Help fix this scent! Feat. layering!

I'll totally throw in a Mouse's Long And Sad Tale imp into your package.

    Pele

Definitely no gardenia, but with the white florals, I can understand the confusion. Yep, coconut and white ginger. Also some of plumeria, muguet, and pikake. This totally reminds me of my aunt, she must have worn something similar when I was younger. It's fresh, clean, tropical, and comforting.

    Pumpkin Spice Snake Oil

Someone threw some pumpkin cookies into my Snake Oil. I can see this aging nicely. I think I get more vanilla than anything right now. I don't know that I would recommend this to all Snake Oil fans. I think I would only recommend it to someone who likes sweeter, gourmand blends, as opposed to someone who enjoys the spicier side of Snake Oil.

    The Illustrated Woman

I was worried about this because honey is my death note. Luckily, the vanilla and patchouli are in the front, and blending well with the musk. It's a really nice, snuggly, lightly-sweet skin scent. I'm not getting any pine. And if there's tobacco, it manages to create a nice foundation for these without being detectable.

    Vespillo

Earthy and incensey. The clove and jasmine make themselves pretty apparent. This also manages to smell old and dusty, too. Overly sweet to me.

    Transeo

The Transeo are vampires that have assimilated into human society, often reaching positions of power. Among the Transeo there are many celebrated politicians, scientists, businessmen, philosophers, artists, writers, and musicians, and, surprisingly, a large number of influential clergy and militarists. Not every Transeo is an illustrious public figure; many simply desire the comforts associated with reentering society. In the past, most Transeo posed as humans as best they could, concealing their true natures. In the twenty-first century, more and more Transeo are coming out in the open, and they form the backbone of most vampire-acceptance movements. GA cologne that (almost) blends well into human society: benzoin, orange blossom, cumin, King mandarin, gaiac wood, juniper berry, Calabrian bergamot, Ceylon cinnamon, and blood camouflaged by wine. Wet: this smells more like dried roses to me, with a hint a blood. This does smell kinda antiquey and old. Drydown: sweet, dried roses. The weird tang in the background is there. I can't pinpoint any one scent. This is interesting, but not for me.

    Wolf Spider

Wet: I pick up more herbal than anything. Drydown: The tobacco comes out more. It's dry and slightly smoky. It leans masculine on me. I can't pick out coconut or anything else in particular. It's nice, but it's not the kind of tobacco I enjoy smelling on myself.

    Tobacco scents

Another one I just realized. Wolf Spider from Weenies 2012. I have an imp, and didn't enjoy tobacco at the time. Going back to it now, it's dry, and definitely leans on the masculine side for me. It goes on somewhat smelling herbal, but calms down once on. It sweetens up a tiny bit, but not much. It's worth trying if anyone is looking for a drier tobacco.

    Thirteen (13): October 2017

Wet: Chocolate, sugar, bourbon, hint of coffee. Delicious. Reminds me a chocolately version of year's past Pumpkin Latte. I think the ginger/molasses note really adds something nice to this. Drydown doesn't seem like much is changing. Maybe the heavy sugar lifts, and the coffee slowly wafts away. Just a nice cocoa note. I don't think I would compare it to Cocoa Pod, but it's a nice companion.

    Valuable, Powerful, Deserving

In the bottle, I get a sharp note. I don't get orange blossom or vanilla. I'm not sure if it's neroli or amber. It calms down significantly once it's on my skin. But it still doesn't smell like orange blossom. It ends up smelling like weird beach air, with a whiff of something citrus on the breeze. And then goes plasticy. Not sure what is going on. My skin doesn't like something here.

    Pumpkin Spice Perversion

To me, there's not much difference between the regular version and this version. It does seem to be slightly more aged than a fresh bottle of Perversion I've gotten from the lab. And there's just a hint of added sweetness behind it. Like the tonka base has a drop of autumn mixed in. Overall, it's wonderful for Perversion fans. But I wouldn't go into expecting a noticeable difference.

    Like Father, Like Daughter

So happy and so pretty! Really nice fall smell. I'd describe this as sweet, but fruity sweet. Which could be construed as less sweet than cakes, cookies, vanilla blends. Kinda reminds me of cherry chapstick or the pomegranate Burt's Bees chapstick. It doesn't last very long, though. Shortly after drydown, it sinks into my skin, and I have to get close to smell it.

Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe

Wet: masculine and clovey. I guess I'm translating the patchouli as a masculine note when mixed with cocoa and rose. I know, totally weird, and doesn't do what you expect. My nose is weird. Smelling up close, it's sweeter, maybe slightly less masculine. During drydown: The clove becomes less powerful, but it's still there. It somehow smells leathery to me. Dry: clovey tobacco/leather This is pretty, but not for me. I do think it's a cool blend for the name, though.

Cake, apples, and wisteria. I didn't expect the wisteria to be so strong. And I didn't expect for my skin to amp it. The cake and apples is apparent at the beginning, but the wisteria comes out after drydown. Not for me.

    Zip Line

Reading others' reviews, I must have received a bottle that was messed up. It smells tangy, like something is off. Like the leather is rancid? I'll let it sit for a bit, and see if it calms down a bit.

Morning in the City of Angels

This smells great in the bottle, but I'm getting some gardenia or floral that will be problematic. Maybe the sunflowers and poppies are more floral-forward than I was expecting. This smells beautiful, and I know will smell lovely on the right person. My chemistry really brings the floral the front. I was surprised with how long it lasted, too. Medium throw. It doesn't morph too much, I think sweetened sunflowers is accurate.

    Seven Word Story: Envy

I'm glad I got to smell this, but I'm glad it's going to a good home. First, I get a kinda powdery note, then a closer sniff smells a bit like a bitter weed. I can smell the smooth sandalwood in the back, but I'm guessing I'm amping the orris root, which seems kinda boring to me. It's pretty, clean skin kinda smell, and would be lovely on the right person.

    Antonino, The Carny Talker

Wet: I think the verbena, fig, and white musk work together to smell pretty lemony to me. Overall, it ends up reminding me of Pledge wood cleaner. Drydown: The coconut comes out a bit more. The sharpness from the lemon verbena calms down. The plum rounds out the flavor. It takes on a darker tone. Dry: The vetiver shows up to dry things out. The black coconut and lavender and playing in the background.

    Maenad

I can agree with sweet bubblegum. If you told me strawberry and orange blossom, I wouldn't haven't guessed. I also get honey, which I'm guessing is the orange blossom mixed with carnation. It's very pretty, VERY fruity. I would say it reminds me of "immature teenybopper" level-of-sweetness body spray. I even I like to wear those scents every once in a while. It's definitely a happy scent.

    Spiced Rum Buttercream Coffee

On me, I wouldn't compare this to The Jeweled Spider. Yes, the cinnamon definitely speaks loudly, but the curry smell from the Jeweled Spider is stronger than cinnamon. As it dries, it's definitely goes towards drier cinnamon. Like fresh cinnamon sticks. Coffee is in the background, along with the rum. It's not particularly boozy anymore.

    Knucklebones

Ugh, generic clean guy smell. There's a soap that this reminds me of. I don't even pick up the citrus and other notes people mention. Ugh, it just gets worse as it dries, it becomes sweeter and more cloying. This is the kind of smarmy guy you want to punch in the face.

    Brangwy

Wood, leather, and oudh. I get zero cardamom. Mostly earthy and woody. I wouldn't say it's exclusively masculine, but it leans that way because I don't smell any currants, either.
  23. torikitty

    Nibble Nibble Gnaw

Surprisingly, this isn't cloying to me. Boozy chocolate is pretty apt. I immediately knew I'd want a full bottle. Drydown shows that it fades pretty quickly. It doesn't morph, but the sillage isn't as high. It's still delicious, and I can see mixing this with some of the new alcoholic coffees.

    Blóðughadda

I didn't look at the notes when I tried this on. Out of the imp, I smelled amber, woody, and clove. Not exactly something I would be drawn towards. Then at drydown, I swore this was mostly a sweet tobacco. So I was surprised to see no tobacco in the notes here. I think mixing amber, clove, oudh, and saffron has this magical effect on me. When I think of clove specifically, I can smell it. But the woods, amber, and spice blend together that smell so similar to a sweet tobacco that it makes me deliriously happy.

    Alisz

Vanilla mint all the way. Totally smells like the sweet mint gum. It's not bad, but it's not my thing.
