    Oya

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this one. It's herbal and slightly bitter with a waft of plum in the background. Some edible herbs but more rooty and poisonous smelling. maybe a waft of men's cologne.. Interesting notion. I'll have to come back to this one. ETA: my chemistry has changed and I LOVE Oya now. Its deep plum and something that smells like Vanilla Fields with a touch of lily of the valley or african lily. Fucking over the moon on this one!

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

This started off with patchouli dominating at first then morphed to more of a red musk pomegranate plum snake oil. It's smoky, spicy, VERY RED, not too wet. Like it but it's not performing the magic it seems to do for others. It turned a little cough syrupy on me at drydown. I'll keep it around in hopes that it will eventually agree with my skin. I am in my 30's after all.. the age decade where body chemistry goes bonkers!

    Eros

Strange.. I seem to be the only one that gets lilac as the strongest note when wet. Honey wine runs up along side it shortly after and the myrrh and resins blossom wonderfully. Drydown is a bit weak and only offers resins and tea leaf with a ghost of the wonderful lilac/myrrh combo.. but I love the process so much I bought a bottle!

    All In The Golden Afternoon

Funny. I felt the same way as kikithepirate when I first applied it. I first smelled dryer sheets, with the application arm rested away from my face. The sun baked flowers took over the scent. Then I picked up some pineapple, amber, & apricot. I tried a second slather because it seemed bizarre to me.. same.. Then I tried rubbing the mixture around a bit... BINGO! The mixture activated and the "vision" or atmosphere of a sun-baked sweet summer picnic complete with tobacco pipes unfolded! Warrants slathering to ward off the strongest top note: flowers.

    Tezcatlipoca

Yum. The cocoa and leather are a strong but equal couple in the beginning. It mellows a bit on drydown so you can smell a waft of incense and flowers. This is like Bow & Crown of Conquest> one step in the sweet direction (cocoa instead of sage/carnation)

    Deadly Nightshade Honey

Effervescent floral green honey. It's the champagne note I remember from Bon Vivant mixed with a white/green floral and sweet sweet honey. Apparently this one likes me... The florals go slightly soapy on the drydown, but all the new Apiary scents seem to tend towards that. More linen/cotton clean soapy than soap soapy. Think soft honey cotton. I thought I wasn't going to like this one because in the imp it's very sharp green like a lot of RG scents. However this is a winner for anyone that loves sweet clean cottony smells!

    Coral Snake (2006)

Wow! I can smell all the fruits and flowers when wet but the SO is having a hard time competing. Primarily spicy red apple and plumeria with a hint of blood orange wet. Gardenia isn't notable here. Lemon peel could be giving it the spice effect? Drydown, the SO comes out. It's a lovely combination on me. Everything else is masking my ability to distinctly smell gardenia, which I love. I think it's changing the background composition slightly however! Love it. Supremely yummy and seductive.

    Goblin

Wow! Much more balanced than Depraved. I was expecting the patchouli to take over on this one, but no! Exactly as described. The coconut is actually the strong element while wet, then they're all even in drydown. Very nice!

    Ether

Mmmm. This is wonderful. Clear, bright, ethereal (as lab described) citrus & flowers. As expected, it burns off pretty quickly, but great while it was around!

    Xiuhtecuhtli

The sweet orange took over and combining with the plumeria smelled like sweet grapefruit to me. The incense and copal underneath smells a bit like strong white musk. Very similar to Cheshire Cat, amplified. Smells MUCH different than I pictured it! It's still nice, but I was totally surprised.

    Jerusalem Cherry Infused Honey

Yesssss! I got my wish (kinda) for something that smells like ground cherries! Wet: Green, viney, sweet, juicy, slightly acidic top note, and fresh smelling without going into baby powder or girly territory. Drydown: tomato/ground cherry smell is still there..There's something coming out that smells like orchid to me. Also, for some strange reason there's also a green pumpkin note? Glad to see Schmoozy got the same feel.. I'm not crazy! yay! hahahaa This is strange and unfamiliar without being scary or disorienting. Love it.

    Kitsune-Tsuki

This IS like Suspiro but better! I read that in an earlier post. It was the catalyst for my ordering of this one. The plum bursts at first and there's a sharp china berry pouf (daffodil?). However this mellows quickly. Drydown, the plum, orchid, and jasmine twine while the musk provides a nice platform. My nose still associates the top note as a jammy tart berry even though it's not in there. Love it. I can see the association w/ B&BW or Victoria's Secret. This is a bright youthful sweet/floral combo. However, this is more rewarding because you know this isn't some weird artificial chemical completely not derived from plants made to smell natural.

    Fire of Love

Patchouli, cedar, dragon's blood, and a hint of orange blossom or neroli or something? It gets sweeter and a bit more orangey as it dries down.

