  1. March Hare is predominantly apricot on me, but possibly apricot cake or apricot with a hint of kick. It is a fairly straight-forward scent in that it does't really change as it dries down, and it has moderate staying power. However, it's a really nice scent if you like apricots, and it had me craving fruity cakes all day, so I guess I am a fan! :P

  2. Fresh honeydew! Going on, it smells exactly like I've been rubbing myself over with honeydew. Which means it is entirely perfect for a warm day. As it dries down, the tartness of grape comes out more and more, but this stays a really wonderful sweet melon scent...exactly what I wanted.

  3. This is my favourite Lunacy blend by far. Peony Moon is a lovely fresh, juicy fresh floral scent. The plum blossom gives it a hint of fruitiness, but the predominant scent is clean, fresh flowers. Very pink, very fresh and very lovely.

  4. This is a scent that is very true to its description. On me, it smells like tea and ginger - ginger always is very citrusy on me, so it smells like lemon tea more than anything else. It's very sharp and fresh and clean smelling. A really nice scent to wear in the day time, in the summer or spring.

  5. Eos smells like afterglow to me. Like that lovely, warm, skin scent you get after sex. It's very sunny and warm. The jasmine and honeysuckle are the predominant notes from the start, and the scent doesn't change much upon dry down. Really lovely, skin scent - almost like the less voluptuous version of New Orleans, as has been said.

  6. This is exactly the calm, relaxing and sleep-inducing floral blend that I wanted it to be. None of the notes seem to jump out at me (apart from the lavender, perhaps), but that's a good thing. I slept like a baby last night and feel better for it. Wouldn't wear it as a perfume during the day lest I fall asleep at work!

  7. I really love this scent. It's very strong and pleasant and lasts all day. I put it on at 7 this morning and at 2 it smells just as strong as it did at 7.

This is a really lovely, juicy floral & fruity blend. At first, the rose geranium is the dominant note, but as it dries the juniper berry and jasmine get stronger and give it a certain juiciness. Very pretty and floral and feminine. Love it.

  8. Twenty-One is a perfect martini, as the description implies. I can't think of a better way to describe it! It is pine and juniper and booze and cigarettes and a swanky bar and all things sophisticated and glam. This isn't really a me scent so much, but it would be lovely to wear to a club.

  9. This is a really spicy, almost incensey-but-not, floral blend. It's sexy and sweet and lovely. The predominant note is probably the frangipani, with rose and jasmine lurking somewhere in the background. This is the kind of scent you'd wear when you want to look sweet and pretty, but with an underlying sexy kick. It's not a shy blend, at all. Really like this!

  10. I would never have bought this for myself, but I am so glad the Lab included it as a frimp. It's lovely! It is very green and herbal, with a hint of ginger and tea, which usually goes a little strange on me, but here it is lovely and fresh and clean. This is a clean, sparkling scent, with an underlying fruity citrus-y smell to it that I just love. Perfect for everyday use - it's so fresh and pretty.

  11. As with most blends with cherry in them, this is pure cherry cough syrup on me at first. Overwhelmingly so. I just don't do well with cherry. However, as it dries down the lily starts to come out, thankfully beating down the cough syrup smell and becoming a somewhat haughty, fruity floral scent that would be perfect for springtime. I just have to remember to hold my nose for the first five minutes or so!

  12. It's amazing to be wearing Budding Moon on Budding Moon :P

Budding Moon is utterly gorgeous on me. It's a very sweet, juicy kind of floral. The plum blossom is gorgeous, and the lotus root is sweet, but not the bubblegummy sweetness of lotus flower. The Chinese musk and white ginger come out as it dries down, and it seems my skin loves both notes! This is a really lovely spring scent - the scent of flowers just beginning to uncurl. Absolutely adore this one, it's so fresh and pretty.

  13. This is a happy, bubbly, daytime scent. Really cheerful, somehow. The strongest note I get in this blend is apricot. It's not too sweet, however, which is often my problem with fruity blends, and it has a certain tartness to it which I am enjoying. The white musk and orange blossom are in the background for me, although the white musk does become stronger upon drydown. Overall, a really fun, girly fruity blend that is suitable for everyday wear.

