  1. What a lovely, elegant scent. Light sheer musk and a slight, slight hint of lemon, with deep green undertones. The china musk is distinctly detectable, but not overpowering. It's floral, but doesn't offend the sensibilities of this foodie lover.

  2. OHHHHH. MY. GOD.

My favourite girl scout cookies are the Thin Mints.

This smells exactly like a Thin Mint. But better. BETTER.

    :thud:

I can't believe I found a full bottle of this on Ebay - for $20 no less. I will cherish this precious and try desperately not to drink it because NOM! And I don't even normally like minty scents to wear...

    :yum:

  3. Need some help on yummy mint scents...I oddly really want a mint scent right now. But something minty sweet, vanilla like, and long lasting. I can't decide between Lick It Now 2013 or Mother Shub's Unmentionable Peppermint Creams?? I read the reviews and I'm still not sure.

I love the buttery cream mint of MSUPC but I hear Lick It Now has better staying power...please help me!!! And a random note...I LOVE Braving The Ice. ;)

I didn't try the Lick It scent (never have) but Mother Shub's Peppermint has crazy strong throw on me. ._. Plus I love the sugary/creamy hint of marzipan it has. :yum:

  4. This is so divine, and thankfully remains just as divine on my skin. It's only slightly rummy, has a lot of depth, and is just a beautiful gourmand and sexy scent on me. Very hard to describe, honestly. I also love wearing it to sleep, very soothing.

I don't get Grog from this, this is so much more complex on me.

  5. I layer Snow White perfume/bath oil with Silkybat HG and I love the combo. I also layer Silkybat with my Hypnotic Poison (Dior) and find that the vanilla almond/sugar patch combo is divine, it's my signature combo at this point.

The Other Hot Chocolate, and probably Dia de Los Reyes would be good with Sudsy She Wolf BO and Shiny Furball HG methinks.

  6. Much more cherry whilst still wet, but as it dries the woody note comes out as well as a hint of currant. It's a very deep scent, not high pitched.

I agree with another reviewer; I end up smelling like a table. An old, well learned, majestic, dark wood table. Interesting, but wouldn't wear it much.

  7. In the decant: Slightly sweet musky leather and chains, in a fog of smoke. WHERE'S MY FOOOOOOD?

Wet: Okay, better. I guess the sweetness I'm now getting is from the barvarian mints and chocolate bon bons? The other notes have calmed down a bit but are still there, just sweeter.

Dry: So, red musk pretty much hates me. I see a lot of people mentioning red musk but what I'm getting from this isn't that. I just think the booze in combo with fur/smoke/leather/chains has combined and smells sort of musky. But on me it's really not strong and overpowering like red musk usually is on me.

This is actually a light blend on me when it dries. Yeah, I smell all the other components I've mentioned but the bon bon chocolate and co. has really tempered this.

This is really interesting, but I'm not sure I'd wear it much.

  8. I love marzipan in geeneral so I def. want to smell full blown minty marzipan with this. Also, I'm seeing a lot of Lick It __ comparisons, so I'm going to note I've never tested any if the Lick Its before.

In the decant: Very sharply minty with a slight sweet edge, obviously the marzipan.

Wet: Mint! Oh, sweet mint! Still really sharp mint on me, but I quite like it, actually. My nose feels cold from this arctic blast!

Drying: Since the marzipan makes it nice and sweet, the mint is tempered, but only a little. It's the mintiest thing I've ever smelled from BPAL. I really like this and could see layering it with Snow White, Go to Sleep Darlings, etc., but I'm not sure how often I'd wear something so minty. It's basically like a straight up sweet candy cane on me, though, yum! :yum:

  9. In the decant: Creamy chocolate.

On me: Whoa! That's weird. It's more cinnamony and coffeeish now, and with a bit of brown sugar crust or something. It does smell better as it dries down, and the notes blend more harmoniously.

On the line about a bottle purchase though.

*edit* I've decided I love this. BOTTLE PLS.

