    A Nocturnal Reverie

It. Smells. Purple. Seriously! The smell of purple, tinged with a hint of musk, floats above woody resin notes. Gorgeous! Not much throw on me, and it faded in about an hour to a much lighter, fainter version of itself. That last, light stage sticks around for a fair amount of time and is equally gorgeous. This one might require slathering on my part, in hopes of holding on to the stronger early stages. This was a total impulse buy, is completely unlike anything else in my stash, and I love it. Maybe enough to order a backup bottle!
  2. I'm still fairly new to BPAL and don't have tons of scents to choose from, but Shattered has been my go-to scent since the heat warning went into effect a few days ago! It's fantastic. The mint kicks in all tingly-cold on my skin a few minutes after applying, and it's like rubbing (fabulous-smelling) ice cubes on my wrists. I'm definitely going to have to order some more!

Starts smoky, a little dirty, dark sandalwood and cocoa. And it's definitely cocoa rather than chocolate, so on me it's not at all foody. The sandalwood sweetens it up some, countering the sharpness of the cocoa. The more I try it, the more I get a dusty note - maybe that's the myrrh - which reminds me somehow of items that have been stored in an attic for a long time. Still undecided - do I love it, or is just too dusty?
