    The Stream and the Waterfall

Bottle: peach candy wet: cedar and peach blossom! The pencil shavings slowly die down. The cherry blossom makes it light and springy. It's not overpowering, but has decent sillage. dry: the cherry blossom becomes more apparent, with the cedar taking a backseat. And it sweetens up a bit, which I wasn't expecting. This feels kinda unique to my collection.

    Kari

So, being a fruity fan, I figured the pear would fit in well with my other fruity smells. It ends up smelling like a sweet, old lady perfume on me. I think the sap rounds this out much like Strawberry Moon, where it's not overpowering, just grounding. The champaca smells like fancy soap, and the musk isn't doing much for me. Overall, this is really light. I have to get next to my skin to smell it. Kinda clean, kinda soapy, kinda grandma-ey. Actually, reminds me a bit of laundry. I think there's a laundry softener with a similar smell.

    The Lemniscate

Yep, pepper and cedar = pencil shavings for me, too. I can definitely get behind a masculine frankincense. The tobacco isn't enough to justify keeping this, or make it sweet enough for my liking.

    Blauer Mond 2018

Brian's interpretation. A whisper under the moonlight: blue musk, and indigo amber, myrrh, moonlit oudh, oppoponax, terebinth, and tobacco leaf. wet: sweet, piney candy drydown: musk and amber start taking over, and the pine just about disappears. It's still sweet, though. Kinda reminds me of hanging out at Grandma's place when she has a real tree around Christmas. dry: The oudh and tobacco start to come out. It smells a bit more ethereal. This begins to remind me of the floral body powder that she kept on the back of the toilet. I never knew the purpose for it growing up. But it smelled sweet, floral, slightly musky. This is reminding me of a grownup version of that. It is still sweeter than I was expecting, though.

    Pickle Hair Gloss

I'd say this is a lighter version of the BBW Creamy Coconut. It does feel like the perfect balance of vanilla, coconut, and tiare. And I like how it's not overpowering, but I can still smell it if I move my head fast enough.

    L'Essence de L'Engouement Hair Gloss

To me, this is a dusty version of strawberry candy. Like the french kind of hard candy with the powdered sugar on top. Excellent staying power, I could smell it on my pillowcase a day later.

    Telesto

I think the first reviewer hit this spot-on. However, the milky sweetness didn't do anything for me. I'm beginning to think I just can't do oudh at all.

    Paladin

Having just reviewed Drag is for Everyone, I can pick up some of the same notes. The musk and the frankincense standout the most. The bourbon vanilla makes it to sticky, sweet for me. I can get how a previous reviewer said it smells like OFF bug spray. I'd say that's more of a periphery smell, rather than a direct one. It starts out sweeter, staying close to the skin. I think the frankincense overtakes the musk and the leather, so I end up with this sweet floral that waffles between OFF and generic brand name perfume.

    Slay!

On me, it takes quite a while for the oudh to calm down. If VetchVesper hadn't mentioned it, too, I would have washed it off immediately. When it does finally calm down after 30 mins., I can smell the tobacco. It surprisingly single note on me. I suppose the patchouli makes it a little more intense and darker, but I ended up feeling like I have so many other good tobacco blends, I don't need to keep this.

    Drag is for Everyone

This one is surprisingly disappointing on me. It ends up smelling slightly floral, slightly musky, and ends up smelling like generic brand-name perfume. It's not overwhelming, but lasts for quite a while.

    Cinnamon Chai Cupcake

I wanted to like this so much! It smells like chai candy when it's wet. Perhaps, like a taffy or something. It's that overly-sweet, coffeehouse chai that is comforting but totally fake if you know what actually chai smells and tastes like. And I also smell a lovely vanilla cupcake to accompany that. Imagine sitting in a Sbux with a steaming, hot cup of chai, and a luscious vanilla cupcake pilled high with frosting. I don't find the cinnamon overwhelming, just enough coming from the chai. Unfortunately, this smells great for an hour or two, then goes plasticy on my skin. I hate to give up on this, but I don't want any disappointing memory associations with this kind of smell.

    Wulric, The Wolfman (2016)

In the bottle: cocoa and lavender Wet: Cocoa and musk. With a slight herbal tinge in the background. I wouldn't say cuddly, though. I think the tar and vetiver makes it feel ever-so-slightly dangerous. This is actually a really impressive blend. Dry: Sadly, the lavender is too medicinal in the drydown for me. And the vetiver kinda stomps all over everything. I was digging the cocoa and musk stage, though.

    Eve's Big Apple IV

This goes on juicy red apple. It does slowly morph. The amber and patchouli start to make you feel fancier. I don't know why, but this reminds me of walking through a Nordstroms. Slightly fruity, slightly clean, slightly rich. Interesting seeing the above review mention Apple X. This is far away from that. This is lighter and more elegant. Apple X is dark and patchouli-heavy. This is red apple rounded out by amber, tobacco leaf, and definitely sweetened by the patchouli. But the apple remains first. Apple X seems like it's patch first, surrounded by apple. Depending on what you're looking for, I would go for a decant before getting a bottle. Unless you know you like all these notes independently. I can see some apple fans being disappointed, as well as some tobacco fans. If you're an apple lover in all forms, this is a nice addition to the collection.

    Mango

When I first got this, it was definitely mango candy. Like that gummy candy you get from World Market. Trying it again last night, I got a mostly green mango note. Unripened mango, which was really surprising. I can see someone really enjoying this, but it was too green for me.

    The Stranger

Dark, slightly sweet, and foreboding. It seems like the florals are competing for attention, which makes things smell chaotic. I wanted to test this out to see how my skin would respond to lilac. Wet: mostly getting black chypre, crushed violets, and clove. Drydown: somehow it's feeling more mature. Is that the oakmoss? There's a slight smoky smell to it. Maybe the labdanum? Either way, the more masculine notes are coming out, and I'm not amping violets, lilac, or patchouli. I think the clove keeps it uni-sex, but The Stranger is a good name for this one.

    Bones Trombone

I haven't reviewed this?! Oh, how I love this creepy clown. He's fun, kinda lurking in the shadows, waiting to surprise your face with some pie! At first, I get somewhat of a menthol flavor, perhaps something slightly green. I would guess that's the hemlock, but I don't know. Someone else noticed a Carmex-like smell, so yay, I'm not losing my mind. I super-slathered, so it's taking a while for the green note to dissipate. It slowly reveals a bit of pie crust and a bit of lemon curd.

    Blue Unicorn Moon

This is a really happy scent. I guess the gumball flavor doesn't really hit me like how I expect pink bubblegum to, like how it does in A Cute Kid. It's mostly a dreamy blueberry. Bones Trombone has more of a real blueberry scent, whereas this feels like it's tinged with a bit of lavender, so it comes across cleaner. It has decent staying power, I think I got 6-8 solid hours.

    Fortuna Primigenia

The Fortunes that Govern Childbearing, the Fortunes of a Child at the Moment of Their Birth A hymn for blessing new mothers and newborn babies: white ambrette seed, motherwort, peony, jasmine tea, green tea leaf, Italian bergamot, and white cedar. (If you are pregnant or nursing, please do not use this oil, and please do not use this oil on infants or toddlers. It is best used in a scent locket, or to adorn clothing or amulets.) I'm the worst person to do the first review. I only tried a drop since I wasn't really excited about the first sniff out of the bottle. It's kinda like herbaceous pencil shavings once it's been on the skin for a bit. It's not strong, none of the elements end up taking over. It's kinda like a clean, green scent without thinking of SUPER green stuff.

    Guatemalan Volcanic Coffee Bean

COFFEE! COFFEE! COFFEE! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. Fresh espresso in your face! Not too creamy, not too sweet. From start to end, it's enjoyable. Wet, it smells like super fresh-roasted coffee beans.

    Dragon-Smooched Snake Oil

I am on the fence about this. In the bottle, I get the Snake Oil and maybe a light honey. I get the cola syrup at the beginning. During drydown, the patchouli comes to the top, but isn't in your face. The honey is light, and I don't appear to be amping it, which I'm happy about. I don't feel the dragon's blood is overpowering, and is keeping it earthier (slightly woody, slightly resinous), so it's not as sweet and cloying as regular Snake Oil. I think this will age wonderfully, though.

    Body, Remember

Everyone was going on about how sensual this is, so I had to try it. I really wasn't impressed when I first tried it from the mailbox. Now that it's had a month to sit, I'm trying it again. Sweet coconut, but not like BBW Cream Coconut. It's creamy in another way, I'm guessing from the ambergris and ambrette seed. Perhaps like a coconut cream pie with a bit of skin musk? It's really nice, but not what I would consider sensual.

    Montressor v9 Prototype

This is v9 from Etsy. Black currant or blackberry brandy. But even brandy or wine would be boozier than this comes across. Blackberry juice? Either way, it's a very dark berry-forward, which I seem to be amping. The vanilla and oak round it a bit, but it's still remaining REALLY SWEET. This reminds me a bit of Les Incubes et des Succubes, but sweeter thanks to the vanilla.

    Huit

I honestly don't know what black roses smell like. If I had to guess, I'd say dried roses that have been hanging around for a month. The fig and apricot definitely add some sweetness, but I don't feel like the fruit takes over. The fig somehow revives these roses, and makes it smell like they have been pressed up to skin for an hour. This is definitely not for someone whom roses are iffy, and possibly amp.

    Snow White Bath Bomb

A chilly, bright perfume: flurries of virgin snow, crisp winter wind and the faintest breath of night-blooming flowers. Just received my BPTP order last night. I ordered 2 bombs, one of which was starting to crumble out of it's box. Packing was in a small, flexible plastic box, then wrapped with bubble wrap. It really shouldn't have started to crumble, but OH WELL, bath now! This turns the water a lovely shade of blue/aqua. There's a few snowflakes on top of the bomb that dissolve, too. This smells like an older version of Snow White, maybe 2008 or 2010. It wasn't too overpowering, but my skin did still smell like it the next day. The water had a decent amount of moisturizing oil in it, it almost was as moisturizing as a bath oil. I was impressed. So glad I snagged 2 of these. ETA: Just used my other bomb last night. I kept it in it's bag inside the plastic box it came in on the shelf near the shower. While it maintained it's shape in the box, when I took it out of the box, I could squish it around. I don't think it affected the smell or the moisture of the bomb, it was just harder to get out of the bag.
