody, sweet scents fiercely. I thought the apple could fight it, but it succumbed. Very nice. I wish my skin didn't amp sweets quite so much, I would love to smell like an apple cobbler. But wait!!!! After about 1/2 hour, the caramel loses a lot of the burnt, and the apple pops it's head back in. Now I smell like grandma's kitchen!

My good ones: Snake Oil (well aged) Morocco--someone has to get close to you, and it smells like saffron vanilla on me Snow Moon-makes me feel kick-ass Cottonmouth -sexy florals grounded by a wisp of Snake Oil Calico Jack - I feel like a pirate queen I'll add more as I think of them!

The scents I think of when I think Amber are: House of Mirrors and The Emathides. I get a warm, lovely amber from both of these. Do others get that, or is it just my weird skin?

What a great thread! My 8 year old niece likes BPAL. She really likes Thunder Moon. It's so funny--my sister and I are completely different, and her child is a mix of me and our other sister. (The stubbornness, collecting rocks on the beach, etc.) My sister just rolls her eyes when I let Kelsi sniff stuff, little does she know that I am going to enable her for Christmas--this thread has given me some great ideas! I'll have her a full-blown addict before she's ten. Once the baby gets a little bigger, I'll introduce her too. I almost feel badly for my sister, because the family calls the baby "Katie-Amy" because she is just like I was as a child. And, no, it isn't meant in a good way. What do they know? I wasn't a brat, I was just spirited.

I tried this on last night, and am in love. I am huge aquatic fan, I love the ocean scents. This does not disappoint. Initially I get ocean with sassparilla. It's a fairly light scent on me, I think this will be a slatherer. As it dries down I get more salt, and some rum and leather. It's what I wanted Jolly Roger to be. I'm not a patchouli fan, but the aged patchouli is nice, not overwheming. It braces the scent, and I have visions of salt-soaked logs. At the very end it is salt air and light florals (must be the musk). I need to invest in a 5ml, the imp just won't hold me.