Chaos Theory VI: Recursive Self-Similarity v7

I got 2 bottles: 146: rich rich vanilla with something gummy making the mixture thick and tacky..benzoin and myrrh? It's like an amplified Snake Oil. I really like it! I need to apply it in small amounts though. I applied a moderate test amount to my wrist and it was overwhelmingly strong. ETA: I noticed last night, as lamp light was shining through the bottle that there was something dark in the bottom half. Guess I forgot to shake it up! The dark stuff is cocoa! Vanilla, cocoa, benzoin, and myrrh. ETA (again..) This is actually a sweeter version of Boomslang with more throw. There's maybe a red or black musk? Can't tell which one but it LASTS FOREVER.. 137: vanilla strawberry (maybe guava?) coconut incense. Like exactly what you smell wafting from head shops and street vendor incense tables! ETA: the incense note has tempered. This smells like strawberry cheesecake! I'm addicted to it.

    Blood Pearl

I'm having a difficult time pulling a complete nose full off this. Hmm. Very light.. From what I have read orris is known to smell like raspberries or violets, I can sense that. There's a very light touch of dragon's blood. Dragon's Milk light. The coconut is more of an additive than a fixture in the scent. I like it, just not enough throw.

    Obatala

Not remembering the exact mix when I applied it and looking afterward, I was pleasantly surprised that it came across EXACTLY as the lab's order of ingredients. Very easily definable to my snooter. Creamy, crisp, smooth as silk, and SOOO soothing. Perfect for hot summer days! (not that we get many here in maine.. )

    Destroying Angel

Maybe the labbie picked this as a frimp because of my Ether/Fae/Obatala picks? Not sure.. but great choice! Airy, light, crisp, translucent dirt. This is a "summer dirt" scent if I've ever smelled one! Awesome! OK, editing to add that the previous poster had the same experience as me! It smells like a white floral now mixed with cream and loam!

    Fae

Strange.. when I first applied this and moved my nose away, I got a quick whiff of anise? anyways.. In imp and wet: sweet, milky, peaches, slight bergamont just keeping it crisp. I take it the white musk is the creamer in the mix. Drydown: I can smell a touch of earthy oakmoss, but it's not notable unless you're really familiar with the pure essence. Still peachy, slightly less creamy however the bergamont still smells creamsicle-ish. This is the winner in my light scents category! Great for all occasions and moods. I'm so glad the lab gave me an extra imp of it!

    Door

Wow. This is amazing. I just wish it had more staying power! In imp and wet: the nicotiana and cistus (rock rose) poufs strongly at first, giving this a sharp green/white medicinal tobacco, rose, & honey smell. Drydown smooths and rounds so nicely though! It becomes sweet, lightly floral like a mead, and creamy (not powdery, thankfully!!)

    Yew Berry Infused Honey

In imp and wet there's an evergreen waft surrounding the dominant smell of honeycomb. Slightly waxy and glossy red smelling.. Drydown, the waxiness subsides a bit and it develops into a creamy spicy honey. Color impression is iridescent sheer red instead of glossy thick red now..

    Sexual Energy

I didn't see this located anywhere else... Strong cinnamon and wood. Slight red sweetness underneath too. It's reminding me of something candy like and edible that's not redhots.. I can't remember! argh! ok so maybe it is redhots..hmm. Well the skin sensitivity didn't happen maybe because it's aged. Very much like All Night Long.

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

Maybe because this is aged.. smells mostly if cardamom first wet. There's a little sweet caramel & cherry. Drydown offers a bit more sweetness as the straight up spice burns off a bit. Bit of a perfumey booze smell like kill devil in the background. mmm

    Giant Vulva

Hmm. In imp and wet: the note that amps on me is vanilla flower/orchid. There's a slight honey musk burst too. Drydown: mostly vanilla flower and a touch of copal? maybe the decant I received was slightly separated..? This isn't as sweet and musky as others have expressed. I like it..just surprised.

    The Torture Queen

First impression: gleaming white tea In imp and first wet: the notes of this are very distinct, sharp, white, iridescent, and translucent. So, great job on matching the image BPAL! The gardenia and tea are the strongest here with a waft of vanilla and metal around the back. Strange! It's giving me a brain squeeze because my senses reject anything white or green tea.. but I'm enjoying the jolt. Drydown: pretty much the same but slightly softer. I actually like it.. reminds me of all the white tea and green tea lotions I tried during that market craze in the late 90's/early 2000's.

    Ysabel

Mmm. Smells like Potion lotion from Lush. And a bit like Cosmic Dreamcatcher because of the cedar. This is a wonderful red velvety dry blend. The pomegranate is slight enough that I don't wince, cringe or balk! Miraculous!
