  1. Sueded smoky leather that's like the best ever...with lilac and just a touch of bay rum. Its all kept sweet and fresh by the cubeb. If you've been wishing for something like Perversion that's not Perversion.. try this. Instead of Perversion's crystalline syrupy sweet leather feel, this is more amber with a tinge of sweet sweet lilac.

  2. Mildly maniacal: dragon’s blood resin sparkling with shiny pink grapefruit, purple lilac, honeysuckle, white musk, and bergamot.

Hmm. What I mostly smell is white musk and honeysuckle.  Don't expect a dragons blood heavy scent here..its more like Incubus, Materialization, Ectoplasm kinda cascade.  Its a strange viscous floral with (even stranger yet) pink grapefruit/white musk bind together, keeping all notes from touching ground. All other elements are presented in a muted horizontal row, just like my experiences with Blood for Cat and Rapture Pig.

Neither offensive or overly bold. I have no complaints..just not what I expected.  Fans of florientals will be happy and their brains pleasantly warped.

  3. Queen Mab's Lace evokes a field surrounded by forest at summer dusk. Cooling air pouring in from the already darkened woods in turn amplifying the smell of grasses and summertime wildflowers... and a sense of magic. Get your lanterns ready and wait for lightening bugs!

  4. Bad kitty: golden amber, black cherry, tonka bean, sweet red musk, dried mango pulp, rooibos tea, red currant, and bitter almond.

Mellow floaty glowy red and amber scent? I guess my reviews are just as insane as the line concept, here. Sorry not sorry.

Quieter than expected but all notes are present and standing in a horizontal row. Nothing screaming over another. I was expecting loud like Gothabilly but its medium throw and well blended. Would make an excellent hair gloss.

Another singularity that needs shaking before application.  I think its the dried mango pulp floating around in the bottle like ectoplasm? Forewarned, are you!

  5. Yaaayyyywheeeee!  Sugary syrupy pink as hell rose! The red currant is a gloopy awesome supporting note.

This is for giggly girly pretend we're Marie Antoinette days. Visiting the ice cream parlor dressed like there's a SugarCon no one but us knows about days. Dress like your Strawberry Shortcake Spirit Animal days.

Do yourself a favor: shake thoroughly before applying. My 1st test was a weak pink flop and it was totally my fault. 2nd test: I love it. Dream come true.

  6. Ascending and descending: a cascade of white lily and osmanthus with flutters of red musk.

    Whattt? No reviews yet?

Well, this is a fantastic lily blend, no doubt. Its warm skin, sunshine, and glowing lilies basking in early summer.  White lily is smelling like a creamy smoother lily of the valley, hope that helps. The osmanthus makes the whole deal glow golden warmly without disrupting the floral category vibe (I love osmanthus. its this enigmatic golden sweet floral in my mind). Red musk is truly a flutter and is working compliantly in the background like the way it would in a dragons blood blend.

  7. Some blends stray away from the classic Black Lace base scent and show a lighter or cleaner perspective of that vanilla cream tobacco cognac laciness we all love. This one doesn't stray. The base is strongly similar to the strength of Black Lace. Add peony and cookie crumbles and chocolate and a touch of light rose. Its sweet deep creamy and floaty at the same time. Kinda Black Lace with pink florals and chocolate bunnies? I love it!

  8. Uhhmmm the pine resin is pretty damn relaxed? Its mostly magnolia. Without referencing, I smelled white tea and lemony incense like under the mosquito netting. Some might say "that's symptoms of a smelling seizure. Head straight to the perfume hospital" but I say pfffhh I'm fiiinnneee lets have another.

Mmm. Sweet magnolia almost honeyed. I love this. Its green and fresh and watery without being "aquatic".

  9. Oh. My. God. Getting older and still doing it smells fantastic. Thanks, Beth!

Really this is a gorgeous instant bottle buy. Tart mandarin is about as good on me as cognac...which means miraculous. The combination of everything is beautiful. One note cannot go without the other and hold its value. This is perfume blending at its finest. Green and orange colors are accurate. However this has lots of staying power. Rosewood is a brilliant bright woody floral base. Absolutely excellent.

  10. Call me a prissy virgo, but I was afraid to smell this based on name alone. Puhh. What the hell was I scared of? This smells GREAT!

Beeswax and perfumey ti leaf are recognizable without suggestion. Warm and earthy with the nuts and sandalwood. Surprising... not overtly "brown". Hearth-y, like think the tops of the Yules collection. Another lupers winner...man this is gonna be a 30 bottle order at the end of all the testing, at this rate.....

  11. Immortelle and creamed honey right off, then mellows to a jessamine/honeysuckle-like scented brocade cloth. Accurate, if you've huffed brocades, like I have.

Drydown: smooth...Its a white golden chypre. Classy. Tart and sweet from immortelle. Feels like white + yellow rose blends but brighter. Makes my mouth water similar to citrus blends!

