    Paladin

Simple and soft leather sweetened a tiny bit. Very faint on me, especially for a leather blend. There is barely a hint of frankincense and metal. I get no vanilla or white musk. I think I'll keep my decant for when I get some more RPG samples and try some layering combos.

    Calico Jack

Reminds me of a salty, and leather Ekhidna. I kinda like it.

    Love

Rose. Sweet, soft and kinda vanilla rose. But still just rose. Sharp drydown midway through - it doesn't quite hit soapy rose territory but it's close.

    Uncle Brian

Initial application is pure yummy creamsicle with a hint of the merlot gelato and the tang of the lime. Sadly, it goes through this awful plastic headache inducing stage but after about an hour it's back to orange creamsicle again. Since the plastic stage is so awful I think I'll just keep my decant and use it in my scent locket.

    Daddy

Licorice, faint lilac and tea. Sticks very close to skin and fades super quick.

    Cykranosh

Very sour on my skin. Powdery. Not for me, but smells incredibly true to the notes listed.

    Self-Portrait

At first the honey musk was doing that kinda funky thing that can happen with fresh Lady Una or the drydown with Half-Elf V5 - kinda sour/sweet. But man, give it an hour or so and it becomes the sweetest, softest skin musk ever. Debating tracking down a full imp or maybe even a partial.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Ooh, Caper you have Unseelie in that type of bottle? Niiccee. Thanks for posting those pics SSDB! I got into bpal in 2009 and I only have one cobalt bottle in my collection. Sadly, it's horrible on me so it's on my swaps page. I'm hoping to collect some since so many of my fav GC blends age so well.

    Baku

I'm an insomniac. Have been since I was a teenager. It comes and goes with the levels of stress in my life but it's always there. I take meds when I'm desperate but try to find alternatives whenever possible. TKO was too fluffy sweet for me (but the massage oil is great - try it if you haven't) and I went through a whole bottle of Nanshe and was pleased with the sleep I got. Baku, completely beats everything. Hands down. I slept like a baby last night. Even with having a cup of coffee late in the afternoon which always screws me up. It immediately made me relaxed and within 20 min of crawling into bed my eyes were heavy. I slept a full 7 hrs (I average apx 4.5-5.5 hrs of sleep a night). Bonus - no dreams. I have very vivid and intense dreams and one of the things I hate about melatonin and my scrips are the unsettling and weird fucked up dreams I have. Baku really chases the nightmares away. And it smells amazing. Sweet, earthy, herbal lavender and licorice. It helps that I've never met a BPAL lavender blend I didn't love (aside from the aforementioned TKO) and I find black licorice tasty and the smell reminds me of my grandma who adores licorice allsorts. I'm so extremely happy I ordered this bottle blind. It's going to become a nightly ritual. Beth is a genius.

What do bottles and labels look like?

The Feed Me/Fill me has already been posted but here's The Cat and the TAL small batch of Sunlight (and the Bow and Crown of Conquest which has a really cool label for a GC).

    Lil' Menes' Feline Entertainments

OMG this is so, so awesome. Has a similar style on me to Tombeur and Crowley minus the leather. Slightly herbal and very, very sexy. LOVE. Little goes a looonnng way though - and the kitteh didn't like it.

    Frost Moon

Very soft and faint, with a cool, aquatic vibe. Loses its sweetness the longer its on my skin but the cold/aquatic note doesn't make my head want to explode which is a first for me. I think it will fair better in my locket and I can see myself reaching for this in the hot summer months.

    King Mandarin

This is like Christmas to me. Growing up, we rarely bought a box of clementimes excpet around the holidays. No matter how much you washed your hands after indulging, they still smelled of them, usually because you'd have a little of the rind stuck under your fingers nails. Sweet, juicy and SO realistic, but fades in minutes. Happy I have a scent locket so I can enjoy it for hours and I can't wait to layer it with something. Love this.

    Madagascan Vanilla Rum

This was a complete and epic fail on me. Smells like a lovely vanilla YUM in the bottle and is PURE plastic yuck on my skin. It's actually just awful. Sigh. Oddly, it reminds me of the same dry, dusty sweetness of Butterscotch Balls and Black Beetles.

    Scent for Halloween?

I like this plan! I'm going to wear Cake Smash v6 to work today, which will at least make me happy and hopefully improve moods around me! Hope it helps you out today! I'm going to do the same thing but wear Halloween: Las Vegas since a sweetheart customer took pity on us and brought us a tray of red velvet brownies with cream cheese icing. Bonus: Exhibit Hall Fatigue Bath Oil is the BEST the morning after Black Friday to get your body going. Have a feeling I'll need gallons to get through to New Years.

    Scent for Halloween?

Debated on wearing Unfortunate Shopping Cart at my retail job today but decided smelling like baked goodies was better than blood and metal and might make the customers happier. Seemed to work - got a lot of comments on how yummy and cinnamony I smelled. Thanks Maison En Pain d’Épices!

    Karmê (Κάρμη)

I don't pick out any particular note but I get soft, sweet and earthy. I like it, it's nothing like anything I already own and I will for sure use up my imp.

    De Sade

OMG. Finally a pure leather scent that works on me. Not chemical or sour or headache inducing ~ just supple, simple and almost sweet leather. I will be hoarding this imp like crazy and might share it with the right guy.

    The Storyteller's Parlor Atmosphere Spray

OMG, the firewood! Just STUNNING. I grew up in rural Ontario in various old farmhouses that always had a wood stove, fireplace or both. This just takes me back. The pipe smoke is sweet and the leather is indeed the good stuff. You don't need a lot either ~ a little goes a long way.

    Konditorei Atmosphere Spray

This is AMAZING. Pure foodie love, but not overpowering or cloying and man, has it got staying power on my pillows. Well worth it to anyone who was on the fence to track down a bottle or stalk etsy to see if it goes up again.

    Scent for Halloween?

Wore Anactoria 2010 yesterday (oh gods, I love that one) and today I've got a bit of a stomach issue so I'm waiting until I feel better later before I put anything on.
  22. OMGosh, really?? I received a frimp of that from the lab that I haven't tried it yet. Ghoul is in my top 5 BPAL scents of all time. I will have to go and test this, thank you! I tried it last night. It was REALLY similar ~ has a similar dark, smokey feel. Old Demons just lacks the leafy/woody note. I may have to experiment and layer this with a green note and see what I can come up with. Thanks for sharing this!

    Old Moon

This is lovely! Soft, sweet vanilla with a hint of leather. It's the leather that could go awful on me, but instead behaves and stays under the gorgeous vanilla. As it dries the dusty note comes out and the paper emerges. The faded and dustiness reminds me a tad of the dry down in Phyllocrania Paradoxa V1. It's for sure a keeper and I can't wait to see how it ages.

    Quirkiest, most bizarre oils

UNFORTUNATE SHOPPING CART Powder-coated steel, caster wheels, cling wrap, and blood. It shouldn't work on me, but man it does. The metal is lovely and the blood is almost sweet on my skin. It's a fantastic blend actually, comes across as almost aquatic but wearable since I hate most aquatic scents. Pretty much anything in the WKAP line is quirky as hell. I bought a bottle of Cupcake Spatter Pattern Analysis (Frosted chocolate cupcakes and filth) right from it's initial release at SDCC 2009 and had to get rid of it after about a year of aging. The filth become more prominent on me than the chocolate. Smelled like chocolate over rotting garbage.
