    Antique Lace

Imp: Vanilla and something clean Wet: Ah! Vanilla and linen. That's what that was. I really hope that linen doesn't turn to laundry soap Drydown: Still soap... Man...I really wanted to love this. I'm all about vanilla, but the linens are going a creepy kind of soapy that overshadows the gorgeous vanilla that I know is back there. Oh well...Someday I will find my perfect vanilla.

    Titania

Imp: "Pretty" distilled and bottled. Peach, grape, pear and flowers! Wet: Love it. Fruity and soft flowers. No powder or soap. Drydown: Oh this is gorgeous. It's full and rounded out. Fruit and floral melding perfectly. I would wear this all the damned time. Overall: Oh God I have to have a bottle NOW. This is so right up my alley, especially with spring coming up. I love my fruity smells, and my floral smells and they are magic together. This is an amazing oil.

    The East

Imp: So soft and pretty. Like a countryside breeze with flowers on the wind Wet: Minty clean and green. Something sweet, too. Drydown: Give it a little time, and the redcurrent really leaves it's mark. It's not the dominant note, but does so much for the otherwise light and fluffy floral. This is great Overall: VERY happy with this. Needs a full day re-test, but this is great. Bottle is looking very likely After full day test: What full day? This stuff was gone after less than two hours and by the time it was settled in to the skin, it was nothing but currents. It's still a fine scent, I just don't need a bottle

    Violet Ray

Imp: Minty, musky purpleness Wet: Bright violets with a cool minty edge Drydown: It's bright and cheerful and purple alright. Overall: It's a great violet scent, but I can't see it doing something for me that Melisande doesn't already cover. Musky and sweet and worth a try, I just don't need a bottle.

    Dia

Amazingly generous swap frimp Imp: Bright white musk and coconut Wet: Those two plus a plus the odd, clean smell that I can only guess is tobacco flower. Shades of "The Lady on the Grey" on me Drydown: That musky, soapy scent from tobacco flower is really overwhelming everything else. The coconut is still there, but really just as an "oh by the way..." I want to like it thanks to the coconut, but the white musk and tobacco are just adding up to soap

Myrrh and I don't always get along, but there's enough good stuff in this that I have very high hopes Imp: Carnation and amber. Niiiiiice Wet: EEEEE! So nice! It's like femme-cologne. It's strong and warm....oh man please stay like this... Drydown: The cedar is a team player here, instead of turning the scent to pencil shavings. The vanilla musk is SO smooth. The Myrrh and the Amber give it a feeling like dusty gold. Carnation doesn't do its usual spicy song and dance, but instead brightens the whole scent up. Red sandalwood keeps the whole effect nice and warm Overall: Love. Must have. What I love most is how wearable it is. This is something I can put in to everyday rotation and it will fit in nicely year round.

Imp: Lots of lavender. Maybe some mint too Wet: Okay there's anise in this...that's alright. I'm sure I can handle it. I've eaten an entire bulb of fennel on my own this shouldn't eb a deal breaker ::USED OVERNIGHT:: Drydown: Well I had no reason to be afraid of the anise. It faded before I went to bed. By that point it was mostly mint and lavender. The lavender is a pretty dry kind, more like Pontia than the much wetter, sweeter lavender in Oneiroi. Problem was that it faded on my just as quickly as Pontia. But overall, the lavender mint combo was really quite nice. Overall: Very nice, but I think i like the sweeter, heavier Oneiroi for my sleepytime scent

    Bon Vivant

Imp: Sparkly strawberries Wet: I Strawberry Drydown: Very bubbly and bright. Strawberry is the dominant note, but the champagne is there. Just taking a back seat Overall: I like it! Bottle audition! Should be a lot of fun for spring and summer.

    White Chocolate and Sugared Violets

Imp: Not as sweet as I expected whit chocolate to be. Very pretty though! Wet: How sweet! I really had no expectations on what this was going to be, but I'm still surprised. Makes me feel a lot more charitable to violet scents. Drydown: I'm really not getting a chocolate-y feel, but the combination of notes is beautiful and really does it's own thing. VERY glad to have gotten a decant, but I'm not sure it's got an everyday appeal to merit hunting down a bottle. Still love it, though

    Et Lux Fuit

Imp: Sweet Wet: Bright and kinda fizzy! It's a fun scent so far. Drydown: Creamy and sweet and nice! I can really get all those yellow flowers. This is so pretty! Overall: I got a half imp of this as a generous frimp from a swap and I love it. It's so cute! I'll use this imp till the end.

    Lilium Inter Spinas

Imp: A big bouquet of flowers Wet: Green floral. A little powdery for me. Drydown: Took on a creamier tone, but there's still nothing in this that's really hooking me. It's a pleasant if bland floral

    Szepasszony

I'd love to find something watery that really works Imp: Watery and citrus-y Wet: Very clean. Not getting much in the way of florals Drydown: Phase 1 - something weird and maple/plastic is peeking out. Phase 2: Gah. Celery and maple sugar. Not cool.

    The Lady On The Grey

Imp: Beautifully blended scents. So clean Wet: Clean and resinous. Light and soft. Like "Ether" with more of a backbone. Drydown: Amber's not going powdery! Yay! Very clean and grey. I'm really not getting any kind of floral vibe. It just smells very...floaty, but solid. It morphs a lot though. Overall: Initial impressions are very good, but I can tell this would keep morphing depending on where I put it on my skin and how long it gets to stay on. I'll need to give this a full day test.

