  1. Is it weird and uncanny that as soon as I popped this imp open I sputtered out the term "rich people"? Seriously reminds me of department stores filled with clean leather and silk dreams. Where people never smell like bo (well I would never fit in then!) and their pants are always pressed (double that.. I've never taken a single thing to the dry cleaners). Very refined... to the point that people might just give you the stink eye on general premise. It smells great but makes me mighty uncomfortable. hahha!!

  2. Wet: Smells exactly like Lush's Karma perfume on me! Really... a total identical match. It's very thick and syrupy and leaves that orangey spicy well-being feeling swirling about my head.

Drydown: shifts every so slightly towards a Sin or Satyr kinda mix, with the red musk coming out more, however still solidly feeling very Karma-ish.

I know this is supposed to inspire ..uhm *ahem* however this is very soothing and meditational on me (I lean faaarrr towards earthy spicy and resinous anyways). My new moment-of-peace inducing pick.

  3. This is better on me than No. 93 Engine. (yes I know everyone loves that 93 but it's a bit cloying combined with my chemistry).

As most have said before, there is a masculine poof of cologne and leather at the beginning that very quickly settles. My skin tends to turn things a bit sweet, so the anise picks right up. The incense is very sweet but not sacchrine and the leather remains notable however it gets a little buttery. mmm. There's a feeling of a heady floral that comes out on drydown? I know it's not there, but anyways.. Kinda like tavern of hell or jazz funeral...very well mixed. Great scent for upcoming summer!

  4. I didn't know what to expect... my skin loves this thankfully!

In imp and wet, smells of fresh stony dirt and sweet roses with a slight green note that could only be the rose leaf and spanish moss combo.

Drydown is the best. The roses soften to a sweet sugared confection with the dirt and the green hangs back after a hard burst in the wet phase. Now it wafts and hangs in a light fog around me. Really really lovely and what a surprise!

    Thanks fellow Maine bpal'er! ;)

  5. Bit of a sugary rose with slight spice. Still a bit strong on the rose for me to enjoy. I was hoping the adjective "gentle" would be more accurate. then again, it's rose! What was I expecting? Silly me. ;) Up to the swaps it goes!

  6. This reminds me of visiting the mall.. but not in a bad way. Smells a bit like the sweet fruity floral mixes that lingerie and body cosmetics shops permeate and purposely waft out into the corridors to entice customers into their stores. ;)

In imp: sharp floral, bit of grass, and something buttery like a sweet musk?

Wet: florals explode on this. Not the lavender, don't worry about that, but more about the bluebell and something iris or buttercup-ish.

Drydown: After all settles in, the incense has a chance to glow. A mischeivous golden scent, living up to it's lab description.

  7. Thanks tuberose, for staying in line. That was a relief!

Like others have said, this is dominantly fruity with a fresh floral background, The amber and sandalwood grounds the bunch nicely, making it palatable instead of overpowering. The orchid came out on drydown, giving this a creamy vanilla-like whisper. Completely underrated!

  8. This is a very gentle scent. Light, sweet, florals that can totally be a "go to" for any situation. The lily is not overpowering (whew) and neither is the jasmine. I equate it to a Pannychis with a pure sugary instead of a currant fruity spice background. Mmmmm!

  9. Weird.. the hyssop and olive jumps out on this one. This is a crisp, sharp, but also creamy floral on my skin. However further on the drydown, this gets sharper and sharper.... then poof, soft floral. The olive is predominant with a heady flower? Hmm. strange!

Edit: this is beautiful after it settles in. Clean sweet, smooth floral!

  10. First out of the imp, this smells like fresh cut flower stems laid on summer grass. Overwhelmingly sad smell however. This is not bright and refreshing to me.

There was a sweet burst that happened during drydown. However it was quickly replaced by a soapy grassiness on my skin.

  11. This is way more refreshing than any body wash or soap I've ever used. Yes, it has an undeniable drug store body wash freshness to it. However this grows on me. Makes me miss a few drug store products' fragrances (that on the other hand, I don't miss for their weird chemicals and animal testing)

  12. Like many others, I think of this as a sweet light cotton smell. Definitely soft and sweet with a bit of vanilla backing? Smells a bit like Black Lace... Maybe because it's aged a couple years now. Ooorrrr a less heady version of perle von mauren. I really like it, surprisingly enough! I usually steer cllleeearrr of clean smells!

  13. Beautiful!

In imp and wet, the paperwhites are stronger. This isn't a knock you back strong scent, however.

Wet to drydown, the paperwhite mellows and narcissus, smoke and sweet lily come out. Hazy floral cloud. Very dreamy.

  14. Strange.. in imp and wet I can detect roses more than anything. The wood and spices don't dominate as much and I thought they would? I guess my skin amps rose.

Stays pretty true from imp to drydown. there's a green to yellow spice backing the rose and a red lacquered wood similar to Red Queen (no lollipop sweetness however..) Not bad!

  15. Memory flood! Reminds me of when I was working at an eclectic hippieish/what-not shop in Harvard Sq. :)

Smells spicy in the imp and first wet. As soon as body heat has an affect on it, the red musk swirls out. This has a slight dragon's blood feeling to it (my friiieennd).

Drydown, the musk burns off of course and the spices are medium strength/throw and warm (think high quality indian incense.. like celestial spice). Very balanced warm scent. Anyone that likes dragons blood and egyptian musk combos will sure love this one!

  16. In imp and first wet, this smells like a cleaning solution on me. Much less herbal and citrus than I expected.

Unfortunately, drydown didn't offer much more joy. Carpet cleaner on me. Yucky! Up for swapperoos.
