    Versailles

On me it starts out a citrusy golden sweetness underlaid with powder. It was quite nice. After about 45 minutes, the citrus was mostly gone and the sweet powder took over. It's intensely sweet, heavy and cloying. The powder keeps getting stronger and stronger as time passes. My body chemistry is cruel. I might use up the imp in layering but won't be springing for a bottle.

    The Dormouse

The description sounded so good but The Dormouse is not working on me. I've tried it twice and the teas never came out. I just get green soap from beginning to end. I think I'll need to pass along the imp and hope it finds a home with someone whose chemistry is friendlier.

    Marie

First impression was VIOLET!! Sharp and bittersweet. A few minutes later the rose started to come out, with an ever-so-slight powderiness. Still very sharp, almost sour. This isn't a gentle and demure rose, it's an aggressive and biting one, reminding me of the dangerous-feeling rose note in L'Artisan Parfumeur's Voleur de Roses. Finally a bit of sweetness emerges, but it's not a gentle sweetness, it's the sharp slightly bitter sweetness of candied flowers. It's an interesting scent but I can't see myself wearing it much.

    Somnus

Somnus gets two big thumbs-up from me! I'm not a huge fan of the lavender/jasmine scent but that's okay because it's not a bad scent, and it works so well. Normally I have terrible problems falling asleep, lying in bed for 2 hours or more becoming irritated and bored, unable to drag myself out the next morning because I didn't get a good night's rest. Using Somnus, I fall asleep quickly, stay asleep, and wake up much more easily. I got an imp from a forum member and after 2 or 3 nights I ordered a big bottle from the lab, crossing my fingers desperately that the imp would last long enough to hold me until the bottle arrived. (it did) I've also tried TKO and while they both work for me, I find Somnus the more calming and restful of the two. I haven't had any dreams so far on Somnus nights, just relaxing sleep.

    White Rabbit

It starts out sweet and citrusy. It's very sharp on me and I'm unpleasantly reminded of household cleaner. Is this the clean linen? It completely overpowers all the other notes. When dry, I get hints of the black tea, ginger, honey, and vanilla. But they're hard to find under the plastic-y cleaner scent. Briefly, now and then, I catch a flash of what could be a really nice fragrance, but it's quickly buried again under the cleaner. I wanted to like this because the description sounded so good, but it's just not working on my skin. This is the second time I've tried it and, if anything, it's even worse than the first. I might try layering this to see if I can't find something that will tone down the plastic and bring out the other notes, but there's no way I can wear it alone.

    Sybaris

I would not have chosen this for myself based on the description, but I received it as a frimp and was pleasantly surprised. In the imp the violet was very strong and I was afraid it might go soapy on me. However, the violet seemed to vanish as soon as it hit my skin. For the first hour or two, the sharp clove and tonka bean fought with each other, each smelling strong and separate. Several hours later, the clove has mellowed, and I have a warm blend of mildly spicy incenses with a slightly creamy and chocolate-y tone. It smells lovely and expensive. Definitely a keeper, although I'll have to remember to apply it early so it has time to settle before I go out.
