    The Reaper and the Flowers

This one fades out to a strong, deep floral, with rose and carnation as the two most noticeable notes. Unfortunately, it's a bit too artificial for me.

    The Temptation

The scent that this one leaves is soft, floral and lingering, but it fades so quickly I can't enjoy it for long! Maybe that's the whole point? Either way, it doesn't have much throw at all. Maybe my chemistry just doesn't amp it well.

    Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self-Similarity v1

The number came off, so I think it was either XIX or XVX. This is Dorian and Smut '06. This is sex on the tea table, sugar gone everywhere, lemon rind between your fingers... I'm sorry, the heat is doing things to me, what were we talking about?

    Man With Phallus Head

In the imp: My first impression? "This is the male version of Giant Vulva!" After facepalming a few times, I sniffed again and... skin musk, sugar and something very masculine. I'm in love. On my skin: Like a sharper version of Giant Vulva. It is strangely... clean. I can smell the honey and the musk, and... the black currant, I guess. This one is confusing. ...meh, it's called Man With Phallus Head. Anything or anyone attached to a phallus is going to be confusing. Hmm. Maybe I shouldn't write reviews at 3:30 AM.

    Milk Chocolate Buttercream

In the imp: This is the creamier version of Bliss. On my skin: I don't get much of a chocolate smell from this. It's like a faint whiff of cocoa, and then pure sugar. Which is fine by me, I do love my sugary scents! If you're looking for a version of Bliss that doesn't turn to plastic, give this a try.

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

In the imp: Sugar and flowers. On my skin: As this one reminds me of Frumious Bandersnatch, it's safe to say that the carnation is coming out strongly. I also detect a hint of orange blossom. This is a very sugary floral, and unfortunately, my skin drinks it. But it's a very sweet scent while it lasts!

    Dark Chocolate and Cherry

In the imp: Cloyingly sweet. On my skin: Honestly, during the dry-down, I wasn't sure whether I was going to like this one or not. Then it dries completely, and I can smell the chocolate and cherries very clearly. This is foody and dark and yummy. It smells exactly like the real thing.

    Advice on Gaiman scents please

Aziraphale: Extremely light. It's a nice, unisex scent, woodsy and musky and clean. Crowley: The first BPAL scent I tried, and it's still one of my favorites! The musk sounds scarier than it is, I promise. I could smell the leather, and the floral, and something like cedar. It's masculine, but a woman could easily wear it. This one, even though you wouldn't think it, is also a very clean scent. Mad Sweeney: If you're not a fan of booze, you will not like this scent at all. I have an imp of it and would wear it on certain occasions... but not often, because I smell like I've had a questionable meeting with someone in the back of an Irish pub. Mr. Nancy: This is foody in the best way possible. Sugar cookies and citrus. I agree with you completely on the vetiver comments. It's like... wow, you'd be so nice on someone else, but that someone is not me! And then I run from it as quickly as I can.

    Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self-Similarity v1

CCLXXX (280) I'm testing this for the very kind schackjj. In the imp: The first impression I get from this is a sugary floral with a hint of something a little darker at the edges. She mentioned smelling a leather note, and the more I sniff, the more I agree. It's not an overpowering amount, but just enough to top off the sweetness. On my skin: Mmmm. Cool, sugary lime, soft floral and a hint of leather. The dry-down is heavenly... just sniffing my wrist is making my mouth water! If I had to compare this to another scent, I'd say it's quite a bit like Mr. Nancy: sweet, citrusy, masculine without being manly. This is a wonderful scent for the warm season. Excuse me while I dab on the rest of my decant and imagine myself drinking an unfortunately nonexistent glass of limeade.

    Prurience

In the imp: Extremely strong vetiver. On my skin: Hm. Usually, vetiver and I don't get along, but in this... it doesn't make me flinch or recoil the way I usually do when catching a whiff of the stuff. This is the feminine take on a 'masculine' scent. And as others have mentioned, this does smell reminiscent of aged Snake Oil, with more of a bite and less of the spice. I actually really enjoy this one, which is surprising, because vetiver and I have a love/hate relationship. It didn't return my call the next day, and then it slit my tires. Yeah, I sort of love this scent. I'm stunned.

