  1. MAD for Dawn: Priestess - it is the sex.

backthatelfup, have *you* actually tried Rose Red or The Peacock Queen yet? They're coming down for the year in a couple of weeks, and I think you should try them if you've decided you love rose! :)

I have not tried any of the Dawns beyond Cernunnos which is one of my absolute faves. In my experience I can't do jasmine because I amp it and smells like poop (true story) to me. I was eyeing Dawn: Mother just last night though...

I should check out Rose Red and/or The Peacock Queen. I do love rose. So pretty. I can't wait till summer so that my rose bushes will bloom and I can inhale them!

  2. I really dig Tezcatlipoca and if you can find it, Ghoul Hooligan (one of my FAVES EVER). Ein Kuss Von Krampus is a nice sweetly spiced scent on me and Velvet is awesome too.

Is there a chocolate and red musk scent I am missing out on? Those are two of myf ave BPAL notes.

If you like blood musk...I would recommend The Tell-Tale Heart. Blood Musk and Cocoa :yum:

Tell-Tale Heart: This is a swollen, pulsating, thudding scent, heavy with dread; a steady, unceasing, throbbing harbinger of retribution and doom: blood musk, cocoa, black pepper, allspice, dragon's blood resin and vetiver.

Yeah...going to have to try and find it. XD

  3. I'm poking this thread because I love Dawn: Cernunnos something fierce as well as Thanatopsis but well, it's 70 degrees here. As much as I love them it's just not the weather for these.

I might have to check out Moon of Small Spirits; I just haven't found a BPAL white floral I can do and I'm wary around certain musks. But this 'green' profile is totally swoon worthy.

  4. In the Bottle: Chocolate and cinnamon

Wet on Skin: Cinnamon goodness, chocolate and the pumpkin/beer start to creep out and mix and...

This scent smells like a chocolate version of the corn farina my abuela used to make us in the morning with a hit of funk to keep it from getting too foody. I'm guessing it's the cinnamon and the cereal aspect of the beer tempered by ghoul funk and yeast that make this amazing.

It has THROW! AND LONGEVITY?! DANG!

This is by far my FAVORITE scent EVER.

  5. What the hey, I'll take a turn.

Introverted and/but friendly. SAHM, elf lover, brown. Hippie but loves computers/technology. Writes fantasy, loves mythology/religions. Favorite animals are mollusks, crustaceans, turtles and tortoises. Can be loquacious but loves free/alone time to reflect. Motherly, pretty laid back, loves RPGs, my spouse, my kid. Love trickster deities, can't do chaste deities. Sun in Cancer, Moon in Libra, Aquarius rising I believe.

And on a perfume related note, dislike white flower smells.

I think I did this correctly...*drinks more coffee*

  6. I got this on a whim. My spousal unit picked this one and I tried it alongside two other from this series and hot diggity if it isn't the clear winner as far as strength goes. Something about this reminds of 'Now Winter's Nights Enlarge,' a kind of warm, kindled sweetness. The clove is the predominant note but for the record, my skin likes to amp clove. However, the other notes make this a very likeable version on me, smoothing out the edges. I only get a HINT of plum; it's mostly the other three but I'm happy with it. This is striking me more as a warm autumn day scent more than a spring scent. Would get a bottle.

  7. In the bottle, I believe this is very well blended. I get a hint of smoke, rose and things I'm not familiar with. It's really nice, actually!

On me: this is walking through Portland and seeing bushes of roses and not being able to keep from putting your face into their nethers. Then rose perfume. Not old lady rose perfume. But never does the pipe tobacco or incense or shittim wood come out to play.

    Bollocks.

  8. I just got a decant of this the other day and after yesterday's super disappointing testing, I decided, hey, try to Furie.

In the decant: honey. Dripping down your hand and stuff is stick to it honey, with a bit of vanilla and those spices.

It starts of with rich, almost dusty(?) honey and I don't smell the Snake Oil aspect at all. Then it morphs into...something akin to Now Winter's Nights Enlarge, a caramelly-vanilla-warmness, like its little, saucy sister. Now, it's back to Snake Oil, closer to the aged stuff and I'll be blasphemous and say: I prefer my Snake fresh. Old Snake Oil just doesn't waft on me, has no life. It just sits on my wrists.

And my wrist is itching slightly. That's kind of a deal breaker.