  14. I love Beth's night-time, musky scents like Nuit, Urania and The Evening Star, and as the review above says, this scent belongs to that category. The Nile lily note is awesome - like a soft, delicate, lily floating peacefully in water. The white musk is gorgeous and soft, and the frankincense adds a certain element of darkness to the blend. Night's Pavilion is gorgeously blended, and smells of the night sky, flowers, and a still pool of sparkling water. It's sad and mournful, but beautiful at the same time. I really love this, and I have to agree that it is the underrated star of the Lupercalia blends.

  15. Venus is the most perfect pale pink rose scent you can imagine. That's the only way I can think of to describe it. There's a bit of the pale green of the stem here, too, which I think is the mint, but mostly, it's pink rose. This is to pink roses what Rose Red is to red roses. Absolutely perfect and so lovely for Valentines Day.

  16. At first, the apple is the dominant note, giving The Perfumed Garden a tart, potent smell. However, upon application, the jasmine, mrytle and quince become more apparent, and there are hints of sandalwood underneath. This smells exactly like a perfumed garden, full of ripe fruits and lush flowers. It is heady, voluptuous, and really, really sexy. Excellent scent for inspiring passion! :P

I love jasmine, but if you aren't a jasmine fan, the fruitness in this blend really balances it out.

  17. I love this scent. It's utterly beautiful - very simple and uncomplicated, but strikingly beautiful at the same time. It is a soft rose scent - a little spicy - on a soft resiny base that stays fairly soft throughout dry-down, but is still definitely there. It smells like courtly love, if that is possible. Romantic and old-fashioned and elegant.

  18. I didn't think I'd like this upon first sniff, but it is drying down nicely on me. I can't really identify individual notes with this one - it smells of roses and something drier and darker to me. This is a strong, heady, powerful scent that definitely screams SEX SEX SEX to me. Which is good :P

  19. I think I'm in love with dragon's blood. Pepper and clove are not my thing at all, but I love the dragon's blood in this. Unfortunately, the pepper seems to be dominating and this is rather too 'hot' a scent for me, but for the wafts of dragon's blood I keep getting, I'll keep the imp. Might be nice to warm me up on a cold day!

  20. I couldn't even try this one on the skin. In the imp, it was overwhelmingly rancid butter and it made me gag. I was looking forward to trying a pumpkin blend, since I have no idea what such a thing would smell like, but this was just too much butter for me.

  21. This is a very strong, heady scent on me. It is predominantly floral, but with a bit of honey as well? The ylang ylang is probably the dominant note on me. It's sweet and sexy, and I can definitely see why it's called La Petite Mort! It kinda smells like afterglow and damp skin. It has a faintly candyish tang to it, as well. I like this one, but a little goes a long way.

  22. I should start this review by mentioning that vanilla is usually disastrous on me. A blend can be loaded with every single one of my favourite notes (see Bearded Lady), but it turns rancid on my skin with just a drop of vanila. So I was a little sceptical of Dorian, despite its popularity.

Well I shouldn't have worried, because I seem to have found the one vanilla scent that works on me! This is much more of a 'vanilla tea' scent than a straight vanilla one, but that suits me just fine. It smells like vanilla tea and lemon...very much a Victorian tea-party. With just a little bit of evil lurking underneath, somewhere. This is really lovely and fresh. It is a masculine scent, but I feel I can wear it, too, which is nice. Very impressed by this one!

  23. I can see where the comparisons to Dior's Poison are coming from...this is musky and sexy and dark in the same way.

I love Othello. On me, it is a very sexy, spicy, musky rose. Really exotic and gorgeous. It doesn't smell particularly masculine to me, but I do think either gender could wear it. Spicy scents are usually disastrous on me, but this one works beautifully. Even the musk is behaving itself! This is a very sexy, slinky scent and once again I am amazed by the variety of BPAL rose scents.