    Bliss

In the imp: ...chocolate. Chocolatey chocolate. This is brownie mix in oil form. On my skin: It still smells exactly like it did in the imp. As a chocolate lover, who would slather herself in it and wear it directly if I could? This makes me happy. I do get the hint of a plastic note that others talk about, but meh, I can live with the plastic if it means I get to smell like brownies.

    Sugar Moon 2008

This came as a swap frimp from the extremely generous sharybaby. In the imp: Strangely enough... this reminds me of the smell of the liquid that's used to make snow cones. You know, the stuff you want to drink straight from the bottle, because it's cherry-flavored and made of pure sweetness? On my skin: Sugar and honey. The sugar is strong, and maybe a bit sour, but not in a bad way. Now that it's drying, I can smell the violets... and blueberry? Interesting!

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

Aged Snake Oil reminded me of a drier Tombstone; where the T was a musky, warm vanilla, Snake Oil was a much more spicy vanilla. Of course Black Lace would be the best vanilla I've tried so far.

    Twilight

*points above* Was the girlfriend that left this behind. Glad I did, because this scent? Does not work on me. At all. In the imp: This smells overwhelmingly like the chlorine treatment we give our pool. That, and flowers. The honeysuckle is the strongest one I can detect. On my skin: It fades out to a nice honeysuckle, but it's still not for me at all. The floral is accompanied by something... sharp and unpleasant.

    #20 Love Oil

In the imp: Something buttery and light. On my skin: ...strangest combination of notes yet. It shifted from pure butter to almond and... wet dog and roses. Maybe this one isn't for me.

    Blood

In the imp: Cherry candy! Warm, dark, sweet cherry candy. On my skin: Cherry cola with hints of clove. There's a metallic tint, too... wearing these makes me feel like a very chic, feminine vampire.

    O

This one doesn't leave a huge impression on me. It smells like skin and sweat and honey, which is a great combination, but... I don't amp it at all. Hmm. On second thought, it also reminds me of wild flowers that bloom in the springtime. An interesting blend, that's for sure. Very understated.

    Mad Sweeney

In the imp: Booze! So much! BOOZE BOOZE BOOZE. The booziest booze to ever booze. In case I wasn't clear enough, this is boozey. On my skin: There is something golden about this scent. I smell like alcohol and forest and damn, it's a good combination. Normally, notes like this don't work on my skin, but this one has a dry-down that makes me think of an Irish pub. Smoky. Warm. And, you know. Booze.

    Bah!

GirlinDenial gave me a sniffie of this. I never would have thought to try it on my own, but I'm glad I got the chance to now. In the imp: Coffee and booze. On my skin: Still coffee, still booze! This is the lovescent of Starbucks and a liquor store. It smells like an alcoholic drink served with whipped cream and cinnamon. Mmm.

    Wilde

This reminded me of a dark tea room, warm and quiet, polished and refined. It's a gentleman's blend, no doubt about that! Slightly subdued, perfect for a man or woman that wants to smell sophisticated. Unfortunately, this was the first and only imp I've managed to spill... my desk, chair and clothes smelled like an Englishman for the rest of the night. I don't know, it makes me giggle to say 'my pants smelled like an Englishman.' Is that so wrong?

    Springtime scents

Eos! It's the absolute best floral I've tried so far. Soft and feminine and smells exactly like walking into a garden full of blooming flowers.
  22. *shudder* Serpent's Kiss. That scent smelled like venom, and every time I opened the imp to sniff, I nearly recoiled. ...get it, recoiled? Serpent? I'll provide my own rimshot, it's fine.

    Phantasm

This one was given as a gift to someone else, so it didn't stay around long, but I wouldn't mind having an imp of it myself! It smells like a very sugary glass of lemonade. The perfect scent for a hot, languid day where you don't want to do anything... besides sniff your wrist constantly, that is.

    Belladonna

In the bottle: Pine sap and the ethereal smell of a forest at night. On my skin: It fades out to something woodsy and herbal. It's a comforting scent, one I'd want to wrap up in like a blanket. I'm very glad to have a bottle of this!
  25. sirensea

    Badger

In the imp: ...dirt! Dirt and roots and earth. On my skin: Still very earthy. It reminds me of what the air smells like after a rain storm. Now that a few minutes have passed, it's faded to almost nothing, but I'm still very impressed with this blend for its realism and depth.