  12. Argh this is reminding me of a perfume from the 90s and can't remember what. Baahhh!! Not a bad one. Like actually pleasant and one I enjoyed encountering. This will drive me batshit...can't place it!

Anyways...wet phase, there's a crystalline golden smell like if someone made a citrine-emoting perfume. It burns off in about 5 minutes to reveal a beautiful rose and jasmine musk. There was a luper of some naked sexy chick on a bicycle back in 2011 or 12..? Smells a bit like that. I'm terrible at name identification today, sorry. Wicked helpful review...chuhh. ;)

  13. Another beauty.

First words when I popped the decant "SEX." Isn't that funny? Golden glowing blossoms and amber colored honey. A little musky but I like it more than skin musk. Feels more real? Huh.

Bottle for sure. Excellent addition to the vulva collection.

ETA: There appears to be batch variations. I ordered a bottle from the lab after decant testing...its got more amber and mallow and cherry blossom and not predominantly honey this time.  This bottle is way awesomer than the decant.  Sweeter and richer! The oil is a reddish orange too...so more amber I guess?  Bottom of the hooch bottle win!!

  14. I like the 51 reference...this is like Female 51. White clean lily and melon flower with a touch of ginger. I'm using this as my new Dirty.

ETA: different weather today and it smells like really sweet linden?  This is fantastic-er than my last test. Going down the rabbit hole with this one in hand.

  15. An addictive morpher, like eating candy. Smells very pink and creamy to me, due to the fig meat and vanilla cream. Drydown stays the same. Still pink. Still awesome.

This is a long term winner and deserves a multibottle purchase. This lupers update is killing me. Beth stop reading my mind!! ;)

  16.  This is GORGEOUS.

White flowing peach and fig meat with a lovely clean peach glow when dry. Whatever makes white musk milky, I need more of it. Turning 42 can make you feel old and like your skin chemistry is molding from the inside out.. Chance Meeting reverses those feelings and effects.

Another bottle buy for sure. Beth has outdone herself this year. All the lupers are beautiful.

  17. 2019:

A total winner. So much better than any previous year I've tried. Much cleaner and simpler. A more understated magnetic sensuality. The ambergris is gentler in 2019 and I think that's the major difference. Very well balanced golden glowing coconut with sweet gentle floral and musk background. Smells a bit like Lush's Yuzu & Cocoa..? Strange!

  18. This has the golden glow of Eos but fruity. Its gorgeous, smooth, glowy and syrupy.  I'm not getting any spice, like the previous reviewer?  MMV?

Pretty great and unique. Feminine without being girly or stuffy. The drydown is soft, like drifting off to sleep totally relaxed, and musky with a fig sweetness. Better than I expected it to fare!

  19. I agree. This is a quiet blend. Reading the notes, I was expecting boombababoommbababoom.. Instead its soft and melodic. Kinda an attempt to make a harmonious mix of some pretty big essentials.  I think those with sensitivities, who can only apply in small doses, or ones needing a professional-suitable perfume will rejoice.  It is a wonderful mix.

Soft, warm, floaty, glowing.  Well balanced vanilla, amber, musk and resin notes. I'd compare it to Haunted or a light application of Morocco. Hang onto this for summer, k?

  20. Ok..disclaimer: I'm one of the unlucky few for which oudh smells like a freshly popped septic tank, when wet.  That said, Snake's Shadow is worth the horror.  I could smell something "sparkly" underneath the poop stink, immediately.  It helped my endurance for sure!

When finally dry, its lovely. ❤️ I found a gorgeous jeweled mantle at the bottom of a septic tank! Wow! Worth the pain every time.

Snake Oil, something sparkly (labdanum) and effervescent like the lab's champagne note, deep resinous base. Its cascade is pretty wide and complex.  It takes some getting used to, but I place this in the Leather Phoenix category: not sure why I'm repeatedly drawn back...complex, addictive, intriguing.  This will age VERY well. :wub2:

  21. Beachy-clean on my skin. Much more floral than previous reviewers' experiences. Its lilac, coconut, white florals and musk hair conditioner. Tropical, floral, and a bit earthy from the benzoin. I'd put it in the family of Obatala,  Pele, or Hi'iaka.

ps: Black Phoenix Eggplant Lab...haaa! Worth buying the bottle for that little label surprise.

  22. Another bpaler thoroughly happy with Thought Photography, here. :wub2:

Starts out smelling like commercial perfume, but changes into quite a unique sweet airy blend that smells like....mint tea? Really. There's something in the notes cascade that smells like sweet mint tea. Maybe its the mercury suggestion. Its true, this is airy, ethereal and refined.

End of drydown, it settles into an even balance of all 3 notes and is sparkling, golden, refined lavender perfume loveliness. Don't expect the palo santo to scream. Its accompanied by 2 notes of equal strength. Its how I wanted my aunts to smell, but they couldn't think outside the Oil of Olay box.
