    Elegba

Whee! this one leaps at my face straight out of the imp. The throw is strong and direct, but not unpleasant. Wet: Sugared coconut rum and sludgey, soporific sweetness. Cousin of Kill Devil, if you will. Drydown: morphs a little as the tobacco comes out adding a more organic feel. the coconut rumishness stays prominent Becomes sweet, seductive, a touch musky. I love it.

    Eden

Warm, sweet, meaty, no spice. toasty brown with syrupy golden notes. Smells delicious! In imp and wet, the fig leaps and the almond + coconut rises with it. Drydown adds an element of downy greenness.. surprising! Smells more coconutty at this stage with a hint of tropical florals. I get a bit of a sweet incense impression from all the mingling. Very lovely!

    Grand Guignol

Frimp from the lab! Definitely not boozy.. I was hoping for a bit more of that. This is definitely apricot with a touch of sweet booze. Very mellow and I can see the Josie association.

    Masquerade

In imp and first wet: patchouli with orange blossom Wet: things start to meld and swirl. All notes are there! Drydown: spicy sweet carnation and glowing orange blossom with a touch of earthiness and body from the ambergris. This radiates orange warmth!

    Bathsheba

The Seventh Daughter, Daughter of the Oath. She was King David’s lover, and the mother of King Solomon. Her scent is breathtakingly lovely, exotic and powerfully sensual in its innocence: carnation, sensual plum, and Arabian musk. I tried this on, drank some strong coffee, ran around the house, and forgot what my initial impression was... start over! In imp and first wet: spicy plum! Further into wet and drydown: the musk comes out however still holds the sweet spicy mix of plum and carnations. Drydown: holds the same for me. this does well with layering and multiple applications.

    Imp

Golden bronze orange effervescent! This is reallllly nice. The patchouli pops a bit more on me than others have mentioned however the fruits and amber still have staying power to temper it.Not bottle worthy but I like it enough to use up an imp of it!

    Imperious Tiger-Lily

I know the original tiger lily was preferred because it was lilies and honey.. I thought this was the same mix, without having looked at the ingredients! The lilies open up strong and a bit powdery (as they are wont to do) but further into drydown, neroli and purple fruits are prominent giving this a honeyed taste. It's not just a 2 sided fragrance, you can tell they changed the formula to give it more dimension and staying power. I'm debating a bottle.

    Absinthe

In imp and first wet: this smells like true absinthe straight from the bottle. Further in toward drydown it smells like I drank it and it's oozing out of my pores. I get the bitter wormwood and anise and sour lemon. The mint burned off and left a dried version of itself. End result: woody and medicinal smelling with more cardamom. Some may love to smell of this all the time.. but I prefer the "come hither" stinkies. I'll keep it around for the novelty though!

    Bon Vivant

mmmmm. In imp: very champagneish with very little strawberry Wet: Same: Drydown: champagne mellows to a light white sparkling grape and strawberry takes over. Very nice!

    The Antikythera Mechanism

Mmmm. This smells really "rich". Refined glowing wood and vanilla with a sweet cologne undercurrent from the tobacco. The throw is great and same from imp to drydown. Very impressed!!!

    Santo Domingo

in imp and first wet: whoa bay rum! Bit cologney because of the tobacco leaf and floral mix. Wet: same! Drydown: this would be a great sweet men's fragrance. turns a bit powdery and traditional on me but I think that wouldn't happen as much on men. ETA: ok I just tried this again and wow.. it's great. sweet tobacco and bay rum. something that smells a bit like dates but I think that's just the tobacco. Sweet sweet flowers. YUM.

    Intrigue

Whoa tropicaliness. On first sniff the other day, this smelled stronger of cocoa and fig. Now the palm seems to be giving it a floral essence and I can smell a touch of brown moist wood. In imp and first wet I thought I smelled some teaberry? that could have attributed to the pickle juice comment above. this burned off quickly and was replaced by warm brown fruit and wood. Drydown: interesting. not sure if palm works with me. still getting an underdeveloped teaberry with the mix. The meaty fruit is there but getting obscured. Spicy floral element with fat fruit and not really getting any cocoa... Need to try this again later.

    Jezebel

OMG.. this scent begs the phrase "Who.. me? Why I would never!" in that kind of deceptively evil coyness we've all seen from female troublemakers of the romantic kind. Comes off a bit more powdery than sweet syrupy honey. I think the orange blossom/rose combo is pouffing this up a bit. reminds me of olden days women's perfume with a modern sweet twist. The powder burned off slightly however the rose is still throwing what would be a perfect combination for me. If I wanted to corrupt the butcher or milkman or even the mayor, in the 1950's-60's, this surely would have been my signature scent.

