  1. Signed up to BPAL Madness today, as I am obsessed with perfume oils, and after my first FULL MOON OPEN HOUSE / Will Call, I am HOOKED! I happily came away from Dark Delicacies with Snake Oil (surprise, right?), Tombstone, and Lyonesse last week, and now need more, More, MORE!

I am a big fan of Carnival Wax scents, namely Jack of Aces, Druglord, Deathtrap, Clowncake, Pearl, Dreabilly, & Pirate's Dream...in that order, I think. I also really like Sage Machado's "ONYX" & Arcana's "DEVILISH"...there are more, I am just in a bit of a rush.

I gravitate towards scents that have the following notes: Bourbon, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Tobacco, Cream, Wood (like Eagleswood) Coconut, Tonka, MUSK, Amber, Butter, Booze, Spice, Smoke, Patchouli (as long is not the strongest note), Pepper, Ash, Sugar (Burnt, Brown, Toasted et al), Sweet, Salt, Sex

I DO NOT LIKE: Pine, Balsam, Rose - Most Florals are a no go, Mint, Fruit, Citrus (unless it is SUPER LIGHT), "Green" notes or anything overly herbally, "Aquatic" notes. I will add to this list, so stay tuned.

I am sure there are things I need to add to the likes/not likes list, so until I do, if you need to ask some questions in order to assist me, shoot.

Thank you in advance for your time, efforts, PATIENCE, and HELP!!!

OMG, you are my scent twin! :wub2: I would also recommend O, Haunted, TKO, and Velvet and Morocco! Gosh there are hundreds more, but those are off the top of my head...

  2. Something in this oil is not playing nice with my skin. Maybe the wine? In the bottle , I do smell a grapey wine, and it's very pleasant, odd, I get none of the other notes. But when it hits my skin, it screeches a high pitched almost menthol type scent, that gives me a headache. At about an hour this settles down to a rather nice scent, but I have to stick my wrist up my nose to smell it. :huh?: I wonder if it will get any better for me if I hang on a few months. Odd, by the notes it should have rocked my world.

  3. I think my nose is brken! I don't get any lemon at all! What I get in the bottle, and wet is cinnamon and I'm a little frightened because cinnamon amps like the devil on me. After about 20 minutes, the spice backs off and the Patchouli steps up. I loves me some good Patch. and this is a very good one. About 45 minutes later a dark rich cocoa comes and sweetens the blend. At this point I can't pry my nose off my arm. It doesn't seem to have a lot of through on me, (dry skin), but I'd be willing to slather heavy. Perfection in a bottle, and only the second 13 that I've liked. :joy:

  4. Oh, Young Pine Saplings I so wanted to love you! I remember I loved my decant! True, I remember in the bottle and wet, I wasn't happy, but you dried so nicely. What happened?Maybe It's my wonky nose, or my wonky skin, but where did the fruit come from? Wet or dry, what I smell is FRUIT LOOPS? WTF? After about 20 minutes I get the milk that had fruit loops in it. So sad on this, but off to swaps you go! :(

  5. Not being a patchouli lover, I was surprized by how much I love this! I used some in the bath, then some on my arms and legs. The scent stayed with me all day, and my bathroom smelled divine! DH, who is pretty indifferent, asked what I had used in the bathroom and said it smelled really good! I don't get much pine, just lots of sweetened patchouli!

  6. I almost passed on this, the notes just didn't sound like me! But for the last year, My tastes have been morphing and I now find I'm loving the darker side! I can smell the Patchouli, but It's so well blended that It's not sour on me. I get alot of citrus, but the peel, not a sweet juice! The clove plays around the edges and lures me in closer. I can't wait til my hubs. is well and can smell again! Definately verry sexy! May have to get a back up before this goes away!

  7. First I just want to say the artwork on this is ADORABLE! Unfortunately it never got beyond really strong butterscotch and rum on me. Even before my dh screwed up his face, I knew that sadly this wasn't for me. I'll just find someone else to love it. ;)

  8. This smelled pretty enough in the decant, strongly vetiver, but tempered with something else. Once it hit my wrist though, it was all vetiver, skanky vetiver. After a few minutes I can tell there is something else sweetening it but it's too little, too late! DH says I smell like bugspray. Can't say I'll be wearing this, but i'm kinda glad, so far i've wanted all the other Metamorphosis decants i've tried!

  9. Bizarre! In the imp this was really sharp and astringent. I had this one listed as adistant maybe but I am pleasantly surprized! When I first applied, it was still very sharp (pepper?), but what wafted up was a beautiful....Maple? After about twenty minutes it was yummy, gorgeous coconut! Somehow it doesn't smell beachy on me at all, just hot! I asked dh what he thought, and got an indecent remark.

Anyway it's all win and I am running for a bottle of this!!!

  10. Alright. I gotta ask it ... how on Earth do you pronounce

    Harp of Cnoc I'Chosgair?

LOL! I've been wondering the same thing! I have a friend who is a celtic harpist, I'll ask him and if he can help, I'll post it here. I'm leaving for Ireland in two weeks, maybe I should take my bottle and run up to the first person I see," Hey, can you tell me.......

  11. Once again, Beth and co. seem to know me better then I know myself! I can just imagine the conversation;

" Here try this, I made it just for you " No, I don't like lavender " "aww come on, how many times do I have to tell you, TRUST ME" " oh ok, but you know I really hate, Hey this is NIICE"

In the Imp, lavender and lime juice, but strangely, I'm intrigued, not put off by the lavender. On me it starts to sweeten a bit, although I never smell Lilac per se. I would call it more gender neutral then masculine. I'd like to try this on my man, but doubt if he'd go for it, he's a patchouli man thru and thru!

Strangely, when I smell this, I picture Jason Isaacs as the oh so evil, but HOT Capt. Hook, in Peter Pan 2003.

  12. PA-POW....... Ahh yes, I knew this would be a keeper. If I didn't like the not, which I do, I would love It for what It means. PA-POW will forever be, In my mind at least, my Rosie scent. Two days after my bottle arrived, The end came for Rosie, my 13 year old dalmatian. Rosie had a somewhat difficult later life, and by the end had lost use of her back legs. I wore this on our last Vet. visit, It just seemed right

I also am happy to donate to rescue organizations because they are so needed now. I have a 6 month old puppy as a foster now waiting for his "forever home".

In the bottle, this is warm sunny grass, I smells golden to me, like an early summer day. It reminds me of playing with my puppy in the yard.

Wet, the grasses sharpin a bit, this is my least favorite phase, I begin to worry that this is NOT going to work, no matter how hard I try.

Ok, the softness is back, with just a hint of wild flowers! Very wearable, with a rather low throw.

I want to thank all involed in this, Ted, Beth, Dr. Horstmeyer the best vet ever! and S.C.G.R.Rescue for giving me the oppertunity to help another wonderful dog. :wub2:

  13. This perfectly invokes the spirit of autumn! In the bottle and first on my skin I get a vision of damp trampled leaves, and in the distance almost a bit of maple. It sweetens up a bit as it sits on my skin, but I still think it would work for guys as well. I love this and I will wear it alot this fall! This may be the one I take with me to Virginia in OCT! :wub2:

  14. LITHA 2009,

This was a no miss for me, I love every note listed. In the bottle, I don't get nearly as much honey as I expected. What I get is mainly oakmoss and herbs, maybe a little bit of copal.

Wet It starts to bloom. The flowers and herbs start to peek out, and the honey begins warming.

Dry It's all mostly honey, honey with flowers I can't really indentify.

Two hours later, It has settled down to a honey sweet resin blend that is just beautiful! :wub2:
