    Unveiled

Red bush tea, vanilla, white peach, golden amber, mandarin, lotus root, and myrrh. Wow, this is beautiful! It starts off as a very strong, slightly sweet musky resin. However, within a matter of seconds after initial application its intensity lessens and the peach's sweetness blooms a bit more. The final dry down is a gorgeous mixture of the white peach and golden amber with maybe a hint of myrrh. To me, this is a blend that is both playful and sexy -- I can see myself wearing this both out on a date or just hanging around with my friends. I'm definitely going to need at least one bottle of this!

    Clockwork Couture: Male

Oh baby, this is spicy! The clove seems to be going crazy on my skin. Unfortunately, nothing seems to have changed now that it is completely dry. I can detect a teeny tiny bit of patchouli and leather, but that's it. A very rough and ragged type of scent -- this would be absolutely amazing on a guy, but not-so-much on me. ETA: Yowzas! This is actually making my eyes water a bit.

    Clockwork Couture: Female

This started out as very sugary on my skin; the vanilla seemed to overpower everything else. As it was starting to dry down, the leather and amber began to peek through and start to mix with the vanilla. And then, much to my delight, the vanilla then slowly transformed from "OMG SUPER SUGARY!" to something a bit more delicate. I'm typically not a fan of vanilla or leather, but this is absolutely beautiful! I think I'm going to need to find a bottle.

    Ronin

Initially all I could smell was the honey and black pepper; which actually wasn't half bad. However, after a little bit the sandalwood came out to help round everything out. While I find this to be a nice scent, I don't think I like it enough to warrant purchasing a bottle.

    Prosperity of a Country

Warm creamy leather. Once completely dry, this becomes more dark and more masculine. I think this would smell absolutely *amazing* on a guy, but on me? Not so much.

    Pink Mood

When I first read the description for this blend, I was really excited because all the notes sounded amazing. I had never actually smelled star anise before, but I thought maybe it wouldn't interfere with everything else. Boy was I wrong! It started off smelling exactly like black jelly beans taste ... and I hate black jelly beans. I left it on hoping it would fade and all the pretty floral notes would come out, but that never happened.

Vetiver, why do you hate me so?! This blend could have been amazing ... damn my skin chemistry!

    Penis Admiration

Whoa! Lots and lots of lilac with maybe a hint of creaminess. As time goes by the lilac gets more and more creamy and maybe a bit little smokey. I think this blend is ridiculously pretty, but unfortunately my skin decided to eat it within the first 30 minutes.

    Okayaki

At first all I could smell was the bergamot and the snowball; which actually smelled pretty amazing. However, after a couple of minutes it began to develop into something a bit more spicy and musky. I actually think this is the first time that I liked a scent more so when it was wet rather then when it was dry.

    Octopus and Abalone Diver

A very fresh aquatic scent with maybe a hint of floral. Unfortunately, this turned into an instant headache, so I couldn't wait to see how it developed after a few hours.

    Needlework

This smells just like springtime to me -- fresh blooming flowers. The musk is faint, but still noticeable. However, the oolong tea and the ginger are pretty much nonexistent on my skin. As for its throw, this started out remarkable strong, but quickly calmed down (which I'm grateful for). Longevity seems to be a slight issue for me, but I think it would do really well in a scent locket. I think might try to find a partial of this rather than pick up a whole bottle.

    Lovers in a Carp Streamer

Upon initial application, I was hit with the smell of yummy minted, but tart red fruits. As it began to dry on my skin, the cedar decided to jump out and give it a bit more depth. After a few hours, the fruitiness seems to have disappeared and been replaced with a more fresh & herbal scent. Normally, I'm not one for the more herbal type of blends, but I actually find this particular one to be absolutely beautiful. Additionally, the longevity of this on my skin was amazing. I will definitely be picking up a bottle.

    Konseishin the Penis God

The champaca seems to be the most dominate note on my skin with the fir needle and myrrh right behind it. Unfortunately, I get no apple blossom. The balsam does come out a bit once dry, but all together this is a nice smokey pine blend. Strong and slightly masculine ... so this scent is definitely not for me.

    Kiss Amongst Discarded Tissues

Mmm .. this is amazing! Definitely a fruity floral on me since the blackberry and white gardenia seem to be doing the tango on my skin. The mandarin rind is definitely there as well, but its not as forth coming. Once completely dry, a soft muskiness comes out that helps to provide just a bit of depth. At the moment, I have a partial of this on its way to me, but I'll definitely be ordering an additional bottle in my next order.

    Harimise

Being still a relative newb to BPAL (started in Oct '09), I have to say that I've never come across something that smells like this. It's a fairly light scent, but the chestnuts and rice powder are clearly identifiable. Simple, but beautiful. Ironically (seeing as the whole Shunga line is based on Japanese erotic art), this blend actually makes me think of Japan despite having ever been there. Actually, I think if Japan could be bottled up into a perfume ... this would be it!

Beanman & Beanwoman Prepare to Attack the Vagina

Why hello there Orange Blossom! It's a pleasure to meet you. Oh and you too,Ylang Ylang! On my skin, this is a nice heady floral with just a hint of soft musk and amber. The coconut milk fails to make any type of appearance, but that's okay by me seeing as my skin hates anything dealing with coconut. I think this would be fabulous to wear during the summer when it is all hot and humid. I think I'll pick up a bottle for exactly that reason.

Autumn Moon of the Mirror Stand

For some reason this reminds me of walking into a Yankee Candle store; which is weird because there is no type of wax in the notes. That being said, I think I kind of like this blend! Honeyed fruits with just a hint of booze and a bit of roughness (the tobacco?). Additionally, I find the intensity and throw of this is absolutely amazing! I only dabbed a little bit on my wrist to test and now my whole bedroom smells gorgeous! That seals it: bottle worthy.

    Womb Furie

I've never tried Snake Oil before, so I was really unsure of what to expect with this blend. Upon instant application I was hit with the all too familiar baby powder scent, but that quickly dissipated into something slightly more sweet. Once completely dry, the baby powder scent had been replaced with a slightly sweet, but sexy musk. It's nice, but I'm not so sure I need a bottle.

    Two Loves

A beautiful soft low-key sweet floral. Just like Saint Foutin, this is blended so well that I can't pick out each note individually! Amazing. It's very faint on my skin, so I think this will work better in my scent locket.

    Smut

This is fantastic! Wet, it is a very sweet grape-ish type of booze which is amazingly intoxicating. As it dries, the booze begins to become a little more musky and the sweetness starts to calm down. I literally cannot stop huffing my wrist, it is just so amazing. A bottle is going into my cart this very second! ETA: The longer this is on my skin, the stronger it gets!

    Signior Dildo

A very light, soft floral with just a hint of vanilla. Even though I was hoping for a little bit stronger of a violet in this blend, I still really like it! It's definitely more of a girly-feminine type of scent which I can see myself wearing quite a lot once Spring finally gets here.

    Saint Foutin de Varailles

Upon instant application I'm hit with a beautiful mix of sweet wine and roses. It actually makes me think of going on a romantic date to a fancy restaurant where a dozen roses are the center piece on each table and a bottle of red wine has just been opened. Once completely dried it turns into an amazing blend; in fact, I can't readily pick out a single note. I'm definitely going to be needing a bottle of this.

    The Perfumed Garden

2010 Simply beautiful! Starting off as a very heavy floral that is very perfume-y, it quickly softens as it begins to dry. Jasmine is the front runner in this blend with the musk and sandalwood playing quietly in the background. This actually reminds me a lot of Emma: antique-ish perfume worn by the women of the Victorian era. Since I have a bottle of Emma, I don't think I'll be picking up a bottle of this.

    Olisbos

This actually reminds me of the scent that hits you when you walk into a furniture store: freshly polished end tables and leather couches. The olive oil seems to be hanging out in the back along with a very faint citrus-type of scent. I can't really see myself wearing this, but I think it would be awesome as a HFO.

    Luperci

2010 The balsam and oakmoss seem to overpower the other notes leaving this to smell like dirt scented aftershave. Luckily, my skin seemed to eat this within a matter of seconds otherwise I would have had to scrub it off.