    White Rabbit

One word: peculiar. This is reminiscent of a lush signature scent that's escaping my olfactory quick ref. Alkmaar? Uuuh banana moon? Oh wait it's gone now.. First whiff comes off as Portuguese sweet bread & butter with a bit of tea and pepper to me.. (I think the white pepper is tricking my nose... Still..thankful it isn't pulling it's normal joke of smelling like stomach acid vomit though!! ) This mellows to a lovely round linen and ginger combo. Very nice! Glad this was the catalyst for my recent order.. Thanks Mari!

    Gomorrah

Mmm. the sweetheart freaked out about this one. He loves it. earthy dirty and sweet. Something like fresh dirt and patchouli are the undercurrent upon application... the upper layer is sweet ripe figs and dates. Not pulling much currant out today however I was the 1st time I tested? Very brown & black. The dirt/patchouli burns off slightly to release a bit more of a golden smell from the fruits. I'll have to give this a few more tries before debating a bottle. Seems what others fancy on you aren't always the ones you flip your lid over. I do like this a lot however!

    Dorian

I've avoided getting many of the smash hits from the lab at once. Dorian just came with Monday's order. Wow. This morphs each time I wear it. Yesterday it smelled mostly vanilla and floral (a la Black Lace). Today, I can smell a bit more of a cologne and floral mixture, obviously giving it a more masculine spin to the sweetness.. I love it however need to weigh it out before ordering a bottle. After all, gomorrah came as a frimp and my sweetheart totally flipped over it. hmmm...

    Galvanic Goggles

Definitely smells like bathroom cleaner in the imp and first wet, as a previous poster stated. Warmth comes out as the spices and balsam get a chance to open. This is clean, lightly metallic, and warm.

    Black Moon

Whoa! thanks stellans! This is the exact scent I've been searching around for a replica of. It was used as a candle perfume about 14 years ago.. called lotus flower or something? It was sweet and oppressively sad. Melancholy and longing in a candle... now in a bottle! Found! Whoo hoo! I mean *AHEM* whhaaa boo hoo!!!

    Moon of Ice

Atleast I think this is what stellans sent me! The flowers burst upon skin contact, then a mentholish burst from the eucalyptus, and finally back to flowers but sweeter. Crisp cold icy and gender neutral.

    The Gaoler's Daughter

Someone else mentioned it and I agree: this morphs differently whenever I wear it. Both times I rotated the bottle exactly the same amount to ensure anything that could have settled to the top was remixed. In imp: vanilla is super detectable here. Can smell peaches but none of the florals or neroli really. Wet: vanilla amber burst and the peaches get syrupy like someone smushed them onto my arm with vanilla caramels and honey. Drydown: gardenia and neroli has appeared! The gardenia is not as heady, being up against such prominent sweeteners. The magnolia in Josie did a bit more scrappy fighting to stay a level with the peach. However if Josie was too much for you.. definitely try this one! She's much less brassy.

    La Vague

Yummmm. Just received this today. In imp: candy sweet peaches Wet: this changes so much! and for the better. The cream amps on my skin. More like the ingredients have been reversed! the bf says it's a little spicy..? anyways.. the osmanthus and jasmine pop out however too hard to detect the lily of the valley here. Very little grape pulled here and the tangerine is giving it a garnders creamsicle feeling. Does that make sense? No. Didn't think so. Drydown: Yay! More jasmine and lily of the valley are detectable. The cream mellowed (whew). It keeps morphing and mellowing until it's a sleepy, haze-inducing love. Feels like I'm being cuddled to sleep in the sun.

    Fruitcake

Received as part of a superfluous gift pack (thanks!) Mmmm dried fruits, syrupy cherries, and creamy cake!

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

On first application and in imp it smelled a bit like a fish tank...? Not in a bad way. But that mossy water plant and electric whir smell. Wet: opened much more nicely than expected. Still a bit fish tank-ish but sweet cinnamon and vanilla come out. Drydown is the best part. Totally sweet juicy, spicy and sexy. Not sure what the tank thing was all about. Puzzled but end result, happy. ETA: definitely has cinnamon in it... contact dermatitis! Up to the swaps it goes...

    Urd

OOOOOHHHH.... Sweet white grape patchouli and nag champa. Little I could add to this.. all the previous reviews will tell you everything you need to propel you towards a bottle. However, on drydown, this smells a bit bo-ish on me as the grapes subside. I suggest layering to keep the notes detectable.

    Uruk

In imp: strange... blonde leather and apricots? Wet: turns into almond paradise on me. Sweet tropical flowers with slight night blooming jasmine tinge, fig, and almonds with a dirty tobacco underscore. Drydown: lightens significantly. bergamont becomes dominant. I equate this to the complexity and tone of kubla khan. Nice but I wish it had more staying power.
