  1. Sweet but strong, warm and fierce, it's very fortifying and comforting. Like having a permanent devoted bodyguard protecting you, it feels safe. And smoky. I love it! :wub2: It does wonders for self confidence and personal strength, highly recommended!

  2. I love this! :wub2: Definitely the best aquatic/green/blood note I've ever tried! I think the greeness comes from Irish Moss, given that's just my guess but it's an apt estimate. The ocean blue note is stronger, classier and different from Dragon's Tears and the DB is nice, toothy and sleek. I'm marking this for a bottle purchase sometime in the future for sure. :wub2:

  3. Sweet appley flowers, dragon's blood floating around behind it. Pleasant, but when I first received it it smelled exactly like caramel apples right down to the peanuts embedded in the caramel. Still smells like that sometimes, the whiffs of the snack haven't left it totally. Nice for those who love fall, or traditional fall snacks. ;)

  4. Amber, musk and...MINT!! Strong, dark, murky and far far too masculine for my tastes. In the aged imp I can sense the cinnamon better than when it was fresh, but it still strikes me as more for a guy than a gal. The aging makes it quite more muted and softer too, but not by much.

  5. Black Phoenix is overwhelming cherry lacquer, seriously the heady burgundy varnish you'd use to lacquer one of those little wicker chairs. :ack: I don't know how anyone could stand wearing this without becoming very sick later on in the day.

  6. Smooth, polished and lethally sharp: dragon’s blood resin and three sandalwoods.

Strong, and a scent which is curiously both "gummy" and "dry" at the same time, after a while it begins to smell like a polished block of wood that's been carved into a miniature Buddha, miniature because the DB wouldn't let it become any bigger. Too strong and single noted for me but sandalwood lovers should flock to it.

  7. Wearing it I get the distinct scent of flowers and sweet golden sunshine, which instantly teleported me back into the great outdoors of my childhood home. :wub2: Such a wonderful nostalgic reminder of a happy time and place!! Who knew I was a baby dragon? Bottle worthy for sure.

  8. It reminds me of a sweet blue perfume I remember having once many xmases ago, lovely memory. I don't get any dragon's blood coming to the fore though, the sweet oceanic spray dominates. I'm glad it helped me resurrect this ancient perfume's memory, maybe I'll keep it in mind for bottle worthiness.

  9. A piercing, radiant perfume: dragon's blood resin, lily of the valley, lilac and galbanum.

Soft ruddy DB, nicely complimented by the Lilac, but then completely dashed by the Galbanum which always smells like bad cheap soap on me. Not enough to scare me away from the lovely Dragon line, but Galbanum certainly just has to go.

  10. Soft and sultry, warm red musk and spices with a tiny musty patchouli undertone thrown in. The patch makes it feel very alternative and headshoppy, that's about the only thing I don't particularly care for about it. On the positive side, the minute I walked into the mall wearing this a woman working at a little kiosk a distance away from the doors remarked on what a lovely scent I had (Now if only it could provoke the same reaction in the menfolk, *grumble grumble*). Very attention getting.

  11. Upon first dab Cinnamon wallops me with unrelenting presence and becomes cloying, persistent and strong. I can't smell any pumpkin at all :( and the leather and hay commingle into something dreadful, like BO. I wanted so badly to like this one though...

  12. Lemons. And I thought citrus was an "upper" not a "downer" aroma... The lemon is strong and drowns out the other notes, until I get lavender and then something I wanna call flax seed a little later on. Not my first choice for a scent, and yet I feel more calm after application. I'll use the imp for sleep but I'm not gung ho for a bottle anytime soon.

  13. Soft lavender and jasmine pjs to wrap oneself in as night falls and the eyelids become heavy, sandalwood gives it an extra sophisticated air, it's most like BBW's Midnight Tea blend. In fact I would recommend using both in conjunction with one another, that'll be a crazy ride! Since Mugwort is said to hone psychic abilities, I will be paying extra attention to how it affects my dreamstate.

  14. The bath oil is so light it completely dilutes and disappears in the tub. Bah. And to top it all off the admin. charged me full price for another part of my order *they* royally screwed up on by giving me a 4 0z. bottle in place of my requested 8 0z. Admin didn't even have the courtesy to answer *any* of my emails (PLURAL) for help.

I am mightily displeased with my quality of service (and I use the term extremely lightly) and will no longer be ordering *anything* from BPTP, and I don't recommend them to anyone else either.

  15. Open the bottle and stand aside, it's STRONG! Which makes me nervous. The scent for me is some mixture of eucalyptus, magnolia and rose, which would be fine if they all weren't turned up to 11. Seriously, the strength of this mix is overwhelming, I can apply it and live with it but just barely. It marches right up to the threshold of a migraine and pauses there, daring me to push it over the edge. It authentically matches it's Hoodoo reputation for power, although I'm not so sure about it being great manbait I'm afraid. Use with extreme caution- :ack:

  16. Lovely red red rose backed up by an obscure, tangy, dignified resin. I have to moderate how much I apply (when first I apply) to placate some of that resin's strength. I'm sure as I clock up the hours wearing this, it will morph into even greater beauty. The mental pic I'm left with is a bouquet of roses gilded with shimmering gold, perhaps some golden leaves on the stems, carried in the arms of a regal High Queen of the Realm. A scent that boldly proclaims, "I'm here to run the show and be gorgeous while doing it." :wub2: :wub2:

  17. "One night an old beggar woman came to the castle offering a single Rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince sneered at the gift, and turned the old woman away. She warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for Beauty is Found Within. And when he dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress. The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart...as punishment she transformed him into a hideous Beast and put a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there." :wub2:

This scent is truly a gift for someone like me who has always been obsessed by that magical Rose in the movie...a glowing pink aura, unearthly beautiful floating there under the bell jar, falling petals marking the passage of time... The kid in me rejoices! I've always wanted that Rose and now I have it! :wub2: Man hunters wearing this should always keep the tale's central message foremost in their minds.

"If he could learn to love another, and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken! If not, he would be doomed to remain a Beast for all time."

  18. Current 2011 scent:

Boy am I glad this isn't quite so astringent as last year's version, last time I tried this it smelled of burning cherries on me. In this I can luxuriate in the wonderful Frank & Myrrh and other great incenses mixed together. Another big win and money well spent. :joy:
