  1. I didn't know what to expect when I snatched this one up, but I don't think I was expecting florals.

Bottle: Flowers! Very cold flowers. Interesting.

Wet: Baby powder? :D I hate baby powder...

Dry: Powder's gone! Rejoice! When I've got my nose an inch or two from my wrist, it smells just like fresh fallen snow. :P

After a while: Snow, and icicles, and violets. Ever read/seen White Oleander? Well, Ingrid Magnussen--the main character's crazy murdering poet mother--wears violet perfume. Even if this didn't smell like winter at all I'd still love it, because the violets are so pretty and they remind me a bit of that book.

The fact that BPAL has got me wearing floral perfumes speaks wonders of the Lab. Overall rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

  2. Ok, wow. I've never had a scent change so drastically from the bottle/wetdown to the drydown.

Bottle: I sort of liked it, but musks aren't really my thing. In fact, before I got into BPAL and got musky scents with my first order, I hated musks...but that's what I get for trying out commercial scents :P In the bottle, it reminds me of smoke a few days after a big fire.

Wet: The same. It's nice, but...meh.

Drydown: :D Is this the same perfume? It's...so sweet, and sharp. It reminds me of something...I keep thinking of old shops and sand. Sort of exotic, something I'd find in the desert. And I think I smell...cornflakes? :D Well, either way, I love it. :D

EDIT: Showed the dry result to my mum (she didn't like it in the bottle). She says it smells just like her grandmother's perfume did--which doesn't mean this is a "granny scent" at all. My 'Papoo' was the most fashionable 94 year old lady you would ever meet.

Anyway, mum's right...so now on top of the other things I mentioned, it reminds me of days spent playing in the sand in Papoo's strawberry patch. I need a big bottle now.

  3. I love this one. In the bottle it smells like cotton candy and popcorn; after I put it on, it smells completely of wet sugar until the dry down.

Ah, the dry down. Then it smells like cotton candy and a touch of saltwater taffy for about an hour or so, and then it switches between funnel cake and caramel apple. I smell like a caramel apple. This is amazing.

EDIT: My cat likes to test out my BPAL--which is to say, if she likes it, she licks at my arm, and if she doesn't, she bites me. She loves Midway. I have to wrestle with her to keep her from licking me constantly!

  4. Wow, this stuff is strong on me. I've had to slather other things on, but Siren is almost overwhelming if I use more than two drops.

I love sweet smells, and I love all the notes in this scent, but the first two times I've tried it on I'm just...not sure. It smells so much like pomegranat oil, which is just reallly astringent to my nose. But every so often, there's a much softer smell that wafts up, like vanilla and apricot, and then suddenly it's gone and back to this vicious, astringent smell.

I really, really want to like it, so I'm going to give it a few more tries before I decide if I need to send it to someone it'll work better on.

EDIT: I've let it age, and now if I wear it for six hours, it smells good, like soft vanilla flowers growing in an orchard. But those first six...I think it's the jasmine, which I've never gotten along well with.

  5. Oh wow do I love this. I love the smell of cloves, and I love the smell of apricots, and I really wish I'd gone ahead and bought a big bottle of this with my Lab order.

It's so sweet while it's wet, and as it dries it mellows out. I keep thinking I smell a little bit of milk and apricot, and then all of a sudden there's this delicious spiciness....

After an hour or two, it changes again...I can't place what it is, but it smells clean instead of sweet or spicy.

My brother's the pickiest person I know about scents, and upon sniffing it he said, "Hey, that's good!" Which is roughly a 'Two thumbs up'.
