  1. I'm resurrecting an old thread it appears, but I find this topic fascinating :)

So far,I've had most luck with Snakes in the pumpkin patch and Hellcat, both of which seem to elicit quite a...ahem...physical response from the husband :D

I've also had compliments on Blood Kiss.

Seconded on Hellcat. It's my signature BPAL and my boyfriend loves it as well.

    In addition, O definitely qualifies.

In terms of recent blends, Gingerbread Snake is very sexy imo.

  2. 2013 version.

In the bottle, it's much like this: PINE! BERRY! ~snow~ I like it for sure.

On: This is an unusual and yummy winter scent. It's not foody, but still manages to be delicious. It's like a juicy, voluptuous berry has been frozen right at the height of ripeness, in the middle of a snow covered pine forest. Very pretty.

Reminds me of Almond Blossom, which I tested earlier, except this has the pine berry thing going on and is a little less floral.

Overall though, I'm on the fence. It smells lovely and unusual in the bottle and initially on me, but I don't think I'd wear it much, and as it dries I don't like it as much. :cry2: I don't know!

    *edit*

    Swapping this.

  3. Fresh from the mailbox. :wub2:

In the bottle: YUM. Spicy, yummy, vanilla icing covered gingerbread.

On: This is definitely Snake Oil that soaked up some gingerbread goodness. There is no way to go wrong with this one. It's sexy, sexy gingerbread.

    :thud: :joy: :yum:

  4. Fresh from the mailbox!

In the bottle: slightly spicy floral almond. Yum...

On: more white floral, that hint of spice is gone and is now more ozoney/hint of mint.

Sadly this is very soapy floral on me in the end. :( Shucks.

  5. 2005 version.

This is so sweet and beautiful and perfect. It's such an innocent scent, yet so delicious. On me, it's almondy coconut goodness, but with an almost fruity depth to it. It's so hard to place, and it's a very unique scent, but also reminds me of something from my childhood. My boyfriend loves this one on me very much, which makes me happy. I would pass on this every year I saw it, because of the description, and thinking it'd be aquatic and minty, but it's so different than what I expected. So mad I passed it up all those times!

    5/5. :wub2: I want another bottle!

  6. I actually really want to try and have the carnation single note work on me, as it's the national flower of Spain (I am of much Spanish heritage, and am lovingly dubbed black irish by my boyfriend, who Celto-Iberian as well, so it holds close to our hearts).

    Anyway, on to recs.:

Hellcat, which I almost want to consider my signature BPAL. It's buttercream, and spicy, and amazing.

Ooky, a weenie LE this year, foodie delicious spicypumpkin.

    Thank you everyone!!!

It's interesting you list hellcat - I just went and found my imp. I smell flowers! But yes, some spicy sweetness that makes them more tolerable. I think I can live with these flowers. I had originally pitched this in the "no, flowers" pile, but I'm rethinking it.

That's nuts! lol There isn't a single floral note in Hellcat.

  8. Wow, this is very unique to me!

Very peachy on my skin, and maybe that's freesia in the background? Who knows...

But it's sweet and lovely vanilla amber peach, but over time it starts to go kind of wonky on me. I DO like it, but I'm not sure it's for me. I'm definitely glad I got to try it out, though!

  9. This smells so good in the imp to me. Ahh AHH! NO. I can't be buying a bottle of this with all the Yules coming... :cry2:

Oh boy, this is too good.

Slightly spicy, hint of coffee vanilla patch.

It has the barest hint of earthiness to it still, which I actually like in this blend.

    :wub2: :wub2:

PS. I foresee layering this with Silkybat sometimes.

  10. Juniper wood, styrax, leather accord, blackened honey, and amber.

Wet, this is very heavily !woo juniperwood! and a heady, almost metallic leather note, which has to be the styrax jumping in?

Drying, it's still very intense, deep and dark, and if there's amber or honey, it's really hiding itself well under the other notes.

This is strangely sexy, and I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend wore this. It's an interesting scent for sure. A sweetness that lingers underneath, the amber and honey, has just enough of a presence to keep this from being overwhelmingly green/leathery as it dries.

This one makes me want to keep taking a whiff, for sure. I may come back and edit this later/add to it!

  11. When first on, this is ALL CASSIA ALL DA TIME.

It's cinnamon like dry nutty spice, but with a hint of dry cocoa and dark chocolate.

I actually really like this after the first initial seconds of going cassia crazy. It's a really comforting and nostalgic scent, for some reason. It's very unique for a foody.

  12. I can't believe this doesn't work for me! The blackberry turns really sour and cringe worhy on me. Like grape medicine, but with a blackberry twist. It's really sad too, because I can smell the delicious cake underneath, and it's the cake that actually works on me (unlike that of Cake Smash). :cry2:
