    Scent for Halloween?

I wore my bottle of Lick It that I was gifted/won from a wonderful forumite all weekend! It really got me through the future in-law's holidays. (We went to 4 different christmas parties over the weekend...because apparently, no one can share celebrations.) (They weren't bad parties, it was just getting to the "enough already" point.)

    Switch Witch Fall 2011!

Hello witch/random stalkers! My wishlist is current and up to date, but I can add more to it, if its not big enough for you. Just poke at me or have someone else poke me and I'll work on it. I'll try to update my "tried" list, and possibly make a list of everything I either tried, or have in my stash to try. I'm really far behind on testing decants/imps/bottles that have made their way to me. As a side note, I'm perfectly happy to get one item. I also like lots of little things too, either way or somewhere in the middle, its all good! JONES SODA CO has LE soda packs for The Guild, Buffy, D&D, So Cute, etc. Would you be interested in these, Witchee? sure. nothing I'm really fanatical about though...which isn't surprising...with the exception of bpals, I seem to be missing that gene. It's Banned Books Week! Are there any books on the list you'd be interested in checking out? I haven't looked at the list in quite a while. Banning books is silly and stupid. If anything, it makes people read the book more, to see what the fuss is about. Let people read what they want. If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? From the pet/street name: Comet 7 Sooooo Witchees, have you ever taken that particular personality test? If so, are you an Analytical, a Driver, an Expressive or an Amiable? Amiable Is anyone else afraid of or creepy out by dummies/puppets/Muppets/etc? Other things you're squicked/freaked by that's best left by the wayside? Live beetles? Nightcrawlers that I have to touch? Mosquitos and ticks! Please to keeping them out of my package! Is there any kind of international candy you love or would like to try? *grabby hands* Is there any cheesy/non-cheesy Canadian stuff you'd be interested in? You betcha! If you were to go here and create your very own chocolate bar, what might it have in it? I'm not looking! Ha ha! But dark chocolate with chili spices/cayenne and cinnamon are some of my favorites. Chocolate with coffee! Chocolate! YAyayaayayayY! Probably no on the floraly stuff though. Stuff you've been meaning to do: Update my resume! Hee hee! I have to do that this week yet! Would you be interested in regional jams, jellies, or other preserves? Yes! Do you have any bedtime rituals? Is there any particular product you have to apply or a certain shirt you wear or an act you perform to get you in the "bedtime" mood? brush my teeth? put on lip balm? Ha ha! Are you interested in today's/any recent Tee Fury shirts? Haven't looked there, and I won't! I don't need to be tempted! Princess Bride? Yay or nay? What's your favorite classic fairytale, witches If you're talking disney, I always loved Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Even as a little kid, I remember being sad when she was killed (Sleeping Beauty was such a dud of a character, so bland.) Now, I can sympathize with the witch in Hansel and Gretel. Ha ha! Ummm...no one story really jumps out at me. I'm generally not a big fan of some princess trying her best to find a prince. What about little wee creatures for your desk or mantel? Sure! Look down. What are you wearing, right now? Jean that are a size (maybe two) too big. (I didn't lose weight, they just were not the size I was expecting, and I was too lazy to send them back.) A black t-shirt that says "for a minute there you bored me to death" with a heart monitor line on it. and orange socks with happy octopi on them. Witchee, have you made (or are you planning to make) any Lab or Trading post orders soon? nope, not until I get my weenie decants at least. (And I try to not buy myself anything during a SW round.) Do you have any interest in rocks? Not like, polished colorful stones.. but like... rocks. With geologic significance! Like rocks with bits of fossils in them? That would be cool! If your witch were to knit you a scarf/shawl/cowl, which would you prefer, and what features would you want? Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? whatever my witch wants to make! Wool gives me rashes. I like things that are machine washable. (because the odds of me accidentally washing it when I'm not supposed to are pretty high.) Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you do do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? Sure, those sound fun. I also like the looks of the little National Geographic science kits and stuff like that (and my niece may have gotten a "make your own rock candy" kit just because I always had wanted one). Ha ha! Witchee, would you like a gently used BPAL tshirt? Of course I would! Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? I don't really wear bracelets a who lot, just occasionally for fancy dress up stuff. I tend to smash my arm/hands into walls and such and break everything I have. (I've destroyed about 8 watches before I gave up, and several rings got all deformed and broken.) Added note: I like Ellebelle's photography. Contact her if you would like to get something for me, but don't feel like you have to. (I really like the plants and the close-ups and the trees, and the pictures in the puddles, and the waterfalls, and gateway, and secret passage, and the redwood tress, and the ferns and the fishies!) If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? (The spice trade is a little over the top spice for me, which feels strange to say, since I love spices...but so far that's the only one I don't care for so much) layered ones that sound extra awesome to me: 1. unearthed, vanilla bean, espresso, chocolate mousse 2. limeade, coconut milk, lemon meringue, marshmallow 3. raspberry plum, buttercream cupcake, pomegranite fig, vanilla bean ok, seriously, they all sound really great! everything! How do you feel about terrariums? They're so cute!!!! *grabby hands* As much as I love them, I have no idea where I'd find room to put one, without making opening windows more of a dangerous activity than it is now. (I recently took out my aloe plant trying to open a window, but there were two babies plants in with it, so I can restart it...it looks pretty sad right now, everything on one side and half the top broken off.) Of course, I would find room somehow for a terrarium if I got one...it just wouldn't be easy. What's your favorite horror movie? Not really a big horror movie watcher. I've seen some of the Scream/I know what you did last summer movies and those were funny. Ha! I just realized I have all but the newest Resident Evil movies, for some reason they didn't strike me as horror. (And Shaun of the Dead, but that's a comedy, isn't it?) I don't like the "new" graphic torture movies that are masquerading as the horror genre now. They're just too realistic and gross for me. Do you like/own/wear/want fairy wings or something of the like? FAIRY wings? I used to have some, but I only wore them to a wedding and one halloween. They wouldn't really get any use from me. Do you like period or period-styled paraphernalia? Stuff like postcards, notecards, jewelry, office supplies, what-have-you? Sure! That all sounds nice! I'm not really attached to a period or anything, I like pretty things though! And neat looking things! And weird looking things! Things are awesome! I put up quotes I love in my office and studio to get me going, They range from goofy to sarcastic to inspirational... Are you interested in a hand painted quote? Do you have one in mind, or a topic in mind? I can't think of anything I'd want to put up at work other than "i hope you die" and i'd probably get in trouble for that. (so nothing for at work) Not sure about at home. I'm more of the goofy/sarcastic than the inspirational. Depending on the inspirational I guess. Ha! Once again, no help from me! Jane Austen .. Yay or Nay? I don't really get the appeal. I have a hard time reading her stuff, it feels more like work than fun. If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. let's see, handsoap/shower soap is whatever bar I have opened, sensitive tooth toothpaste (I've been using a crest something) and deodorant is one of the Dove kinds (usually the one with ginger in it, but sometimes I switch it up for fun). I use lip balm all day long, like some sort of junkie. I love the little "add to a bottle of water" flavor packet things, now that its getting colder I'll be replacing my morning can of Diet Mt. Dew with a flavored black tea. Shampoo is going to switch to some sort of light dandruff-preventing thing soon (I get dry scalp in the winter), I don't use the head and shoulders kind, but a cheaper & less stinky one...right now I use any anti-frizz stuff I see, I switch brands everytime I buy some. (I've been wanting to try a leave-in conditioner, so if you see a sample sized of that, I'd be happy to see how it works with my hair.) I have a candy jar at work I use everyday, right now it has tootsie rolls and jolly ranchers and smarties in it...I haven't had dum dums in there in a while or starburst, those would be nice. Or something else. (If I put chocolate in it, I just eat it all right away, I have to hide it from myself. ) And I almost always am using a ponytail holder. Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? I would! I like ecotools! They're the brushes I have. I have the little 5 piece set, so anything that's not in that would be awesome. Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? oh fun! I would love a lego keychain so hard! (I may have ran to the video game store right away to get my reserved Pirates of the Carribean lego game so I would get one of the Captain Jack figs) what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? I would horde it until I got my Weenie decants, then see which ones I liked. Or frantically try some of the decants/imps I have in my boxes (plural) of stuff to test. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha! Talk about foiling that question! (I honestly use very teeny amounts of oil, so I would never need a backup bottle of anything, and I've got bottles of all the stuff I tried and really liked so far.) Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? La la la la la la la la! I can't see them! Actually, I don't really keep track or go out of my way to find non-bpalz stuff, but stuff that former witches have given me has been fantastic! Sooo...Cthulhu: yay or nay? Never read any of it. But I like Neil Gaiman's Shoggath's Old Peculiar story. And the little cute Cthulhu's that I see. What are some of your favorite paintings? I dunno! I know I dislike Picasso a lot, and really don't see what people like about his stuff at all. I kinda like the melting watches one by Dali. If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? Nah, I'm more of the crafty sort. Nothing really inspired and all that. More of "that looks pretty, I'll make it!" Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? buy a house? (I am saving for one, sort of.) Meeting my witch or someone else? yes please! I don't know if anyone other than lucyboo is close enough...I owe her and her adorable puppy a visit as soon as she gets some time off! My apartment, her place, someplace neutral...its all good! I can make an absurdly large amount of snacks! also, my first 10 songs on shuffle: 1. "wishing I was there" Natalie Imbruglia 2. "wild rover" The Dubliners 3. "bathwater" No Doubt 4. "opium" Marcy Playground 5. "fingertips (reprise)" they might be giants 6. "run away!" from Spamalot 7. (another Marcy Playground, so I skipped it) "Dysfunktional" Mustard Plug 8. "waiting" Green Day 9. "original prankster" The Offspring 10. (another they might be giants, so I skipped that too, then another TMBG that I skipped, then a green day I skipped) "flesh for fantasy" Billy Idol my shuffle seems to be broken lately, its been playing the same artist (and sometimes even the same album) all in a row. I think its tired. What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: Strange? I don't have anything strange! you're just looking at it wrong! Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? I like lip balm. In the twist up tubes. The pots tend to squick me out a bit. Who told you about the bowl on the bookshelf? Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? (I know I have a wishlist on JetPens and just love using fountain pens in my artwork) I wouldn't really use a fountain pen, I tend to write notes in pretty colored markers. How do you feel about getting art supplies in general? (copic markers, watercolor, brushes, paint, sketchbooks etc.) I don't really use the ones I have enough to make it worthwhile to send me more. They just hang out in the Closet Of Doom. How do you feel about Threadless tshirts? I added one to my wishlist, not sure how much I like most of the designs. (But I would love anything you sent!) If you were turned loose in a basic drug store (CVS, Walgreens - a pharmacy with attached mini-mart, basically!) with a $20 bill, what would you pick up? Some new mascara, some fun chocolate (they usually have some good holiday stuff there), a lip balm and maybe a bottle of pop. Do you prefer color or white photographs? Nature or abstract? yes. though, I do love the black & white nature stuff. And extreme closeups of things. and colors and other stuff! would you be interested in something like this? https://lostcrates.com/how-it-works I wouldn't turn my nose up at it, but I'd probably end up with stuff that I wouldn't use. Amigurumi, yes or no? Sure, they're cute! If you could have an image painted for you - sky is the limit - what would it be? the sky? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Name your 3 favorite scents for candles Foody, vanilla, and fall spices. Name your 3 favorite types/flavors of tea Chai! Spicy! Extra Spicy! Do you wear t-shirts? You know, those socks with a place for each toe? I love toe socks! I have Christmas and Halloweenie ones! I should have some that are non-holiday too! Does anyone like postcards? Is anyone willing to be a Nacho witch for postcards? Yes to both! Witchee, would you like a framed photograph and of what? Sure! Something nice! Are you more prone to order out or cook at home? Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific? Cookbooks! Gimmee! I would like to get some easy Indian recipes, like curries and stuff like that! New question: How do you feel about maple syrup? it is delicious! Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? Original is good, not with the stupid extra added scenes though, they look so out of place. I didn't watch all three of the new ones. Do you like beef jerkey, I know some may be vegatarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. If so do you it really thin, hard and crunchy or thicker and softer. (OK that borders on obscene)- I love beef jerkey! Probably more on the thicker and softer, but hard and crunchy is nice too. (I tend to suck on the hard/crunchy jerky more than chew it. Ha ha ha! talk about bordering on obscene!) Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work. sure! Doctor Who? Yay or nay? (please don't make me cry by saying nay) I tried, just didn't get real excited about it. Anyone love Buffy/Angel? I watched them all, but probably would never go back and watch them all again. How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? They're ok! Nice fresh, soft ones are nice, but not too many of them! Since this is a Halloween round, what's your Creepy threshold? Are you a cartoon bats and smily pumpkins person or a skulls-and-bones the-dead-are-rising kind of person? Are your fairytales dark or Disney? Yes! My creepy threshold is very high. With the exception of creepy children. I don't like them. Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? Yup! Yup! Nope! (All my others are in my ear, but I don't change them ever.) How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? Is it a nommy treat? It is? Then I like it! interested in anything from Lush? I would! do you like chex puppy chow or muddie buddies (ingredients: semi-sweet chocolate chips, PB, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, chex cereal)? would you want to get some from your witch / nacho witch? Things with sugar skull designs? Sure! Who here adores meringue? They're ok! I was thinking about trying to make some one of these days! Anything except wine would be appreciated by either me or Mr. Boy. What are your views on fudge and brownies? (Also, if you live in a warm place, where the fudge might melt, that'd be helpful to know. Or, if you're diabetic and fudge is death, that'd be useful to know, too.) Gimmee! Also, what about mochi? Love it, hate it, baffled by it? Mochi? Is that like Yoshi? I like Yoshi! Anything from the update ya'll are liking? BPTP UPDATE Some of it sounds nice, but nothing jumps out at me as something I really need to try. Most of it had an iffy note in it or didn't sound like it would be amazing, so I'd have to try little bits of it before commiting to a whole something. Does anyone like kimchi? Never heard of it! Would you be interested in a sample box(from somewhere like Birchbox or loosebutton)? I would! In fact, last month I signed up for Birchbox and I got my first one last week! Its super-fun! You have to place a Lab and Trading Post order. Right fuckin' now. No spending limits. What do you buy? everything? Ha ha ha! Do you guys have any sports that you follow obsessively? When you're miserably sick (*sniffle, cough!*) what are the things that comfort you the most? movies, soup, and my pink quilt that my mom made for me when I was in elementary school. I'm not a big Disney fan though. what are your favorite types of Halloween candy? Nom nom nom! Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. yes! I mostly use soap, but sometimes I use shower gel! Similar to scents I like in candles and oils! Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? I haven't learned how to use a dressy scarf thing. A hair scarf for tying around a ponytail would be fun though! This was a question before, but does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? I do! Me! What #1 actor, director, author and/or musician are you obsessed with? Nope! I don't really get obsessed with stuff like that so much. are you interested in anything from the Villainness Bad Apples update? I will have to look! I haven't gone over to check out villainness in a while, since I have a soap problem and very little impulse control. Though, I'll make an exception and put some stuff on my wishlist. If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? My pet likes to eat goldfish....so not really something mailable. Ha ha! What are your top three "I want to try them but I think I'll never get to try them" (or, "I've tried them and I want moar moar moar, but I don't think I'll ever get any") scents/bath oils/sprays? It was Tricksy Bath Oil, I managed to scrounge up two more bottles recently...now I have 5. But, I would be happy to take more! Ha ha ha! It is so awesome on me! (And so far, the only bath oil I really really love.) I'd really like to try a dribble of Ginger Skulls or Miskatonic University. Is there a particular artist and piece that you would like a print of? If so, what is your max size that you could spare on your walls? Nothing in particular, but I could use something to put in the kitchen above the sink! I've been meaning to find a little set of three 5x7s or something for there. (If it helps, I have a fairy flying among leaves colored pencil drawing and a big polar bear picture in the kitchen so far...so there's no theme at all.) If you are in to beauty and makeup related stuff, what kind of stuff do you like? What is your skintone and hair color? Are there any beauty products you've wanted to try but just never purchase? I have pale skin and light brown hair. My eyes are grey. I could use some new mascara and a moisturizing lip balm sort of thing. Do you like coffee or tea? Would you be interested in trying some different types? Yes please! I don't care for the jasmine/floral teas. I like my coffee on the medium/dark side, but I'm not too picky about that. Are there any CDs/Albums you've been wanting but haven't bought yet? What format do you prefer? (i.e. mp3, actual cd, record, etc) I've got some on my kaboodle list. If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? Nope. Makes me think of church and the way they'd use the incense there. Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? I like Harry Potter, but I don't take it to the level a lot of people do. I have the books and the movies, and that's pretty much it. If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? Someplace! Hee hee hee hee! If you could see anything, what would it be? Can be a person, an event, a landmark or monument, an object, etc. And it doesn't have to be on this planet, or in this time period, or in this reality! Ummm...I still haven't seen the Grand Canyon, though the big redwood trees are ahead of that on my list. When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? Candy! Yay! What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? Comics are ok, but I'm not exactly excited about them. I liked the Sandman ones, but the others I've looked at didn't really make me want to go back for more. Are you musical? Do you play an instrument, and if so, what? If not, what do you wish you could play or do? I can play piano, but I haven't in a while, I have a keyboard at home that I should get out again, its fun! Does anyone garden? And if you do, what do you grow? If not, would a starter garden kit be something you'd be interested in? I inside garden! Hee hee! Houseplants are nice! I like the bulb thingies for growing inside, they're usually out more at Christmas than now. Other than that...I'm mostly out of space for plants. Do you decorate for Halloween? Is your decorating taste elegant, kitschy and fun, or scary? yes! I take all the above and mix them together in a horrid display of tackiness! Witchee, do you have any symbols or totems that have special meaning for you? Not really. Is anyone fond of programs like Adopt a Tree/Highway/Library/Manatee/Acre of Rainforest/etc?: Sure! Dream candle? Scent, color, type (tealight, votive, pillar, jar, etc.), throw... Baked goodies, fall scents. Nothing floral or "clean" smelling, or beachy. Pretty much similar to stuff I like in oils. Oh, and pretty much anything vanilla is great! Do you like knitted goodies? If so, what would you like and what colors? Its true! I do! I like colors and I like knitted goodies! I have some squares from the afgan swap that I need some more of to make into an afgan, they're all in acrylic and 12" square. I have some issues with wool, even the nice blended stuff give me hives/welts, though I seem to be doing ok with a part alpaca hat that I have. Would you be interested in homemade edibles that are NOT sweets? Any specifics? Yay! Probably anything except pickled things that aren't dill pickles. Though I could find someone to love them, so I'd take them too! What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? Nope! Great thing about bpal, there's always something awesome and new coming along that I'll love! I'm not that attached to any scent. Yo, yarnies! Do you Ravelry? If so, who are you over thar? I may have started an account once, but I never go there. Its fancy and scary over there! Social Media? Your face is a social media! Do you have wishlists for non-BPAL e-tailers? And if so, could you provide a link or a list? See my kaboodle! I need to add some stuff on there, from Paintbox and stuff. I'll work on it more. Witchee, do you use a PC or a Mac? I'm a PC! What is your favorite animal? Poppets! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Real animal? Umm....things I can eat? What are you going to be for Halloween? Don't know, maybe the same thing I was last year, I had one of those big-long nosed plague Doctor masks and a black hooded cloak thingy. It was a little disturbing, and I scared some of the kids that came to my door. Maybe I'll just wear a witch's hat or bunny ears or something like that. We'll see! I'll panic and decide last minute. If you could have a piece of oil painting jewelry (pendant, pair of earrings, or ring) with absolutely anything painted on it, what would it be? (If you prefer wall art instead, same question as above.) I like the sound of that! Probably a pendant or earrings. Or a wall art! Ha ha ha! I am not helpful! Something you'd like to paint? Seriously, I'm not picky, and anything made for me would be awesome! How do you feel about nick-knacks? Nothing really cutesy. I have a few poppets, some random other things, 3 or 4 animal skulls that my dad and brother found in the woods. A little wooden clown on a spring hanging from my ceiling. A couple of strange little dollies. What traditions (family, holiday, or otherwise) are important to you? I like Christmas! And parties! Yay! And bowls of punch! Snacks and tasty goodies! Do you like going to the movies? I do! Mostly, I go to the Marcus Theaters in Hudson WI. (The movie theater in New Richmond isn't as nice and always has the sound turned up so loud that it actually hurts.) What are your favorite restaurants? I like food! I like it when food magically appears at the door and I give someone money and they give me the food! We get pizza fairly often. There is a Chinese place down the road, and a Mexican Market that has a lunch/dinner counter thingy. All of them are good! Do you play any video games? I own lots of video games! Mostly, I buy them and put them on the shelf or in the cabinet. Once in a while I even try a new one out. A few times, I played them more than once! I have a NES, Super Nintendo, PS2, Wii, and Mr. Boy has a xbox that I can play. oh! I would love to get a plug-into the tv thing that has Centipede on it. (When they first came out, I couldn't get one that had Centipede and Dig-Dug on it, so I just got the one with Dig-Dug and a few other games.) Do you like any anime? I watched Gunslinger Girls, and I liked that. Haven't really watched much of anything else. I guess I'm not really all that into it. Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? Nope! I read actual books, and have nothing all techy. I am a dinosaur! Raaaahhhhh! how much do you like jewelry? like, if you were to get a shit ton of it during the round, how excited would you be? Yes please! Shit tons sound awesome! How would you like to receive some of your Witch's favorite recipes, tailored to your likes/dietary restrictions? And specific wants? Nom nom nom nom nom! I like food! I cook a lot! That sounds fun! Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? Yes! I'm ok on bottle storage for the moment, but I think I'll run out soonish. All my imp space is full, overflowing in fact! Oh, and also, I wouldn't mind getting some empty imps to decant stuff into, if you have a supply! Just so I can share bit of my bottles if I want. Muppets: yea or nay? Sometimes I think I'm a Muppet! Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? Yes! All of the above except for peanuts! I also like Foxtrot and Pickles a lot. I have a few Calvin and Hobbes and Foxtrot books. (I will try to remember to add the ones I don't have to my Kaboodle list! Favorite Mythological Creature?: Fraggles! Yay! No wait, Poppets! ummm...stuff from Labyrinth! Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers Yes, and no! Hee hee! barrettes are good, though I don't wear them much. Flowers sound nice! Headbands all pinch my head in strange places and give me headaches. I normally use the ponytail holders without the metal bits holding together the ends, decorative ones of those would see the most use. (Any of the scrunchie type ponytail holders can't contain my hair, I have a Lot of it.) Is there a quote (or lyric or part of a poem) that really resonates with you or is your favorite? I'm not really tied to it or anything, but I've always like "familiarity breeds contempt". I try to keep things a little changeable, whether its just trying something new for dinner or bringing home the occasional surprise from the store. (no meatloaf on Tuesdays sort of thing for me!) Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? I like the idea of it, but in reality, I won't use it. (I have one bottle of nail polish I bought a few years ago, and I haven't used it once.) From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? bottles: Autumn Cider Expressive Head Then for decants: John Barleycorn 2011 October 2011 Samhainophobia 2011 Golden Apple of the Sun The Changling The Night Hag Visiting the Lapland Witches The Triumph of Death The Gorobble I'm going to try to get into a decant circle (I may get decants of my bottle wishes too, just in case they decide to turn on me). I'll add a note if I do order the decants I want! And I got into a circle, so I should have decants of them all on their way!
  3. Dear Witchy Witch, if my bpal wishlist isn't big enough, poke at me and I'll add more stuff to it. Since the Maple Candy Question has been asked, how do you feel about syrup? My family is hip deep in syrup making right now, if you were my witch would you like some? Gimeeeeeeeee! I love Maple Syrup and Maple Candy! And I haven't had any in a while. When my grandpa was alive and we lived in the same town, I'd help him with making syrup some. It was fun! And tasty! Once in a while I'll buy a little jar of it, but not very often. I'd never put some in a shot glass and drink it either. Nope. never-ever. Ha ha ha ha! Do people like Roller Derby? If so, would you want anything from that sport? Like memorabilia or anything? I've been to a bout, but I'm not big into the collecting thing. If there was something postcardish sized, that would be cool as wall art. Anything bigger and I'd have problems finding a place for it. (Bigger as in poster size. Sheet of paper sized would be ok though.) Journals? Sure. I take a long time to use them up, so I don't need tons. I write down my crocheting rounds/rows in them to keep track. Clowns - boooo or yay (love em or hate em?)? I may have a slightly little clown man hanging from a spring on from my ceiling. He may have an eyebolt through the top of his that is attached to the spring. I thought he was cute, so did my mom....everyone else seems to think he's creepy. So, now he's my creepy clown man. You can pull him down, and then he bounces for a long time. Yay! I'm trying to decide if I want to buy one clown scent, or two, or get decants of all. I'm not quite sure about the absinthe or hemlock. I generally don't do well with grass and dirt-if its the coconutty dirt, and I haven't found a leather I like yet, so that one is really iffy. Would you be squicked if I made you something with a kiss print that was made with my actual lips? (The ones on my face!) I solemnly swear I don't have mono, Ebola, or any sort of French disease. Bubonic plague is still on the table. If its something to eat, I'd think about for a minute, then eat it anyway (I'm greedy that way). Anything else would be good. What is the coolest thing you have recently bought or been given that wouldn't exceed the price cap? I'm going to show off my total dorkiness. Yay! A Magic Eraser! Runner-up is the stainless steel scrubby thingy that gets stuff off of my pots and pans without being all steel-wooly. They're both fabulous! I love them lots and lots! Actually the Magic Eraser may be second place, its a really close call. So Witchees, do you enjoy pre-1970 movies? If so, who are your favorite actors/actresses? Oh man! I couldn't tell you how many of them I've watched and loved! I was probably one of a few little kids who was mostly excited about cable for the AMC channel (when it only showed old movies). It was awesome that I wouldn't have to wait for the inter-library loan anymore. Katherine Hepburn. She's fabulous! I adore her, she didn't take crap from anyone! She was fierce! Doris Day! (Calamity Jane was my all-time favorite for YEARS!) Fred Astaire! Ginger Rogers! Bing Crosby! I love the singing and dancing, the madcap mistaken identities! Murder Mysteries! (I don't know the names of any off the top of my head.) You know what's fabulous?! So many of these are available Netflix streaming now. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! I want to go home and watch some right now! Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...) Probably a soapy sort of thing. I'm not big on lotions and I'm not sure how I'd like this scent as a perfume. Soap or smack or Smooch, its sounds awesome for those! (I wouldn't turn my nose up at anything though.) If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? Yes please! I adore the Unearthed, and love coffee smells, and vanilla, and bonfire, and chocolate, and marshmallow. Ok, so rather than keeping typing...I want all the scents. You can pick out any combination that sounds nice to you and I will love it. Smacks are super! Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors? Of course! All of them sound awesome! I probably wouldn't use a shawl as much as the other options. I don't care for white as a color, it gets too dirty too fast. I like colors! All colors! Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? MMMMM.....I LOVE CANDY! With the exception of the gooey cadbury creme eggs, I love it all! (The cadbury mini eggs that are solid chocolate are fabulous!) Pretty much, any egg shaped candy is good. Chocolate is my friend! Its good for me! Fiddle dee dee! I like other candy too. And snack mixes! I am a piggy! Nom nom nom! What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? None really. I haven't gotten through a big bottle of anything yet, and there are so many things to love that I'm fairly certain som+ething new will come along that will be fabulous. Wine? I can't. It makes my head ache very much. Cider is ok though. And beer. 3 things I crave right now: One night of sleep, the kind where I don't wake up, or have to struggle to fall asleep, 6 whole hours would be great! Spaghetti! Popcorn! How do you feel about nail polish? What colors do you like? Sparkles? I like the idea of nail polish, but I lack the follow-through. Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these? I tend to watch geeky shows, but not get all crazy about them. And its mostly on Netflix, I'm too lazy to remember when they are on. I really like Firefly and Serenity. I saw all of Dead Like Me. I'm watching Eureka, X-files, and Dr. Who on Netflix right now. There's more in my queue. I like the Sandman graphic novels, but I have most of them now. I'd like to see the Serenity/Firfly comics. I don't play D&D or anythign like that anymore...I did a little bit when I was smaller, my brother would let me play. I like to play my video games. I still have a working Nintendo! yay! I was going to look and see if the Wii had a downloadable version of Centipede. From the Atari, cause that was awesome! I work with lasers. Mostly I work with a computer, and I write the code that tells the laser systems where to go! ha ha ha ha ha! But I used to be a tech on the floor running jobs and cutting stuff. Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? e.g. velvet, satin, silk, cotton, bamboo??? Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/somethingelse Wool stuffs make me itchy. If its a super-soft, it would probably be ok. I don't care for polyester much. If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? Yay! We could clean out all the goodies from the pantry by eating them! You could babysit Mr. Boy! And take the fishies for a walk! Ha ha ha! I would love something personally delivered! It would be so fun to get some coffee or some snacky thing! People can come over here! I would probably need a little note to stay home that day or something. You could be sneaky and say something like I had to sign for a package. (now I will suspect that a package will mean a visitor!) Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? Silly witch! Of course I want a matching something! paper goods, anyone need? I'm almost out of cute little notecards. What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) I don't think I'd die for it, and I haven't really been looking...but I'd like to try the Ginger Skulls from Halloween. I want to try the new Spanked, but lucyboo has some and I can try it when we have a meet 'n sniff. Pretty much anything on my wishlist would be nice to have a dribblet of. Ha ha! I didn't help! Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? Haven't looked or tried anything from there. If there's something you'd think I'd like, I probably would! yay! What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? Yes please! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Anything would be lovely! I'm not really attached to any art thing, or style or colors. I'm no help at all! Yippeee! Do you like pirate-related things? Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I would love to have a pirate something! I'm going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks, is there anything I can get you? Do they sell pick-axes there? I could use one! Crunchy Steve really sucks, I want to hit him with one. No...that's not true...I don't want to go to jail. I just hope he chokes on his food. Ummm....I'm not a huge Disney lover, but if you find something that looks nice for me, then yes! Copied CD's or DVD's? If its a mixed cd, absolutely! Full-album cds, not so much, unless its something that is really hard to find. I prefer the artists to get some money for their work, but I don't outrightly ban copied stuff. Would you like caffeinated lollipops? sure! Ha ha ha ha! I'm easy! Probably not a lot of them though, just a bit to try. Soaps? Be specific: I LOVE soaps! Villainess, Paintbox, Savor, everywhere! I like scrubbies too! I like spicy scents (I'm spicy!), patchouli, citrusy stuff, if there are florals involved they have to be on the light side. Anything like candy or food is good. Sock Dreams? What kind? Sure! I haven't tried anything of theirs. It would have to be something that is big though, I'm festively plump. I saw MeiLin mentioning that she found stuff that fits her nice, so you could probably find out from her what is good, we're the same size! Yay! (well, I don't know if our feet are the same size, but we're both 22!) Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only I haven't heard of any sites that are invite-only. Does that mean I'm so uncool that I don't even know about the cool stuff? Wahhhhhhhh! I'm cool! I'm the best! Are there any fancy/gourmet/special herbs or spices that you'd love to receive? Sure! I cook quite a bit, so I would use them! Yay! I don't know what variety I would want though. We eat quite a bit of fish, so stuff that's good on fish. Or good on sometime. Bonus points if its something you like and can tell me how to use it, or what it goes good on! I tend to dump some stuff on my food, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I eat it either way! Ha ha ha! DVDs, Blu-Ray, both, neither? DVDs and VHS all the way! Wheeee! I'm a bargain at garage sales! Piercings? I have an industrial in one ear, 3 helix in the other-I think 16 gauge, but I'm not sure. (I never change the industrial or my hoops.) Then I have the regular earlobe ones too. Those I change lots. Yay! Do you have any blogs you regularly read? Yup! Cakewrecks, and some other ones! The world has given you the day off. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? Eat cheese! And candy! Then roll around on the floor saying "uggggh! I'm so full! I don't feel good!" ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Then I'd take a nap. And watch tv. wow...this sounds like every weekend for me! Do you enjoy gardening? If so, what kind of stuff do you grow? Vegetables, flowers? I don't have a yard to dig in, and the growing season is so short here that I don't grow much. Usually some tomatoes and a couple of boxes of flowers. I have lots of inside plants though. Mostly stuff that doesn't need a ton of care. I always wanted to try a little herb garden inside. Favorite artists or specific paintings? I like art! I do not like Picasso. Steampunk inspired items? Yay or nay? Sure! I'm one of the people who think that steampunk is made by adding a gear to something. ha ha ha ha ha ha! I don't have any steampunk stuff, but it sounds nice! Do you like those little crocheted dolls? You know the ones! They have a Japanese name! GAH! If so, who needs to be emulated as one? Sure. I don't have any, but they are cute! Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? Poppets will win! They will stand by and watch the mayhem. Then they will say "silly pirates", or "silly ninjas" or "silly zombies". (Ninjas would beat pirates. Not sure if Zombies could take out the ninjas. depends on if they are the fast zombies or the slow ones.) Astrological charts and interpretation/ reports? I'm not hugely into them, but I would read them if anyone wanted to make me one! It would be interesting! Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. I always have a hair thing, either in or in my pocket. Mostly just the elastics. Headbands tend to be too tight for me, I have a big head. Scrunchies are good, so are clippy things. I used to have a flower on a clippy thing, I really liked it, but it broke. I like the hair chopsticks too. Either lowkey or big and crazy is good for me! I'll wear both. Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) I like chocolate! Yay! Probably not much on the floral, but I've never had it. I love chocolate with chili powder or cayenne in it. Its spicy! I tend to be a little more in favor of the dark chocolates, but a well made milk is good too. I'm not all that into white, but Mr. Boy loves it, so pretty much anything you'd send would be appreciated. For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? Yes please! I love tinted balms and lipgloss! Shimmer is good. Sheer is fun! Opaque is nice! If it helps any, I'm quite pale with pinkish undertones to my skin. What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? Fraggles! Or Poppets! Or do you mean a real animal? Hee hee hee! If you were able to get a vintage or prototype bottle from the upcoming West Coast Will Call, which one would you want? Wheeeee! Something! A prototype would be fun, as long as it wasn't all inscense or floral. (I'm not really into aquatics and super-sweet either.) I haven't looked at the protoypes much, since I figure I won't get to try them. A vintage bottle would be nice too! A surprise! Ha ha! Sorry I'm not more helpful. Hey, how do folks feel about little e-goodies, like links to stuff your witchee likes? (articles online, pix, fic, etc) Yes, if my witch would like to! I sit at the computer all day at work. Tim Tams? Yes or no? Chocolate Creme, Caramel, or Dark Chocolate? I have not had Tim Tams. So yes! Ha ha ha! Is there any "classic" literature (Hemingway, Dickens, Elliot, Bronte, Hugo, Wilde, etc.) that you would like to add to your collection? I can't think of any. I used to get lots of books from the discount classics sections at bookstores. So how does everyone feel about receiving ebooks? I'd prefer a regular book. Since I'm on the computer at work, I rarely start it up at home, and I don't have an ereader thingy. candles and/or aroma melts: yay or nay? Candles! Yum! I tend to like scents similar to ones I like in oils. With the added, Vanilla anything is super! My random songs: Are not so random. I have Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on my ipod right now. (I love how Jim Dale reads them, I wish he did more audio books, I'd get them all if he was reading!) ha ha! LJ Friending list: I only use LJ to order decants I can't get on the forums. And I avoid all those social networking sites. I have a blogger account, only to easily read blogs I like. I haven't posted on it in years. (I'm a dinosaur! Raaaaah!) If you were to make an order RIGHT NOW (Not that any of you will make any bpal orders until SW is over, because you do NOT want to mess up any plans your witch might have!) What would you order (from lab, forum, DD, TradingPost, etc) The only thing I can think of would be some Snake Oil. Oh, and I would like to get a bit of Enraged Groundhog Musk, but I don't need a whole bottle, a partial would be nice, or a decant. If something else comes up, I'll add it to my wishlist. I've got piles of imps and decants to test yet. (And since I have so many things to test, I won't be buying anything more for a while.) Speaking of testing....I'll try hard to update my "things I've tried" listy. What level of nudity are you fine with on items? I'm good with nekkidness. No one here will be offended! I know the ?aire asked about gently used books and if you like garage sales, but would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale? Gently used and in nice condition stuff is great! And a bargain! You should give me some! (If you want) Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? I love seasonings! Stuff for on popcorn is good. Stuff for on meats is good! Stuff for me to eat is good! Do you like any particular kinds of green or back teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? I don't drink enough coffee to get a bulk amount. Mostly Mr. Boy and I'll get one of those little fancy flavored packs that'll make two pot fulls of the little coffee pot (I have the little Mr. Coffee), and we'll maybe make one pot over a weekend. We don't have a grinder, so it'll have to be pre-ground. I tend to like flavor green/black teas, not the plain (I don't like jasmine though-its icky). So if you could find them or a herbal, that'd be nice. I can take both tea bags and looseleaf. Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) I like snacks!!!! Wasabi peas are a favorite of mine. But honestly, any snack is awesome. Bulk sections are fabulous! Baked goods? Gimmmmmmeeeeee! Any sort of food stuff is good for me! (I don't care for anise/licorice stuff, or olives.)

    Monster Bait: Ventriloquist Dummy

This is one of my beloved patchouli scents, patchouli and I are great friends! I get a fantastic woody patchouli scent, that has a thin layer of candy over the top. I tend to amp sweet scents, but this one stays where it should be, a hint of sweetness-not too overpowering.
  5. arlith

    Slaugh

At application, its all "Hello Rootbeer!" Then it starts to dry and other notes come out to play. I don't know what champaca or tonka bean smell like, but I assume its them. I'm not able to pick out any of the tea scent. It ends up being slightly sweet, and herbalish without being all medicinal. Almost like some sort of old-fashioned candy or cough drop, not foody at all. Its quite nice and very unique.

    Candy Corn Coated Candy Apple

I was hoping for something similar to Creepy. I was out of luck. First, there's a nice fresh tart apple. About 5 minutes later, its all sugary-sweet with no apple in sniffing range. 5 more minutes and its completely gone. I quite enjoyed the tart apple phase, the sweet phase was a bit too much sugar for me. As a teenager-I would have adored it if it wouldn't get eaten by my skin, on adult me-its just too sugary. Off to the swap pile it goes.

    Sw Help! Yay!

Here's my Kaboodle wishlist. Did you know BPAL is on etsy with leftover trunk show bottles? Would you like any of them? I looked at them, but there aren't any there saying "TRY ME NOW!" on them. I wouldn't mind getting a tester or decant of any of them, but probably not a bottle-since I'm such a warper. Do you prefer lip balm in a tube or tin? I like the tube better, but I'll use stuff in a tin too. What are you most interested in from the Yule update? I ordered a bottle of Gingerbread Poppet, and I have a pile of decants on order too! Yay! If you were my witchee, would you want to receive Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, or wouldn't that be your cup of classics? Probably not really my first choice, I have a feeling it would sit on my bookshelf for a long time before I cracked it open. Would you like some homemade snack mix? I would! Knitterly Witchees, would you like a yarn bowl? Yarn bowl? What's that? Do I have to eat the yarn out of it? Is yarn good with milk? (I've never tried one, I don't know if I would like one or not.) So....let's say that you're my witchee, and you have an affinity for widgets. Let's also pretend that I sent you one of these widgets, but in a form that has a very special personal significance to me. Would you find that to be touching (in a "Yay, now I'll always use this and think of my witch!" way) or tacky (in a "My witch is making this all about her!" way)? Silly witch! widgets are for me! Seriously, love to anything that's given to me! Pocket shrines! Would you like one, made for a particular obsession of yours? Sure. I'd love anything my witch gave to me! Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? Yay! It would be, loved, hugged and kissed and named George! Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Sure! I'm pretty good on mugs/shot glasses (I wouldn't turn one down though). T-shirt or magnet would be my top choice. Or a truely hideous post card. Ha ha ha ha! Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? ? Venomous Villains? Poisonous and a villain? Double-threat! Last Unicorn? I have the book! Its super-fun! Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) I always was fond of Maleficent, she's so delightful. It was sad for me seeing her defeated (it was more upsetting to me when I was small than when Bambi's mom died). Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? I like stones/rocks. Semiprecious natural stuff are my favorites! What's your favorite Halloween Music? I like music! Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? Deviantart? Is that something to eat? Hee hee hee! What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I have a hard time finding shoes that fit me. I have monster feet, and they're wide. So I'd have to try them on to see if they'd fit. Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? Yay! Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? Sure! Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? I've never used an atmospheric spray, to be honest they scare me a little. If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? A box for oils? That would be nice! Or a small painting for in my kitchen-its very boring above the sink. As long as it was cheerful/bright colors I'd absolutely love it. If it isn't bright colors or cheerful, I'd still love it to bits and pieces! Yay! Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? Gimme! It sounds nice! If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. Someone gave me a tea kettle shaped like a giraffe. It was on my wishlist, but I never thought I'd actually get it! (By the way Witch, I Really Really love my new froggy hot pad thingy!) Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? I had a bad garlic experience once, and I've been a bit sensitive to it ever since. In fact, its just in the last couple of months that I've been able to eat garlic bread. Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? Braiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins! How many bottles of BPAL do you have? I think I've got almost 15 now. Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I'm planning on signing up for a Yoga class (I have to see if I still can or if I have to wait until next time). I'd like to try bellydancing. Zumba looks fun too. Anyone else into Emily Autumn? Who? do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind?Sure! They are tasty! I like tasty cookies! What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some? Nom nom nom! Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I like soap! I'm just starting to use "fancy" soaps. So far I have tried Tarty's stuff, I've got some Villainess now too to test! (Thanks to my wonderful Witch!) I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I don't do much drawring, or pen for artsy things-I'm too inclined towards lots of mistakes. For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I believe I have every crochet hook size. Though, I've never tried a wood hook, so if my witch wants to get me one to test that would be nice. I usually use G or H size. I usually use a small piece of yarn to mark my stitches-I don't make a whole lot that needs marking-other than socks. Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? I don't alter books, but if my witch does, I'd love it! Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I'm more of a candle person. For some reason most incense makes either my eyes or throat burn a little. Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I generally do ponytails-with the ouchless bands. I can use chopsticks too though! So, yes! Hair things are good! Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Nope. Bring on the sharp naughty objects! In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? Yes please! How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories?I like re-using things! What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items? Honestly, I don't really need to learn a new craft. I have a giant Closet 'O Doom that is filled to the brim with stuffs. (Its not giant huge, but its big enough to be full of tons of stuff.) Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? See my answer to the Posset's question. Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? None of them sound completely perfect to me, so I'm not lusting after them. But if a dribblet of one would happen to fall into my hands, I'd enjoy sniffing. Anyone need address/phone type books? Got one. Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? CD- Clutch, I believe its called Basin Street Blues or something like that. Actually anything by them would be fun, I only have their Transnational Speedway album. Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? I haven't tried any Possets' yet. But based off my wonderful witch's judgement with the villainess ginger stuff....I'd adore anything that was sent to me. Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) Sure, but it would need to be with the understanding that the toy would be played with. By me, and any kiddos that wanted to play with it. (I have a little niece that visits a couple times a year, I'd let her play with the pretty toy.) Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? I don't believe I've tried any of them. If I have, I don't remember. Anne Taintor, anyone? I don't know who that is and I'm a little scared to look. If I don't see it, I won't know I love it madly and need to have it all...right? If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? Yup! Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? I'm not really a shawl sort of person. If I got one, I'd use it...but I'd feel a little like it was a costume. How do you feel about recipes? Sure! I like making new things. Its fun! What kind of a cook/baker are you? I'm not all that fancy of a cook/baker. But what I do make is nummy. I can make fancy stuff, I just don't very often. Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I like delivery on occasion, I do cook, but nothing really fancy. Mostly stuff that's quick. If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? Sure! I like to cook. How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? I like them! So much, that I've been meaning to make some for myself. They don't make a huge amount of cookies, or take long to bake. They're perfect! if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? Green? Black? Herbal (I know, technically those are NOT teas, but tisanes)? Flavored blacks/greens? I'm not a fan of jasmine teas, or licorice ones. Other than that, anything goes! How do people feel about word magnets I haven't played with them since college. I would quite enjoy it! Mr. Boy would have fun with it too! How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. YAY! What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? My inquisition order is waiting for me at the post office, I'm picking it up Monday. Wheee! I did both, attempted a plea for naughty-Slaugh. Then added on some other stuff. I don't remember what all I got. How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? Not big on lots of knick-knacks. Magnets are a win, stickers and the like are good, cause I can use them. Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? I rather liked Gunslinger Girls, I think I've watched all the ones out on tape. Oh...I would like to see some of the Firefly comics! Cause what/who is Shepard Book!?!?!?!?!?! Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? Gimme! If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? That's why a lot of it is on there! OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? Generally, crew length. I'm quite round, so knee high/thigh high don't always fit around. For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? Both are fabulous. I drink bagged at work, and loose leaf at home. If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? 10 scarves is 10 too few! Ha ha ha! It gets cold here. Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? I don't like it when they edit stuff out. Studio is better to me, though a really well-done live one can be good too. What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) I'd really like to try any of the starred ones on my wishlist. Probably Miss Lupescu the most right now. It sounds like such a great fall scent. Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that The occasional funny picture/video or little game link would be ok. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) I honestly have no idea! NaNoWriMo? I've signed up the last couple of years. Then worked on it for a few days, then quit. I like the idea, but fall is always my busier time. Middle of summer would probably be a better month for me. Do you like maple sugar candy? Yum! Its so good! What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? *shudders* Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? Black pepper (I use more than probably anyone I know-I purposely bought a grinder with a hand-crank so my wrist wouldn't hurt grinding the pepper), cayenne, and Italian seasoning. Microsoft or Apple? Apples are for eating. Actually, I think they're cute and look like a pretty toy. I don't have one though..and probably won't get one. Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? Cabin with my parents on a lake. It was super-relaxing. We didn't have to do anything we didn't want to. Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? That would be fun! Would you like a tea cozy? I like to leave my tea out on the counter until its room temp or just lukewarm. I'm strange like that. (I also prefer not cold pop, and tend to leave beer sitting around so it isn't ice cold.) I rarely drink cold or hot stuff. (Hot chocolate should be warm though, and milk Needs to be cold.) Are you allergic to any food things?? I like food! Do you hate any food things with a passion?? Licorice, in all forms including Twizzler. Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? I'd rather kill a tree. Favorite Yankee Candles? Or other brands scents? (I make my own candles too, but sometimes have money to spend on others) I like candles! I like fall scents the best. I don't like the clean/linen sorts of scents. Or fake smelling fruit. Would you like a zuni animal fetish? And if so, what animal? Ok! I'd really just use them as something pretty to stick on my bookshelf, so animal doesn't exactly matter. And how does everyone feel about glow in the dark radishes? They're really cute. I would wear them. Cake Truffles, interested? and if YES! Cake/icing/chocolate preferences I like cake! And I like frosting! My question for you, are you interested in mini bottles(under 100ml for hand luggage) of bath and body products? I love sample sized stuff! How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? I'm renting an apartment, so no outside ground space. Drawings and pressed flowers would rock. Especially smallish drawings/pressed flowers stuck onto paper. I could use some more art for in the kitchen, and that would be cute in there. If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? Ha ha ha ha ha! 1. Original NES (I'm pretty good on games for this-though I would like a copy of Double Dragon) 2. Sega Genesis 3. SuperNintendo 4. Playstation 2 (I'd like the rest of the Harry Potter games, I only have Goblet of Fire-they're pretty cheap used at Gamestop) 5. XBox (I don't play much on here, only MiniNinjas-so much stuff for this system is just too hard for me.) If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? 1. TKO 2. Pickled Imp 3. Shub Niggurath Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? I LIKE TREATS!!!! Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? Nope. I was a baaaad girl! Ha ha ha! I ordered a bunch of decants, then quite a pile of inquisition stuff. (Though I would like to try a drop of Ginger Skull-I didn't order any of that.) If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) Sure! Beads, paper, and yarn would be all good. Find your iPod (or other MP3 device), put it on shuffle/random. What are the first five songs to come up? 1. Autumn in New York (Louis Armstrong/Ella Fitzgerald) 2.Blake Says (Amanda Palmer) 3. Kiss Me Idle (The Verve Pipe) 4. Mony Mony (Billy Idol) 5. Poker Face (Lady Gaga) (Ha! I'm rather glad it didn't come up with a pile of Chrismas music or somewhat embarassing choices. Actually, I wouldn't really be embarassed. I have no shame.) Another question: Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Yay! I would love them! I'm not sure what I'd do with a linen spray, I'm not big on spraying my stuff. If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? GIMMMEEEE! Mistakes make the item charming! Soundtracks you'd like? I'd kinda like the soundtrack from The Water Boy (yes, the awesomely fantastic Adam Sandler movie-one of my very favorite movies.) If you could see one concert right now, who would it be? Generally speaking, I'm too cheap to go to an actual concert. They cost waaaay too much. I do like to go to the occasional pub-sort of place that has music. I like the more intimate setting, and that most of the time, its free. Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? Mr. Boy is an almost rabid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. I like hockey (Red Wings and MN Wild), but I don't watch all the games or anything like that. For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy? I like to decorate! I'm not an elegant person. (You probably guess that already.) But I would be ok with elegant items-as long as the giver won't be offended if I match it up with something silly. Do you like journals/notebooks/sketchbooks? I have a couple going all the time. My favorites are ones I can tear pages out of. (Though, I can make any book page tearable.) I generally use them for things like keeping track of which row I'm on when I'm crocheting. Writing down present ideas for people, and making big lists of stuff I have to do. How do you feel about stationery, like nice pens or notepaper? And if you're in favor, do you prefer classic/contemporary or cutesy stuff? Sure! I like stuff! Would you like homemade preserves (e.g. marinated vegies, pickled onions, chilli jam?). Nom, nom, nom! But, the only picked thing I like are dill pickles. Who is your favorite soap etailer? I like soap! So far, I've just tried Soapbox Painworks soap. I'd like to try some other stuff to. Some is in my wishlist, but I'm not picky at all. What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? I like make-up samples! I don't use it enough to really warrant having something big. What about vintage decoration items, teacups, etc etc? Sure! If it was something like a teacups, I'd probably use it, not just display it though...so nothing that's worth a whole lot. (My favorite little cups I have, are ugly little brown ceramic juice cups my mom got for her wedding. They're of the cute-ugly varity.) Would you like something you have to make yourself? For example, a kit to knit your own soft toy, or a card making kit, or baking kit, etc. And is there anything in particular you'd like to learn? Sure! I do not like to knit (I tried once, and decided to stick with crochet). But anything else is good. With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I like Packages! I like lots of packages! And I like one Package! Yayayayayay! Whatever my witch wants to give me is perfect! If you've got stuff on your BPAL wishlist, would partial bottles be okay? Sure is! My wishlist is pretty clear on that. Yay! Say you were my witchee, and I found things on your wishlist that I could totally make. Would you want me to make it? Or would you rather it be purchased for you? Some of the stuff on my wishlist is there just to give ideas for a crafty witch! Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with? To be honest-most famous people aren't people I'd be remotely interested in personally. I like to look at some, but I just wouldn't want to deal with the ego and crap that would come with them. Steampunk: While I don't do the whole dress-up thing or read/watch any Steampunky stuff...I do like the jewelry with the watch bits. Daemon: I took the quizzy quiz! Ha ha ha! I'm a Gruff Soul. Grrrr....ruff, ruff! Suggested form: Hyena, Coati, Maned Wolf, Raven, Dingo. Lookout! I'm gonna eat your babies! Ha ha ha ha ha ha! (The quiz is funny!) If you could be any person, being, or animal from Fantasy what or who would you be? *points to avatar* If you could go back to any point in time, where, when, why? I like cheese! Do you need a box for your bpal bottles? Your imps? Your something else to put in a box stuff? Gimme! I have boxes, but I'll always find a use for more boxes. In fact, I ran out of space in my boxes and started working on a new box. I should have extra boxes. Or even pretty tins for carrying imps! Yay! Name a couple of sites you frequent other than this one? Ha ha ha! I check my email! Sometimes I read Perez Hilton for juicy gossip about people I don't know! It makes me feel all superior to the "celebrities". If you could have any creature (real or imaginary) as a pet, what would it be? I'm copying someone else's answer, because its absolutely perfect...I want a Fizgig! Would you be interested in an astrology birth chart? Sure! I don't know if I know the right stuff for it though. (I have no idea what time I was born.) What movie scared the bejeezus out of you as a child? What didn't! Ha ha ha ha! I don't really remember being scared of movies. But I did run and hide from the nature shows. When something was stalking something else...then the music would pick up. I'd run into the kitchen and peek around the corner. I was completely convinced that the stalking animal would manage to jump out of the tv and attack us. I figured if I was around the corner, it couldn't get me. Favorite Muppet: Woooohooooo! I like Muppets! When I was small I adored Miss Piggy, except when she started karate chopping everything. Then I liked Beaker and Swedish Chef best. Gonzo's nose makes me giggle every time. (In my mom's exact words..."It looks like a 'thingy'".) Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Now I just love them all. What is something you use to comfort yourself when feeling yucky, depressed, or in pain? Bath, warm blankie, and a book I've read lots of times. (I have two bookshelves full of them.) Favorite Halloween/Scary movies? Yay! I like Hocus Pocus too! (And I've never pretended to ride my vacuum. Nope. Not once!) I usually watch all the Resident Evils too (they're also watched at Christmas for some reason). And Nightmare Before Christmas (also a Christmas movie). And Ghost Ship, and It. I really like What Lies Beneath also! In general, I don't like the gorey torture movies. (I say in general because I've never watched one and have no intention of ever watching one.) If its a Halloween tv special (even a Halloween episode of a tv show), I love it! I really haven't seen many of the movies listed horror though. Oh! And I love Shaun of the Dead! I can't think of what else right now. Ha ha ha ha! Oh, I call The Glass House a Halloween movie too. Cause its creeeeepy! Favorite Halloween/Scary books? I like to read. Sometimes I read magazines. Sometimes its books. Sometimes its the back of a cereal box. I like Count Chocula. Warm Drinks: GIMMEEE! I generally don't make much coffee at home, but hot chocolate and tea and hot apple cider are my friends. When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? I'm not picky. I like stuff! It doesn't even have be to very similar! Do you wear make up? Very rarely. I like the idea of it, and I really like looking at my basket thingy full of it...but normally I just have some lip balm on. Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them? Meh. I rather like some of the older ones. Not a big fan of the newer stuff. I do like the Toy Story movies, and don't have copies of them-so that would be something I'd enjoy. Do you have A VCR, DVD Player or Blue Ray or a combo of the three? VCR and DVD player, I also have a Divx player downloaded to my computer. Would you like custom icons as a gift? I'm not sure if I'd use them, so probably not. What is your favourite snack food, something you could grab any time? Candy! (With the exception of Twizzers or licorice of any sort-they're nasty!) M&Ms are evil! (I rarely buy them, because I gobble them all up.) I like fancy chocolate bars too. And jerky/meat snacks. And chip-type things. I like snacks. And cheese. I like cheese too. And cookies. And bread. I like snacks! Yay! (And I wonder why I'm festively plump.....oh wait...I don't wonder!) Ebooks No...I work on a computer all day, and by the time I'm done with work for the day my eyes are sore and tired. Looking at a screen more is just too much. I like books though! Nail Polish: I like it, but never wear it. Ha! I like the idea of it. I think I have one bottle of nail polish...and I've never used it. Soft/plushy things: Yes please, smallish ones would be best. I like to put little things on my bookshelves, and I've got room for quite a few more. What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? Stuff with glass. Stained glass. Lampworked beads, glass blowing. I don't want to learn now though. I don't really have time for it...its more of something to do when I retire. For those who decorate for Halloween, do you prefer cute decorations or creepy ones?: I like Halloween! A lot! All decorations are fabulous. Also, as part of the cute-or-creepy question, would you want hand made, molded, glazed (by yours truly!) ceramic decorations (napkin rings, potporri/tart warmers, etc) to add to your stock? Hell yeah! That sounds awesome! how do you feel about mortars and pestles I would like one actually...it would save my fingers when I'm trying to crush up dried herbs. Is there anything you have a phobia of, or that would make you go "squick" if you saw it in a package? Not really. Are you into Austen's books? No. I've made through Emma, but I had to watch the movie first before I could really understand what was going on. I don't think I'll read any other of her books. Just not my thing. Do you read Tarot cards? If not, would you be interested? The pictures are pretty, and I like the idea of playing with them. But I doubt I would. Pretty sure they'd just end up in the Closet of Doom. So for those of you who are into Harry Potter at all, which house do you think you'd be sorted into? I could see me fitting into any of the houses really. Though Griffendor would probably be least likely one for me to be sorted into. What, if anything, is your guilty TV watching pleasure? I'm not ashamed! If you cosplay or need a costume for your bellydance/burlesque hobby (or any other hobby which needs dressup/different from your normal wear), is there anything you need/want for it? Nope. Celebrity crush? Does the piggy in the Geico commerical count? He's super-fun! (I don't really crush on people like I used to.) Knitted things? Yes please. I do have some issues with wool-unless its the super soft kind that's mixed with other stuff and isn't completely wool. What about [mixed or otherwise] DVDs? Ok! DVDs: Do you prefer widescreen or formatted? Given a choice, I'll grab a widescreen. But I'm not picky enough to keep me from buying or enjoying a formatted one. Music: Any preference towards MP3 or CD? I do prefer a CD, I can use an MP3, but I like having something I can hold in my hand. It makes it more real to me. Do you like scented tarts? I probably wouldn't really use them. I like candles though. I tend to burn votive sized ones the most. And now that fall is coming...I'll be burning them more. I really like the fall scented ones. They're yum! Lip balms? Yay! I have quite a few, but I'm be happy to have some more. Especially since My Boy uses them lots. (He'd be thrilled to get one in my package-or if its a flavor I don't love-I'll give it to him.) Do you have any body mods? If so, do you need any new jewelry, o-rings, plugs, etc (and if so, what size, length, etc)? Do you like pro-body mod stickers? I have an industrial in one ear-3 hoop thingies in the other, and a lobe piercing in each ear. I don't change earrings in anything other than the lobes. I don't really have anywhere to put stickers. (Well, not anywhere where I would put stickers.) Booze. Do you drink it, would you like some Yum! I'm really fond of microbrews. I tend to like ones that are on the darker side. Not a big fan of the lighter colored beers. What is your favorite artist or art style? (including if you have links to favorite pictures/paintings/photographs) I like pretty things! Yay! Ha ha ha! Let's see...on my walls at home: 4 little old-fashioned looking prints of hot air balloons-all in the sort of sepia tones, a brightly colored fairy my friend drew, a dragon I drew, a glow in the dark puzzle, a Mexican folk art cross, a big lithograph picture of grey jays, a 3-d puzzle of fishies. (the puzzles aren't glued-just in frames) Mostly stuff that just happened to catch my fancy. Hallowe'en plans? I have an annual pumpkin-carving party. This year its going to be on Saturday! Yay! Its lots of fun! Girlyness level? I like the idea of being girly-with makeup and cute clothes. The reality is that I have some makeup-that I rarely wear. I generally dress like a slob...I have a few "nicer" things to wear, but I don't wear them on a regular basis. I like baked goods! No problem with them in my house. (I don't know if my boyfriend would eat something someone he didn't made, but I know he would eat some after I did.) As far as a gifty for him, he would probably like that-but its totally not necessary. He does like to see what I put in a witchee's box, and is always happy to see prizes I get in the mail. Snack food would be a good thing for him-or a manly soap sample. And if my witch happens to be from Iowa, anything Hawkeyes would be a big hit. (He got really excited about an Hawkeyes energy drink one of the times we went to Iowa, and has it on display in his "game" room.) He'd probably be confused if he got a little gift too. Are you someone who'd rather have lots of small testers of different things on your wishlist, or would you rather have one or two "big" things? Its all good to me!

    Luna

This smells juicy and green and fruity to me. Quite nice, and something I would have adored as a teenager. Then it dries and fades. It continues to fade until 2 hours later when there's pretty much nothing left to it. Sticking my wrist to my nose and huffing, I can get a very faint hint of it. End result, its not for me. With the tweeniness of it and lack of staying power, I'll most likely pass it along.

    Boomslang

When I first put this on, I get the lovely spicy chocolate that most of the people are talking about. Then it turns into just Snake Oil. I'd have to do a side-by-side test to see if its different at all once it dries, to me it doesn't seem different. If there is a difference that lasts beyond drying, I don't see it as a big enough one to want both a bottle of Snake Oil and Boomslang.

    Spicebush Swallowtail

Yum! For some reason, this reminds me a little of craft stores around Christmas. I know its not cinnamon in it, but it smells a little similar to the bags of potpourri, but not exactly like it-its got a bit of darkness to it. Its evil potpourri. The kind that lurks under your bed, waiting for you to walk by, so it can grab your ankles and devour you. At the 3 hour mark after application, its definately going fruity. I'm not so sure about it anymore (for the first few hours I was looking at buying a full bottle of it). Plumzilla has come to play and decided to take over the body of the Evil Potpourri. It was an epic battle, Evil Potpourri put up a good fight, but we're left with a potpourri smeared Plumzilla, emerging victorious and lounging in the remains of loser. End result, I love it at the start. As the hours go by it starts to morph into a fruity something, its still nice, but I don't want to roll around in a puddle of it anymore. It won't be a bottle purchase for me (I have a decant), but I'll probably hang onto the bit I have of it-the initial application is so fabulous.

    TKO

Oh my! Where has TKO been all my life? I was a little afraid of it, because of the lavender. I was afraid it would be floral. But its not! When I first put it on, its got a nice herbal lavender scent, with a little sweetness. As it dries, more sweetness comes out. I can't really discribe what I'm smelling, but its calming and comforting. Like a big pile of blankets on a cold night. Or a hot cup of cocoa after you been outside. Warm, sweet and snuggly. I wore it to bed last night, I don't think it helped me fall asleep faster. However, I didn't wake up nearly as many times as I normally do, and there weren't the really wierd dreams that have been plaguing me for the last couple of weeks. (At least not that I remember.) I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, but that's pretty normal for me. But this time, instead of being sleepy, I just wanted to snuggle under the covers. It was so warm and cozey in there. I still smelled of the TKO this morning, enough so that I just put a little more on. I try not to mix scents together until one is almost completely faded. (Next time, I might try a little on my wrist, where its easier to wash off. There's going to be a big bottle of this in my future. Probably several big bottles. Its a lovely scent, and it really did relax and calm the chaos that lives in my head.

I end up with a lovely musky, slightly spicy vanilla. It ends up being in the same family as Mme. Moriaty and Snake Oil on me. Only its very, very faint-my skin just gobbles it up. I have to huff pretty hard at my wrist to smell it at all. So, while its lovely and nice, its something that would need reapplying throughout the day and ends up drying too similar to other things that last much better, so it'll just be the decant for me.

Summer floral - gardens and sunshine!

It might be a little too tropical for what you're looking for, but Machu Picchu is a big pile of florals. Its got an aquatic/wetness and some fruit to it. Not exactly a summer flower garden, unless you're thinking a tropical garden. If you want to risk the jasmine, New Orleans might be a good one to try too. Its got some of the dirt smell that always makes me think of a garden. I haven't tried it, but based off of some reviews The Hanging Gardens sounds pretty close to what you're looking for.

First off, I'm not a fan of florals. But, the occasional one does work for me and doesn't give me a headache, so I try all the BPAL that comes my way. This is not one of the occasional good florals for me. When I first applied, it had a heavy "white" floral scent. (I'm not good at identifying florals, most smell like "blech" to me.) After a minute or two, there was an added savory scent to it, but it disappeared rather quickly. Two hours later, and its a floral aquatic (the floral bit has lightened up quite a bit). I was expecting that, but its quite unpleasant to me. Its a traditional perfumey scent to me, something that smells similar to things I catch other people wearing. Its not completely awful, just not special. I'll be passing along the imp I have of it, but that's what I expected to be doing.

    Bengal

I was a little leery of trying this. Spices sounded good, but honey usually turns horrible on me. But I was happily surprised! The honey blends nicely adding a sweetness, maybe its the addition of the skin musk that keeps it from going bad. I end up with a musky, sweet, slightly spicy blend. The spices are hovering in the background. I can tell that they're there, but its the sweet musk that is the star of this blend. Which isn't a surprise, my skin tends to eat up spices quickly. I don't like it enough to buy a bottle, its not going to be one that I grab very often. However, I will keep the imp of it that I have.

    Nostrum Remedium

I was pretty sure this wouldn't work on me, honey is a Note of Death for me. But I try everything that comes its way too, so I gave it a whirl. Instead of a wasabi scent, I got licorice/anise (which I'm not a fan of) with a bit of tea. As it started to dry, it became HONEY licorice. Then, like all the honey scents I've tried so far...it became moldy sickeningly sweet honey (with a side of licorice). Blech! Lucky for me, it washed off pretty easily. Overall it just does mix with my chemistry. Well, I suppose it does mix with my chemistry, just in a really bad way.

    Silver Phoenix

This is quite sweet and light on me. A little floral, without being overly floral. There's nothing in the scent that I can really identify as being the strongest note on me. It feels very girly and dainty. It doesn't have any metallic-ness to it. Its what I would imagine a fairly sophisticated 13 year old would wear. Its not something I would wear on a regular basis (I mostly stick to patchouli based stuff), so I'm glad I just have a decant of it. Its nice enough though, that I'll keep it and occasionally pull it out of the box. It works pretty well as a spring scent, and probably will be a good one when its really hot out and I don't want anything heavy on.

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

You should give Machu Picchu a try too. Its also a really tropical scent. (Sweet tropical fruits burst through deep, wet rainforest boughs, enormous steamy blossoms, over thin mountaintop breezes, mingled with the soft, rich golden scent of Peruvian amber.)

    Black Death

I've tried this a few times now, and finally ended up dousing myself heavily with it (normally I apply oils pretty sparingly). Clove normally amps a bit on me, here it stays nice. Its an earthy clove, with some fruity sweetness. Its not particularily dark and sinister on me, but its not light either. It comes across as a spicy slightly sweet unisex scent. There's no scorched or smokiness to be found on me (which is good). My skin eats it up pretty quickly though. By the end of the day, there's just a faint hint of it on my skin, I have to stick my nose right on my skin and breath in deep to get any hint of it. If it was longer lasting, I'd seriously consider getting a whole bottle (I bought a decant). There are too many other scents that smell fabulous and last all day on me for me to buy more of this. I really like it though, its different from everything else I have.

    The Black Temple Burlesque Troupe

When I first put this on, I got a lovely sexy dark chocolate. A bit feral and wild. As it dried the black musk came out more, and covered the chocolate. It became even dark and more wild. Exactly what I pictured the Black Temple Burlesque Troupe to be. Its a little too wild and dark for me, but with some aging and a little mellowing I think it could be completely fabulous. Unfortunately for me, after about 1 hour of wear, my arms started getting big welts on them. I remember this happening when I tried a tiny bit of it on my wrist earlier-to see if it warrented further testing. At the time, I thought it was because I had been doing a lot of testing. Turns out, its just this oil. What a sad day for me, I like the oil, I think it smells great, in time could smell amazing....but I just can't wear it.

    Theodosius, The Legerdemain

Initially, I was a little afraid of Theo...I didn't think he'd be a complete fail, but I didn't think he'd be good either. I'm not fond of jasmine, it usually reminds me of cloying commercial perfumes, I have no idea what the fougere is...but I was sure it wasn't good, and vanilla turns plastic on me over half the time. I actually put him on this morning, hoping to clear another slot in my imp/decant box because I ran out of room in there. Looks like his slot is going to remain full! To me, this is Cheshire Cat and vanilla. I love Cheshire Cat, and I love Theo! I'm going to have to do a side by side test to see if they're different enough to warrant a whole bottle of each. From a bit of a distance from my wrist, Theo is musky vanilla with some other unidentifiable stuff in it-it smells a touch masculine and a little sharp-but still creamy. With my nose plastered to my wrist, it was almost all Cheshire. I really like it, and I've been huffing my wrist ever since I put it on. Yippee!

    Dia de los Muertos

I forgot my list at home, so I don't know what year it is that I have. (I think its from '04, '05, or '06. Its in a cobalt bottle.) Based off the notes list, I was a little afraid of this. It sounded like there would be too many things going on all at once, and possibly some notes of death in it. However, I was really pleasantly surprised. Its such an interesting scent. Its not overpowering, and there's no inscense in it that I can detect. I'm not able to pick out individual notes. On me, its fairly sweet, a little waxy, a bit of spice, but not like any sort of candle I've ever smelled. Its so hard for me to try to describe it, its lovely. It alls blends together fantastically! I'm absolutely thrilled with this, and I'm so glad that I was gifted a bottle of this from a generous forum member. I never would have tried this on my own, but I love it. I've never been to a Dia de los Muertos party/event...but based off of pictures, I think it would smell a lot like this scent.

    La Vita Nuova

I'm one of the unfortunate rose ampers. This one sounded so lovely though, that I wanted to try anyway. I was given a tester of it, and I rather liked it. I got almost all rose out of it, but it was a nice light rose, with a touch of grapey sweetness. It feels like a spring scent to me, or a full-on summery one. I won't go searching for more of it, since I probably wouldn't grab it often, but it was very nice. Just not a love.

    Pickled Imp

Oh my! This is the most wonderful spiced vanilla deliciousness ever! I can't pick out the pine sap at all, but it might be what is giving this scent its depth. Its a sexy, warm, adult vanilla. I absolutely adore it. Its made it to the tippy top of my bottle wishlist!