  10. In my decant, it's definitely sugar cookies and slight caraway with orange icing, but not ridiculous orange! orange. I don't really like orangey scents so let's hope it stays that way.

On me, wet: Okay, what is that? A CARROT? Did someone stuff a carrot in my decant? What I smelled in the decant is mostly gone and smells of some sort of vague caraway cookie.

Dry: This really isn't spicy on me too much. It's, at this point, slightly spicy caraway gingery sugar cake. Kind of weird. It's nice, but it's something I'd rather eat than smell like.

    Pass. Oh well!

  11. In the decant: Oh. My. Goodness. This is Snow White, but sweeter and so, so lovely. I LOVE Snow White to bits: it ties with Banshee Beat for my fav. BPAL. So this is awesome...

I detect a hint of mint in this one, must be the snow.

On me, wet: What, why did they go playdough? But...it's good playdough? Like, made out of sugar and almond-mint icing playdough. I like it!

Drying: Oh boy, do I love this. It's Snow White with the green note left out and amped full of snowy sugar. That apparently turns into minty almond playdough on me and I ~looove ittt~. And it gets better the more it dries.

  12. In the bottle:

Yummy mint cookies. A lighter thin mint than the Girl Scout kind.

    On me:

I'm going to quote Atrous exactly... "there is something in this blend that amps like crazy. I can't really pinpoint what it is because there are no spice notes mentioned in the description. This note that amps up smells like a spice of some kind, nutmeg maybe? It's pretty bad though". And I also amp some sort of butter a lot, which makes this go wonky. I thought this would be perfect! :cry2:

  13. I can't believe this is the first time I'm opening an imp of this. I know I've had quite a few over the years but oh boy, I would have remembered this one.

What is that, is that...turkey? :o How'd dey fit a whole turkey in durr? I don't know, but I'm getting a whiff of buttery cherry turkey and I don't know if I'm intrigued or if that's just my stomach churning.

Seriously though, how has no one else smelled turkey in theirs??? Anyway...

On me, this smells better. However, I'm not convinced. Cherry tart? Custard? Toffee? Should be a total yummy and delicious win for me. But lurking silently in the background is a crazed, stinky, undead turkey, and it makes the whole scent go wonky.

My mental picture of this is a bunch of toppled cherry tarts and broken dishes all over the floor with a crazed, zombie turkey hovering over them and staring at me hissing SMELL MEEEEEE.

Thanks for having such a strong nose, self. Not. :smite:

So, in the end as this dries, I like this. The turkey trotted away and I'm left with a nice buttery cherry tart. I could do without the butter/custard though, it just makes it kind of stale/sour on me. So it's nice, but I don't need a bottle. What a scent journey that one was.

  14. Yummy and deeply fruity deliciousness in the decant and when wet on my skin. As it dries, a hint of fig comes out...

I definitely agree with the above statement by mymymai: "whereas the scent when wet screams berries and warm jams, the dried version is much more subdued and low-key, like someone sipping berry tea sitting near a fire-place." This is more a floral fruit than straight foodie to me, though.

I really didn't like Purple Snowballs; it was extremely floral on me and smelled almost identical to Almond Blossom on me. This, however, is warm & fruity goodness that doesn't go crazy on me. I wouldn't mind smelling this on my boyfriend, either.

  15. Pre-testing feelings: I have yet to find a 13 I like, but I sincerely hope this one works on me. It sounds divine and smells lovely in the bottle. The main reason I got it, though, is because it fell on my boyfriend and I's anniversary and the label was perfectly appropriate, don't you think? :) :wub2:

Sweetly foody in the bottle with a slight leafy green essence.

On my skin: this is gorgeous. Yummy, sweet whitechocolate/almonddoughnut goodness. I agree with stella that there is a slight fruit note which adds a hint of depth. But it remains almond doughnut goodness overall. Love it. Very happy with this 13.

    *edit*

The longer it sits on my wrist, the more I smell sweet, fluffy coconut with a hint of juicy pomegranate barely peeking through, yum!
