Heart-Shaped Beanie on the Metro
DigitalCoyote replied to TheIceMaiden's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
Wet: All sweet but not playing well with my skin. Dry: Pride with sugar. What I think might be the orange blossom sneaking in at the end. A bit soapy on the left wrist but not so on the right. -
I was afraid of to try this one because of all the reviews about how manly other wearers found this. Wet: Leather. All leather. Nothing but the leather. Dry: Gardenia and...JASMINE WITH THE STEEL CHAIR. All my leather is gone in the ether.. Dry dry: ...and so is everything else after about an hour save the faintest ghost of flowers. I think this part hurt my feelings.

Wet: Very clove forward but not acrid or intense clove cigarette smell. Dry: This is warm woody carnations, vanilla, and soft clove. It's a lovely smell. The spice is very complimentary.
-
Wet: Tangy metal. Dry: Sweet metal? It's not the resin. It's almost foody--cherry coke? Soda syrup of some kind but not crazy sugary.

Caramel, Smoked Chilis & Black Vanilla
DigitalCoyote replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
Wet: smokey chili. Warm on the skin. Dry: smokey caramel. There's something oddly attractive about this. -
Wet: Freshly cracked jar of Vick's Vaporub. The force is with this one. Dry: This calms down in to a wearable aquatic. No sweet or flowery notes that I can pick out. It might be well suited for a masculine wearer.

Blueberries, Cream, & Cardamom
DigitalCoyote replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
Wet: Juicy blueberry. I hate blueberry but I'd give this blueberry a try. Dry: Blueberry and sweet cream with a hint of plastic toy on the end. -
The Midnight Reunion with His Lost Wife
DigitalCoyote replied to annemathematics's topic in Lupercalia
Wet: Pencil shavings Dry: Smoky wood. I have a firefighter friend to whom I can hand this off. He might enjoy it. -
Wet: I'm touched by how dead on the dead leaf note is: this is truly slightly wet dead orange and red leaves. Dry: I don't think the tea note in this had a chance on my skin. The leaf notes are gone and the spice notes are not only literally warming the skin but surprisingly manly. I could wear this but I think it would be far more intriguing on a guy.

Wet: Lime. Nothing else to smell here. Move along. Dry: There's that licorice-y Absinthe smell. Lime is lurking. Dry dry: This has taken a turn for Comet. Don't get me wrong, Comet reminds me of mom cleaning house when I was little but it doesn't make me feel sexy.

Wet: AMBER and cloves. Hrm. Dry: There was rose clearly for a hot minute but this has given way to flowery soap on my skin. As others have said, it's not unpleasant but this one may not be for me.
-
Wet: Wet/damp soil. It doesn't have an incense-y back or undertone like some of their dirt smells. I like it. Dry: Roses, dirt, and dry (not grassy) green. The roses fade away slowly, leaving the moss, leaves, and soil behind. This is definitely an atmospheric or mood setting smell.

Wet and dry, all I get is tropical flowers. I can't pick everything out but it's very pretty.

Wet: Sticky sweet mango candy and pink rose Dry: All the mango disappeared. =( The pink rose is still sweet on its own. I like these together. Just wish it stayed like it did wet longer on my skin.

Wet: Vaporub? Pine, eucalyptus, something. My skin is warmer wherever I put it. There's a berry/fruit sneaking out. Dry: Leather. That pine fruit thing...it's like Snow Bunny without sugar on top. If not that one, it's one of the winter snow smells.

Wet: Sweet honey out of the gate first, followed by leather and tobacco; incense brings up the rear. I smell like dessert in a hookah lounge booth but I'm not mad at it. This is a warm smell. Dry: L wrist - sweet incense and leather R wrist - honey, cinnamon, and smexy smexy leather over smoke I'm not sure if this is sexy campfire like @SophieCedar said (perfect for outdoor summer nights) or if this is the smell of impure thoughts, naughty touches, and questionable--but exciting--late night life choices....but I want to find out. I also need to smell this on a dude. #huffingmyself

Wet: Mint...minty toothpaste? Where did you come from. Dry: L wrist - tea and creamy vanilla R wrist - creamy vanilla and sandalwood

Gardenia, Tobacco Leaf & Oakmoss
DigitalCoyote replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
From the description, this is primarily gardenia with oakmoss (earthy) and tobacco leaf (earthy, woody). Wet - This reminds me of 273 (which has gardenia as one of the top notes with sandalwood and cedarwood and earthy vetiver as base notes). I need to find my bottle of June Gloom to compare with this because that one gave me the same feeling. Dry - L wrist - All gardenia. R wrist - Gardenia and green or light earth -
Wet: Sage. Dry: Sage, patchouli, and woody (spikenard?) incense. Someone's been doing magic in the forest or this outdoor hippie is super mossy.

Cotton Candy, Strawberry & Lime Zest
DigitalCoyote replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
Wet: Strawberry Sour Power. The Lab is killing me with these smells from my childhood. Dry: The citrus note didn't linger. All I've got is sugar with a whiff of strawberry now. I can barely smell it which means I can give someone diabetes six feet out of they pass within social distancing parameters. -
Wet: Brimstone. Hell-bound we are yes indeed-y. Dry: Is my skin broken? Somewhere on this diabolical journey we made a left turn at Albuquerque and it became sarsaparilla. I LOVE sarsaparilla but that's not what I was expecting based on everyone else's reviews. I'm assuming it's the rum and vanilla having a go. I like it. I'm gonna wear it every time I practice. Hopefully I need this and not help from the nearest crossroads to be a good bassist.

Got this in the mail from the lab yesterday. Wet: GREEEEEEEN EXPLOSION! Very aptly described. Dry: No real difference between wrists. This is absolutely an explosion of everything springtime. I'd liken it to going to a nursery after they've watered: it's cool, things are not sopping wet but the sweet of the green bits is still there and the flowers are fragrant. They're not overpowering or as overwhelming as they might be when it's hot and dry like they've been baking all day. Does that make sense? That's a lot of words to say I'm huffing myself.

Is "fuck me hair" a thing? If it is, any hair you put this on will become that. I want to roll in this. This instance of rose plays with the leather so well I'd say they're almost perfectly balanced. This tester, too, has been taken hostage by DigitalMom.

I smell expensive in this. I'm not one to dress up but I would to wear this somewhere. I wouldn't say it's sexy but it could definitely inspire someone to be. DigitalMom agrees. She has taken my tester hostage.

Like all things sweet, on me this is all sugar cloud at 50 paces. DigitalMom found this offputting at first--too sweet. After it dried down, she enjoyed the creamy vanilla coconut sandalwood goodness that happened. She has taken my tester hostage.
