Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

Oh, that's so cool! I was looking at Gennivre, but I'd not even thought about Green Tree Viper-- thank you!

Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

I haven't the first idea what I'm going to wear! My wedding is May 22... yep, it's close. All my absolute favorites are Autumn scents (Jack is my #1), so I don't know. Any minty/tea scents that spring to mind, ladies? I love my mints, too. Maybe Unveiled, which is a little funny, considering I'm not going to wear one!

    Talvikuu

I have this and Snow Moon, and I see that comparison. I get a lot of slush, juniper, and very little pine. Aquatics are my friends, and I LOVE this one!

    Zombie Apocalypse

Wet, dry, doesn't matter- I get a red jelly doughnut. I could not be happier with this one! For once, a sweeter scent with sugar that doesn't go plastic on me! I bought two bottles unsniffed, and I'm trying to hunt down more.

    Trick or Treat

2009 version: In bottle: Creamed corn? Wet: Wow, this is delicious. The corn part fades, and the candy corn is love! Dry: Uh... what happened here? It's pure cinnamon. Crap. It's STUCK to my skin, and it's cinnamon. I tried to wait this one out, I really did, but it wasn't gonna happen. Well, I'm beginning to think I need to give the Trick or Treats a rest. Neither works for me.

    Creepy

In imp, and wet: APPLE After it dries down, the caramel smooths the apple out. There's still a ton of the apple in here, though (good thing I like it)! I get no butterscotch or coconut, which is just fine with me.

    Boo

I get no Sticky Pillowcase, either. This one waffles between delicious and plastic for five or ten minutes, then decided to be merciful and delicious. FINALLY. I tried Midway and some other sugar and milk blends before this one came along, and this is the first that works on me!

    Pomona

In imp: Nuts. Yum! Wet: Astringent apple. A hint of spice. As it dries, the astringency backs off, but for some reason, whatever nuts were in the imp decided to stay in there. This ends up a lighter, slightly harsher version of Fearful Pleasure on me, without the lasting power.

    Pumpkin V (2009)

Stupid skin! I LOVE this in the bottle, but on my skin, I amp the cinnamon like no one's business. I'll keep the half-bottle I have for my scent locket- I refuse to let my skin ruin this one for me!

    Suck It

In imp: A mix of cherry cough syrup and maraschino cherry juice. On skin: More maraschino, still some cough syrup. After awhile, this fades into a scent that reminds me of an old Avon lip gloss I had years ago, which isn't to say it's terrible, just not pleasant for me. My skin does NOT wear booze well.

    Bite Me

In the imp, all I get is almond. On my skin, it's almond and something quite like a floral. There's no caramel, which makes me a sad panda. Not for me.

    Agapē

I get vanilla cream and passion fruit out of this, mostly, and I couldn't be more pleased. It's a nice, light, tropical scent that lasts for-freaking-ever on me!

    Velvet Unicorn

Ugh. Plastic within 30 seconds of putting it on. In the bottle it was great- on me, I could have wrapped myself in old Saran Wrap.

    Candy Phoenix

This isn't at all like Sticky Pillowcase for me! It's much more "red" in scent, and has a heavier drydown scent than Velvet Unicorn. Pillowcase went more sugar candy, while this went the way of currant!

    Plastic Pink Flamingo

This worked for me where Velvet Unicorn did not. It was a lovely, soft pink marshmallow, with a bit of pink hard candy thrown in for good measure. It decided to play nice, and didn't even think of going plasticky on me!

    BPAL and fibromyalgia

Gecko- I'm an endo sufferer, too. I find that A Certain Slant of Light helps when I'm laying in a ball with my heating pad. At least it helps keep my spirits up!

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

I guess I fall somewhere in between. I don't use that much of an imp, but I do use more than a little dab. My skin eats up scent, as well, so even my most potent stuff is totally gone within 3-4 hours. With the ones that I buy to keep (i.e., the ones I know I love and thus have multiples of), I apply straight out of the bottle to my wrist. I love the reducer caps... I need more of those. I'm always living in fear of dumping out a favorite oil on my desk. For trying, I cleanly test with the little plastic stirrers, and sniff really quick, since it dissipates fast.

    Mandrake

A plant of true arcane power, mandrake has been used in a multitude of ways by witches, magicians and thaumaturgists for eons to many, many vastly different ends. Whole pieces are carried for protection, or are used in poppet magick. Ground herb can be utilized in spells for money, lust or defense. The lore of the mandrake does not limit it to magickal use. The root was chewed as a simple anasthesia, and it has been widely employed as a sleep drug. I will now content myself with dirt scents. I need to give them a rest! I had high hopes for Mandrake, but it was too rooty for me. I think I was looking for Graveyard Dirt, instead. The root in this amps a lot, and I'm left with root, and little dirt. Yeah, kinda like a dirty potato.

    Baneberry

Aww. Cough syrup that morphs into sour... lettuce? Bad skin! Bad! On a friend of mine, it smells like a vine of blackberries. Just luck of the draw, I guess.

    Pickled Imp

This is the only, only, only scent with cinnamon in it that I've found wearable. The vanilla calms the cinnamon down to a creamy spice, and the pine sap just hangs out over in the corner with the cloves. nomnomnom

    Inez

I will sneak into someone's room and steal more bottles of this. By all accounts, this should be terrible on me. Cedar, musk, amber, and any florals generally turn into muck on me. For some reason, this worked magnificently on me! The vanilla warms the carnation, and the amber behaves itself.

    Tombstone

What? There's vanilla in this? Where? I also got little to no sassafras after drydown. Sad, because cedar didn't play well with my skin. Oh well...

    Cockaigne

This is actually what I expected MiskU to smell like. In the imp, it was cake slathered in melted, sweet butter. On me, it was this gooey cake covered in honey and cream. On dry down, this does something similar to what MiskU did when wet... only this one stayed! Throw is incredible, and lasting power is awesome.

    Miskatonic University

In the imp, it's incredibly sweet, and I kinda wanted to drink it (but I restrained myself)! Once on, it's a lovely caramel/coffee scent... but wait... Damnit. On drydown, it goes all dusty/dusky, and there's no more sweetness left. Poo.

    Snake Oil

I got my first bottle of Snake Oil today. I went straight for the 5ml, based on reviews, and I'm so glad that I did. When I first put it on, something in it reminded me immediately of Death of Autumn, and my heart just sank. But I waited... Happily, about 5 minutes later, it smoothes out to what I had hoped DoA would, and the lovely vanilla/incense/spice comes out for me! *hugs bottle* I'm curious to see how this ages, because I love it now!
