  1. First Impression: Dragon's Blood, I love it so.

Second Impression: This is the deepest, most mysterious of the Dragon's Blood scents I've sampled. It's seductive and musky.

Final Analysis: A very sexy sniff. I really like this because once the muskiness and darnkess fades, I get light sweet whiffs of the roses and ylang ylang. Very nice blend.

  2. First Impression: Lotus, lots of lotus. It's the same rich lotus note I really love in Blood Lotus.

Second Impression: On my skin the fruitiness comes out. It starts our very jammy and thick and almost rotting.

Final Analysis: I didn't smell any amber in this. Once the lotus fades, I'm only left with rotting fruit smell. Not overly keen on this one.

  3. First Impression: Like Cathedral only deeper and darker. I don't know about black though. Smells more like deep deep shiny brown.

Second Impression: I adore Beth's resiny woodsy scents and this is no exception. The saldalwood and cedar are beautiful and gleaming, like highly polished dark wood.

Final Analysis: This is heavy, not for daytime summer use, but for night. This would smell wonderful on a man. This also smelled wonderful layered with Unseelie.

  4. First Impression: This is much brighter and sharper than the other Funereal Oils I've sampled. The lavender and cypress are most noticeable.

Second Impression: The flowers mellow out the sharpness during the drydown and the woods appear. I found this to be fresher and brighter than the name would imply.

Final Anaysis: I didn't get any despair or melancholy from this. It's just a nice bright floral with woodsy backbone. Nice but not a favorite.

  5. First Impression: I don't smell jasmine or roses. Smells bright in the bottle.

Second Impression: Oh I don't like this. Smells very odd, almost foul on my skin.

Final Analysis: I have had very good luck with Beth's florals but this just smells like a swamp to my nose.

  6. First Impression: Sweet florals with a smooth woodsy backdrop.

Second Impression: This kept getting sweeter the longer I wore it. The cedar was ever present, keeping this from getting sickly or seeming innocent.

Final Analysis: After several hours a the woodsiness turns sharp, but not in an unpleasant way. This is one beautful blend.

  7. First Impression: Whoa, this one is deep. This is not your springtime morning fragrance.

Second Impression: The name does this justice. Noir is perfect for a late night seduction. Hot and deep and spicy sweet flowers.

Final Analysis: This is forever going to be my grown up night time fragrance. I can see myself all decked out in a sexy black outfit walking along the deck of a cruise ship with the wind blowing this scent all around me..."who is that gorgeous smelling woman?" as I walk by.

  8. First Impression: Candy sweet plummy candles.

Second Impression: I don't get any floral at all. It's all sweet candley plumminess.

Final Analysis: Just like March Hare, not smelling good on me, but is going to be a wonderful roon/linen spray.

  9. First Impression: Earthy and spicy with a little sweetness to it.

Second Impression: Oh glorious scent. It's the best of everything. It's woodsy, sweet, spicy, airy, crisp, fresh, earthy, deep, light, bright. How it can be all of these at once, only Lab Goddess knows. I smell sandalwood, cinnamon, the lightest hint of lemon. Beautiful.

Final Analysis: All I know is that it's wonderful and I just want to bathe in it!

  10. First Impression: Mellow and sweet...almonds drizzled with honey.

Second Impression: This is the "comfort food" of all the BPAL scents I've tried. It's the stay at home, I need a hug and my fuzzy slippers fragrance.

Final Analysis: Dana O'Shee really comforted me when I needed it. This is a keeper for "days like these".

Edited to Add: I dabbed a bit more of this on before bed last night (it's just sooo soooothing) and when my husband got into bed and cuddled me he kept sniffing me and sniffing me saying "MMMMMM". It was wonderful!

  11. First Impression: I adore the name, I have been called Empress by my husband in the past. Empress overrules King, you see. And I adore the scent.

Second Impression: Yes it is roses and lots of them. But these roses aren't sweet, elegant roses these are wild roses with lots of thorns.

Final Analysis: I love the underlying resiny scent here. Rosewood or sandalwood perhaps? I've been wearing it all day. It's pretty much gone from my skin, still faintly scenting my hair, but still strongly wafting from my locket. Just wonderful.

  12. I'm not really qualified in this sort of thing, but I have done an amazing amount of online shopping since 1998. I went to all the sites to have a look and I found the cf_ezcart quite easy to use and had a good look to it. Everything was easy to read. Also Cart Manager was really nice and easy to understand. I didn't care for eCompal.

  13. First Impression: Heady and intoxication. It's honeyed wine straight away. This was the perfect choice to wear to the movie Troy today.

Second Imression: The myrrh is starting to peek out making the honey and wine mulled and spicy. I don't smell too much floral, but a faint sweetness in the background.

Final Analysis: I love this, it's delightful but lasts only minutes on my skin. It's even gone from my hair after only 3 hours. The scent locket is still quite potent though. This is an exquisite blend but I'm mouring the lack of staying power.

  14. First Impression: Well the name just makes me all hot and shivery. It's definitely a golden scent.

Second Impression: The resins were very agressive until it melded with my skin. Then the warm sweetness began oozing from my skin. This is very sexy.

Final Analysis: I don't find this masculine in the least. I do want to try a dab on my love just too see the differences. It reminds me of Snake Oil and O, just as Lora said.

  15. First Impression: Oh boozey, spicey goodness. Just a little sip?

Second Impression: This smells exactly like the mulled wine recipe Rob and I make every Christmas. Oh it's gorgeous all red wine, brandy, cinnamon, cloves and orange peel.

Final Analysis: This is one of those evocative scents. If I'm saving Jack for Halloween, this one's for Crimbo!

  16. First Impression: Another gorgeous clean white floral from our Lab Goddess.

Second Impression: If Queen Mab had a king, Zephyr would be it. The musk is more prominent as is the sandalwood maiking this a more masculine scent.

Final Analysis: I adore anything musky and this is the clean light side of musk. As Ms. MSgirl stated, this would be extremely interesting on a man. It's well balanced and just a little sexy.

  17. It would be nice to have a scent like fresh, crisp New England apples picked off the tree rather than the Jolly Rancher type faux appleness.

I find Forbidden Fruit very "fruity" with the Dragon's Blood underneath. More of a fruit jam sort of way, not with apples, I'm afraid.

I'll have to take note of apples in Virgo when my package arrives.

  18. First Impression: Pink carnations floating in a pond.

Second Impression: I love carnations and sweet pea and the blend is wonderful. This is soft, innocent, pink and drenched.

Final Analysis: Though soft, Desdemona has oomph and throw. Another beauty. I could wear this all summer.

  19. First Impression: Soft and understated floral, but by no means innocent.

Second Impression: The chinese musk note in this is gorgeous. She's complex and exquisitely blended.

Final Analysis: I adore Beth's soft florals. The musk balances the flowers so perfectly. Queen Mab is just glorious yet so understated she's almost sneaky. I can't smell her unless I try. This one is for slathering.
