Woody, exotic, thick, and vanilla. I love sandalwood, some roses, carnation/geranium, and unfortunately amp jasmine into cat pee/mothballs ("I smell old people.") and cinnamon into walking potpourri. I do love me some vanilla though. :)

    Inez

My bottle is lab-fresh and I bought Inez unsniffed based on reviews. I don't know why then that it surprised me when I put it on and at first whiff got SPIIIIICE! Hello Spice! Are you cinnamon? Are you clove? I don't know but you're SPICY. I almost washed Inez off in disappointment. Then, suddenly, she morphed and this amazing musky ambery sweetness began to rise from my wrists and whirl me away. Wow. And oh, does she throw! This one's a wrist-huffer! So glad I bought a bottle, I will be coming back to it often.

    Paduan Killer Swarm

Maybe it's because this is so lab-fresh (5ml arrived yesterday), but I'm getting rubber tires that are even more prominent in the drydown. Brand new rubber tires. Occasionally from a distance I can catch the coconut. A co-worker said soft honey from a couple of feet away, but then she also got rubber tires when she got close to my wrist. I ordered this unsniffed, because I wouldn't have ordered it had I tried it first! Hoping this is another one that I'll put aside to settle for a week or two and then come back to and love. I'll update this if so.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

I bought a bottle of this unsniffed hoping for great things based on the reviews. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me; it was sweet and a little fruity and floral and hadn't any of the depth I was hoping to find underneath (like the vanilla). Sold the bottle to a friend who will appreciate it more!

    Violens

I'm not getting a lot of leather out of this - mostly sweetly musky sandalwood. It is manly but not in an astringenty aftershave sort of way. I could see Violens smelling like this. Manly on the outside, but all warm and snuggly inside, the big softie. I like it!
  6. i kinda feel the same way. cockaigne took a while to grow on me but now i just adore it. Cockaigne is my 7yo's favorite; we think it smells exactly like raw white cake batter, so we call it "Cake Batter." I figure just in case she talks about it in school, I don't want anyone to misunderstand the name.
  7. The Antikythera Mechanism is *strong* - though it's mostly tobacco and teak and smells amazingly like a tobacconist's shop. Yum. Sin is another one. It smells like you're walking in a warm cloud of spice, but not the nose-burning kind.
  8. Chuparosa is so strong at first it can be overpowering if you put on what would be a normal amount for many other oils. It's got a crazy amount of throw. It seems to last fairly well on me and dries down without too much morph!

    The Antikythera Mechanism

This is tobacco and vanilla on my boyfriend, and it smells so fantastic on him we've given it a nickname: "The Pantydropper." If this doesn't work on you, try it on your man if you have one. *swoon* Edited: I stole my boyfriend's bottle. Sorry, baby. I'll get you another one, but this one is MINE!
  10. I was given a bottle of St. Foutin as a gift and at first didn't think it was for me at all - but after it settled down for a couple of weeks and I tried it again, I'm in love. Serious love! This is the real thing! My bottle's full but I'm already having horrible nightmares about the day it's dry. Is there anything in the GC that might be close?
