  1. In the bottle: boozy apples

Wet: Faint spices, sour buttercream, artificial vanilla, a bit of apple. And some boozy apple cider.

Drydown: Spices become more apparent. Butter Cake comes out more. Apple is faintly around the edge of everything. It's not bad, a bit like a candle on me.

Dry: Spicy holiday vanilla candle. Apples are mostly gone. This really feels like I should be smelling it from a glass jar in a store. I still like it, but I feel it's far from cider cake. I think I would layer this with something else.

  2. Wet: Somewhat artificial blueberry, but still sweet, kinda like SweetTarts. Some light flower notes in the back. Guess that would be some of the lemon verbena, too. Overall, a really happy smell. Has somewhat of the same start as Bones Trombone, minus the vanilla/pie.

Drydown: Some of the lavender comes out, ends up smelling a bit like clean soap. Honeysuckle is in the background, too. Blueberry isn't very detectable. It's still a fun scent that doesn't have a big throw. Definitely reminds me of summer days.

Dry: Honeysuckle and grass. Maybe a hint of the lavender keeping it clean. And the lemon-verbena kinda bringing it all together. Definitely wouldn't consider this a foodie smell. But, if you're a foodie kinda person that can't do flowery normally, I feel like this is a step towards that. Fresh flowers without being overpowering or headache-inducing.

  3. 2014 version

In the bottle and wet on the skin: Definitely smells like the awesome eggnog of youth. Perfect balance of cream, vanilla, nutmeg. Maybe a hint of cinnamon.

Drydown: Vanilla becomes key element. I'm not experiencing the plasticy vanilla from year's past, but it doesn't smell exactly like the creamy vanilla from the beginning. I think some light fruitiness is behind it, maybe coconut. It vaguely reminds me of sunscreen at the beach, mixed with some artificial vanilla.

So, not a complete success this year if I'm gauging others' expectations accurately, but for me, it's worth it just for the initial smell at the beginning. I definitely recommend a decant if you're unsure.

  4. Gingerbread with red musk, lemon peel, sugar cane, cassia, white sandalwood, mango, and agarwood.

In the bottle: It's lovely, and sort of bready with fruits. I feel like they either blend really well, making it hard to distinguish individual scents; or I am not knowledgable enough on what they should smell like.

Wet: Gingerbread comes out. Maybe a bit of the red musk. Mango pops through occasionally. Gingerbread fades quickly, and I amp the musk.
Dry: Sandalwood and musk play in the foreground. Gingerbread has mostly faded. Husband describes it as: it's more a perfume smell, less of a foodie smell. It's ever so slightly fruity. Definitely a more modest scent, not a lot of throw.

  5. Lick It is back, as minty and sweet as ever, and now you can lick it for a good cause: proceeds from every sale of Lick It With Consent will be donated to RAINN.

I'll be first. Had my husband try this on this morning.

In the bottle: sweet and minty.
Wet: Wow, peppermint. He kept going on about how cold his skin felt.
Dry: The peppermint isn't as strong, it's pretty much faded. The sweetness is coming out, but it's not a feminine sweetness. Kinda like the sweet mint gum. It seems really unisex. The throw isn't very strong, either.

Edit: We tried this again. Nice and minty at the front, but the dry is so much sweeter on my husband. Sweet to the point of smelling feminine on him. I liked it, but he thought it made him smell like a girl. A bottle I'll give up to the swap list.

  6. Bourbon vanilla, white mint, and white chocolate with a squirt of lemon meringue and a dribble of absinthe.

I agree with everything astarinel said.

The white mint really stood out here, so it smells very clean. Kinda reminds me of old people. It reminds me of something from my childhood, too, but I can't quite place it, the dentist office maybe? The minty smell of the tooth polish they use? It's interesting, but less foody and vanilla than I had hoped. I think I was hoping for more anise scent, sweetened by vanilla. It's managed to linger all day, and smelled kinda "out of the shower" on my husband.I think if you wanted something more astringent that smelled closer to alcohol, this might work. Definitely recommend getting an imp first.
