    Anaconda

What a naughty little tease Anaconda has turned out to be. I'm thinking Snake Oil custard with a burnt brown sugar crust on top. Definitely rich, though it seems the creaminess is coming from the Snake Oil rather than the additional components. I say brown sugar because it doesn't have the butteriness of caramel. I don't think it's overly foody as I'm getting whiffs of a very sensual tobacco on the drydown. Indeed, a naughty little tease. Almost cruel, as an elixir such as this needs a much larger vessel.

    Cauldren (Yodelingfish Soaps scent)

I distinctly remember when you came over with the huge box of goodies from Yodelingfish that time. You gave me the Royal Spa soap. You had a bottle of Cauldren lotion and I tried some on and said, "oooh, I want this to layer with Love Me!" But then I was never able because Charity hasn't returned to business. I've got a bottle of September 2004 Vintage Love Me here next time you come over.

Aged Love Me reminds me of Cauldren.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Just pottering around the house today, so I threw some charged batteries in the digital... If there are any other bottles lacking photos and I have them in stock, let me know and I'll take the photos of those as well.

What do bottles and labels look like?

My Harvest Moon 2004 has the name, "A Little Lunacy" in purple just below and then "2004" just below that, then a little blue crescent moon character below that and then the lab's name below that. It's my original bottle from the lab. The label has the sticky mod-podge quality about it.

    Fragrances similar to "Flowerbomb"

You are spot on with your assessment, Electra. Flowerbomb is nothing like any BPAL or Pink Sugar or even Angel to my nose. There are ton of Flowerbomb dupes out there that are really good. But since this is a BPAL recs area, I layer Flowerbomb lotion with Snake Oil, I think they work really well together. BPAL scents that I'd put in the category of Flowerbomb would be Formula 54, Intergalactic and Stardust '06. They are LE and two are rare, but there you have it.

A scent similar to Avon's Mesmerize

I've not smelled Mesmerize, but from the description it seems like it would be rich and warm. I find Theodosius from the Carnaval Diabolique collection to be amazingly rich and warm and might fit the bill. Also Voodoo, it's very sexy.

    Halôa

This is such a surprise as frank/myrrh and wine/grape are notes that don't usually smell good on me, but Haloa is such a wonderful exception. It's like Beaver Moon married Monster Bait: Underpants and had spicy little Christmas cake babies. I love this scent, its warmth and spicy sweetness, its richness and depth.

Chaos Theory II : The Butterfly Effect

Chaos Theory II: CDLXI (461) This decant was a gift from the lovely Odette Odile and I am supremely excited to have a vial of this beauty in my possession. You know that mouthwatering sweetness in legendary scents like Pink Phoenix and Snow Angel? This is the "single note" of it, as it were. This is the bouquet of cotton candy, pure spun sugar, fluffy and sweet. Not the pink, strawberry flavored carnival cotton candy but a cotton candy, spun pure white with a barest vanilla character. This sugar positively sparkles, with lots of depth and throw. This vial will remain in my "treasured Imps" collection forever!

    Jólasveinar

In the bottle I detect soft pine with a subtle, sweet cake scent just beneath. When I first apply, there is the exact scent of slush. I grew up in Revere, MA and anyone who has ever been forced outside just after a Nor'easter to clean off the car knows the smell of that wet-cold slush, and Beth has captured it perfectly. The drydown is gorgeous, I love the multi-facetedness of this scent. The slush dries off to reveal the soft pine again that's mingled with a breath of orchid. The sweet cakes are also there, like the waft you get in the next room when you are baking. Jolasveinar evokes Christmas with magic and subtlety. It captures both the warmth and the chill of the season. I love this scent.

    EPIC BPAL Spreadsheet Thread

My spreadsheet is all updated. I know many of you "old school" BPALers have copies of it. If anyone needs an update, just ask.

    Vieux Carre

This is one beautiful floral! I can't wait to see how it compares side by side to White Moon. Vieux Carre started off as a delicate breath of jasmine and honeysuckle. The longer it wore on my skin, the more it started to bloom. A heady explosion of white flowers, just beautiful. I didn't get much roses, if any, thank goodness. That would have been the kiss of death for me. Very evocative of its namesake, with a touch of its magic as well.

    It's getting close

Really looking forward to the Meet Up here next weekend. I did some sorting out downstairs so that my cleaning later in the week will be a breeze. Rob and I also did some yard work. We raked and bags about a billion leaves, we knew what we were getting into when we bought the place. That's the reason she's called Shady Dame. I wish I had the week off so I didn't have to wait until Thursday to get back to Trader Joe's. I'll get all the bits for the party recipes as well as the stuff to prepare for our weekend meals. It is going to be such fun having TJ's nearby, especially with the holidays rushing in.

    Treat #2

Shake your Fig Bon Bon! This scent is exactly like the description, dead on. I can pick out every single note individually, like they are fighting for my attention but they also smell ever so good together. It fades fairy quickly and the drydown is a soft coconut macaroon crumb sitting on my wrist. I think that this scent is going to be one that ages beautifully, getting all rich and deep and thick. I'd like to smell this in six months and review it again.

    Treat #1

Treat #1 is Snow Angel and Fee locked in a highly-scented Death Match. All lemon drops and icy sugar and sharp melons going at it for love and honor. Unfortunately Fee wins. Melons do not smell good on my skin.
  18. Dorian, Theodosius and Spirits of the Dead are my total tea heaven!
  19. I wasn't keen on Antique Lace, I found Peitho to be a wonderful alternative to it. Perhaps it will work in the reverse for you.

    Info about combining orders?

Orders can not be combined by request, nor can TAL and BPAL orders be placed together.

    Info about combining orders?

I placed a good sized order on May 17th, two weeks ago today. If I place another order with tomorrow's update, do you think the orders will be able to be combined? How does the shipping work on combined orders? I'll e-mail Nella when I place the second order, but just trying to get a feel for the process before hand. Thanks y'all!

    Cockaigne

Cockaigne is possibly the most buttery and most foody BPAL scent I have ever experienced. It's so buttery it's nearly dripping! Off the cuff it reminds me of a super buttery Eat Me, but as it wears, it gets much spicier and reminds me of Underpants but with loads of that buttery Jack note. I recently made a cake that had six sticks of butter in it. Cockaigne is more buttery. It is rather moreish, though. I can't stop sniffing my wrist.

The res on the CD labels are better than I had imagined they'd be.

    Les Bijoux

The most beautiful golden apple, just like a juicy bite while picking at the orchard. And it stays quite awhile, too! And then it all goes south. The rose and the honey turn dreadful on my skin and I had to wash it off.

    Lyonesse

I have tried so many of Beth's amazing scents yet it seems so long since I've done a proper review but Lyonesse really deserves one. This is O without the honey, Florence without the iris but so much more, sexy but not slutty, sweet but not foody, innocent but not girlie, come hither and come closer. The beauty of this scent borders on indescribable. The layers blend seamlessly, there is no powder in the amber, there is no headiness in the stargazer, the creaminess is tempered by the soft wood. Lyonesse is heaven.
