    Hemlock

This reminds me of spruce or fir. It's very much an outdoorsy smell. Bright green with a sparkle of lemon. It makes me want to go work in the garden. Too bad it's not spring right now. It darkens a little with time, but still the evergreen/lemon mix. I love it. I know it's in honor of an evil little plant, but to me it's a very cheerful scent.

    Kumari Kandam

It starts off with the hothouse blooms. There's a steaminess that makes the description really fit. Then the clay and stone sneak in. Unfortunately, then it morphs into something awful on me as aquatics always do. My daughter's body chemistry, however, loves aquatics. She'll be getting this one.

    Thalia

Light, bubbly, sweet. This is a very youthful scent.

    Prague

A very light, sweet, cold, white floral. Finally a floral that doesn't go soapy on me, however it fades very quickly.

    Mandrake

I wouldn't have ordered this one, but I'm willing to give any frimp a try. It smells like dirt and dried up old roots. Not for me, but thanks for the, um, interesting experience.

    Eris

Initial application - all melon, which is not a good thing. Quickly other fruits come out to play, making it more complex. I especially smell berry. Then it morphs to mimosa. I have a mimosa tree, but never really payed attention to the scent. As soon as I smelled it in this perfume, however, I recognized it. The mimosa scent is captured perfectly. I don't detect the spices. This is a bit chaotic. The fruits and mimosa take turns coming to the forefront. Very interesting.

    Baghdad

Wonderful scent. I'm not getting any rose, which is good since rose goes soapy on me. My skin loves amber and I love spices. This may be the scent I've been looking for, for when I want to smell exotic. Arabian nights in a bottle.

    Katharina

At first this was deliciously fruity, full and round (the scent, not the fruit shape). I'm having trouble with peach and apricot scents where after ten minutes the fruit gets very musty smelling on me. This one is now brightening up a bit so I may be able to use the imp, no bottle though.

    Brisingamen

This is a darker amber than the others I have tried - I'm talking scent-wise, not color of the perfume. I'm such a fan of amber now I'd like it in all its shades. This is mostly amber, with the florals as a light backdrop.

    Verdandi

This is the most apple-y one I've tried so far. Unfortunately, it fades very quickly on me.

    Aelopile

This scent made me think of being stuck inside on a gray and blustery day, but that's fine because I'm in a grand house. I find an old library where there is a lot of wood that has seen years of lemon polish. There's a fire going and I curl up in a chair with a book and inhale the wood and lemon scent. This is a good scent to get cozy with. Warmth and wood and lemon. The cedar and amber linger the longest.

    Bastet

Oooh, another favorite! This is a deliciously sweet golden scent. It's warm but light as opposed to dark and deep. The spices are very light. If this proves to have good staying power, I'll be buying a bottle.

    Temple of Dreams

Oh my, initially very astringent herbal. Perhaps the way to help us sleep is to clear our sinuses so we can breathe better. Oxygen is good. Very soon it dries down to a good balance of lemon and herb. In spite of the springlike scent, I found it very relaxing. I'll have to try a couple more times to see if it is bottle-worthy.

    Blood Rose

Very rosey wine, or maybe it's winey rose. I had hoped to find a rose that worked for me, unfortunately this went so soapy on me I had to wash it off.

    Penitence

This is a very pure scent. It is a slightly sweet incense with a touch of bitterness. I tried it on Christmas Day and when we were singing We Three Kings I noticed that one verse says, "Myrrh is mine, a bitter perfume." Perhaps that's where the touch of bitterness came from. I found it to be a light and pleasant scent.

    Glasgow

Someone suggested that when ordering imps you order four with the notes you know you like and two just to try something new. I did that with Glasgow and I am glad that I did. When first applied it smells too bright, but as it dries down it really warms up. It's as if you are outdoors in the middle of a blackberry patch with the sun shining and warming the ripe berries. It smells fruity, but the heather keeps it from being too fruity if that makes sense. I'm delighted to have something different that works on me to wear when I'm in a different than normal mood.

    Wicked

The best way I can describe this is full, round, womanly. In a bit it gets a sharp coolness that adds character. It's still womanly, but a bit distant, unobtainable. Kind of like I'll let you see it and know you want it, but I'm in control here. After smelling this, which was a freebie thank you very much, I realize that the full-bodied character of Athens is from the myrrh, not the sweet wine as I thought. For me Athens wins out over Wicked for a bottle, but I'll definitely use this imp. If you like full-bodied, give them both a try.

    Athens

Definitely getting a bottle of this. It's very heady. I apply it at least a half hour before going out. The picture I get from this one is outside the city, looking at it but standing beside an old vat where they used to stomp on grapes to crush them. The oil has a bit of an age smell to it, in a good way. Like something that aged well. A grape smell without being too fruity. Sweet without being sticky. I started getting these perfumes as aromatherapy. Spinal pain causes me to breathe too shallowly. There's nothing like these wonderful smells to encourage deep breathing. Warning - breathing a heady scent too deeply too many times in a row can cause dizziness. :-) These scents cheer me up on their own, and the extra oxygen gives me more energy too.

    51

I was surprised how much I like this one. I keep going back to it. It absolutely makes me smile. If you picture breathy Irish songs wafting across the heather along with ghostly wisps, that's what 51 is to the desert. The amber and musk really tone down the fruit and flowers. It smells a bit odd, alien even, but very interesting. After a while I can really smell the desert dust. Well, I can go outside and smell that any time, so I have to reapply and get the interesting scents back. A delightful interpretation of Area 51.

    Morocco

Very nice. Spicy and sweet, exotic. I considered a bottle, but it's a little light and sweet and faded too quickly for me.

    Silk Road

Nice! Very complex. I keep getting different scents at different times of the day. It's spicy and oily and herby and flowery. I can't really pin it down because it keeps changing. It's on my maybe-a-bottle list.

    Bengal

Delicious spicy sweet scent. After an hour or so the honey gets way too strong on me. If you like honey, you'll probably love this one.

    Kyoto

Initially this has a delightful scent. Unfortunately, it goes horribly soapy. Luckily the soapy phase only lasts about half an hour then I get a wonderful, light cherry blossom scent.
  24. toomuch

    Mania

This is a light cheerful scent. I do smell the grapefruit, and strawberry, though the ingredients list strawberry leaf rather than fruit. I'll have to try it a couple more times to see if I want a bottle.

    Alecto

Great scent. This was a freebie. I never would have thought to order this based on its components. I think it would be really yummy on a man, though I'll be using this imp myself.