    Bewitched

Imp: Non-alcoholic Jagermeister? Wet: Blackberry and sage. Very dark Drydown: Smokey and green. Like a blackberry bush still in the ground, but burning sage next to it. Overall: Very interesting, but I know I'd never wear it. It's a neat little blend, though. It's dark and mysterious with a really beautiful blackberry note. And the herbal component makes it really deep. Well worth trying!

    Belle Époque

Imp: Lilly cologne? Wet: Opium smoke. That must have been the cologne-y edge. This femmed out out considerably on the trip to my skin. No flowers yet, but the opium and sandelwood are having a grand ol' time Drydown: Pretty soft for a sandalwood scent. Mostly the opium and sandalwood. Not getting much from the other notes. A little flat on me

Duel of the arm eating notes! Myrrh LOVES my skin but I don't really return the affection... Imp: Jasmine Wet: Jasmine. I like Jasmine. It smells like candy on me. How is it that Jasmine is beating out these heavy hitter notes. Drydown: I had no idea jasmine could put such a beatdown on other notes, but here it is. A jasmine single note. Overall: For my jasmine purposes, I have the much more complex Melisande already. But it was kinda neat to see Rose and Myrrh get knocked down by a teeny flower

    Marianne

I *love* Mme. Moriarity, and Marianne seems to be her more feminine counterpart Imp: Wow this is dark oil. Smokey and bright at the same time Wet: Nearly choking on patchouli smokiness, but that's normal for me. The red musk is out in force, and the mimosa and bergamont are keeping it from getting too carried away. Drydown: Round 1 - Okay, red musk and patchouli, you can calm down now. I know there are other notes in this. I can find the fun lotus root fizziness when I get right up to the skin, but that's tough to do when I've got that burnt patchouli note searing my nostrils Round 2 - MUSKMUSKMUSKMUSKPATCHOULI! Round 3 - Patchouli and Musk don't seem interested in letting anyone else in on the party. Overall: Oh well. I'm still glad I tried it before flying off the handle and just buying a bottle! Mme. Moriarity it is, then

    Eve

I refuse to give up on rose! Imp: All three notes present and accounted for (I never smell ylang-ylang) Wet: Honey sweet, definitely apple blossom and not just apple, and of course rose, which has yet to take over my arm Drydown: Sweet and floral, without the doom!rose that I get so often, and it's a really unique feeling apple. Overall: This scent is so sweet and innocent. Every time I sniff my wrist I expect a unicorn to run down a rainbow right next to me. All the notes are working together in a lovely little chord. I'm hanging on to the imp. I have a feeling I'm going to want it over the spring and summer or any time I'm around a baby or petting a puppy...

    Dragon's Milk

I've never tried anything with Dragon's Blood resin before. Let's see... Imp: Cherry with a lot of honey and vanilla Wet: Ditto Drydown: This is how I thought Dana O' Shee would smell. Very warm and comforting. They honeyed vanilla is right up my alley and the dragons blood resin is giving it a little zing. I rather like it. Overall: I'll keep this imp around to see how it goes. It's worth putting on a bottle audition.

    La Belle Dame Sans Merci

Imp: Rose....please be nice to me? Wet: Ooo! Wisteria! This is definitely a florist's floral, not a growing outside floral Drydown: Fine soap! That's not an insult. I smells like extremely expensive french soap that I will never be able to own a bar of. It's amazing how well the Wisteria is holding up to the rose. Overall: It's not unpleasent, but it really is just a bit too soapy for my tastes.

What do bottles and labels look like?

You're right! I've never noticed before, but there is definitely something different with the Alice label. Side by side with another GC label, you can see there is something on Alice that is not on the other GC labels. Thank you for confirming that I wasn't just trolling! My camera hasn't worked in months and the cell phone pics were so blurry that they were useless. I was nervous I was going to be accused of sending people on wild goose chases through their GC bottles. Have we discovered any more GC Easter Eggs? I think someone in that thread said that the Schrodinger's Cat label was unique?

    Nosferatu

Imp: Herbs, Earth and wine. This one might not be so scary Wet: Wine and herbs. Clean in a creepy kinda way. Drydown: More cool herbs in the dark red wine. There's also a hint of dirt, more like a memory of dirt if I may be so abstract. It's definitely a sweet herbal. Overall: This is not a scary scent. It's actually rather cool and pleasant. But in the end, I'm not sure I'll really wear it. I've got Bess for my boozy herbal fix
  23. CynicalPink

    Squirting Cucumber

Imp: Bring on the salad! Wet: It's a kinda salty cucumber. Drydown: Just what it says on the tin - Cucumber Overall: I really don't know what I was expecting to get out of this, but what I got was cucumber. It's a cool little scent, just not sure I need to hang on to it when i have so many other cool summer scents.
  24. CynicalPink

    Green Phoenix

Imp: Grass and lime Wet: Much nicer! Juicy papaya, mint, lime, and yes still some grass Drydown: Still mostly lime and grass, but the papaya, mint and tea are making it less of an allergy trigger Overall: It's nice! Very cool and soothing. This is going to be a great summer cookout scent
  25. CynicalPink

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

Imp: Iris and orange blossom Wet: The carnation spice is giving this a weird, artificial feel. Drydown: Quite heady. A bit old lady-ish. It's pretty much just iris right now with some sugar and cream
