Imp: Alcoholic apple. Hmm Wet: More amber standing up to the apple. Drydown: omg must not lick arm...This is the best fall/winter scent ever. Mulled cider! That's it! It smells like the mulled cider we used to get from the cider mill the town over from me. Overall: Must have big bottle. A good throw, a warm golden scent, and a depth that makes it exactly the kind of apple scent I wanted. I liked Poisoned Apple just fine but this has a depth and complexity on top of the apple that PA lacks. It's very rich and a must buy for me

Imp: The bad side of lavender. I like lavender but this is so medicinal Wet: BLARG! Lavender, why have you turned on me like this? I thought we were friends ... Drydown: Is there anise in this? That can't be lavender...Alright it's calming down now. The further away from my skin I get, the more of the citrus-y floral I can pick out. Get too close and it's this kind of scary plastic smell. At first I thought there was leather in this. And of course there's hella throw on this one... Overall: On drydown it's like a wet version of Onierois. The latter is a nice little imp I keep around for when I have a hard time getting to sleep. This never loses its lavender bite on me. It's just not working out...

    Poisoned Apple

In the Imp: A dusty old apple Wet: A crisp, juicy apple! What a switch. Drydown: I need to really *really* get my nose down in there to find the herby smell. I also don't know what the opium note smells like, but there's definitely a touch of something else in there with the clean apple. Its second phase kind of loses the apple but it stays nice. I think I'm smelling the opium now because the topnote is not herbal nor is it apple anymore. Still pleasant. Overall: Not a huge amount of throw, which I kind of regret. It could be a very crowd pleasing scent (unlike my beloved Mania, which sends my Aunt in to a grimmace). Doesn't last too long, either but it's nice while it's there! I got this as a frimp with a lab order containing Verdandi, another apple scent. The dustiness in the imp put me off at first but this is really quite nice. Will have to try out Verdandi before picking the top apple scent, but this is a very nice scent that's easy to like.

In the imp: Exactly what is says on the tin - Evil water. Most of my experience with the ocean being the Jersey Shore, I think I'm a pretty good candidate for imagining what evil water might smell like Wet: wtf fruit? Not that I mind! It's pretty nice. Just didn't expect that. I guess a Lovecraft sense ought to be weird, though Drydown: Okay I'm keeping this. It's weird! It smells good! I'm really having trouble coming up with a better way to describe it. The fruit calmed down quickly and I'm almost pulling out a floral...then again my skin loves florals so if it's there I'll find it. Overall: I'm definitely a fan and the imp is staying but I'm not sure I need a full bottle. It's a scent like nothing I would have ever thought to wear and it does that fun, distinctly BPAL thing of smelling a little different on different pulse points. I will decide about the bottle later. For now my nose is staying glued to my wrist

    Snake Oil

In the Imp: Sticky and sweet, with some spice. I dunno. This is a super hyped up oil. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Wet: Warms quickly in to more vanilla. One odd thing, though. The oil actually went on kinda sticky. Maybe it got cold in my mailbox? Dry down: Just not getting what I was looking for. I think I was hoping it might be sweeter. There's a spiciness to this oil that just isn't my style. It's by no means bad, I just don't think I'll ever wear it. Off to the swap pile to find a more loving home

    Arcana

In the Imp: Wow that's some citrus. Bit of powdery though. That the frankincense? Wet: Gah! Lemon Pledge...and a powder that's giving me a bit of a headache, to be honest... Dry: Yeah the frankincense is not showing up any time soon. I can't take the aggressive citrus without something to ground it. Overall: Definitely not for me, but someone who amps resin-y scents (which I don't. Same with musks) might find this pleasant

    Dana O'Shee

In the Imp: Cherry and oatmeal Wet: Cherry Almond Oatmeal Dry: This had a really quick drydown and when it was done the milk and honey showed up. It's smooth and warm and comforting. The cherry calmed down the quickest of the three starting scents and it's all but disappeared (if it was there to begin with and my nose wasn't making things up). This feels like a less spicy Alice, I guess because there's oatmeal instead of carnation. Love the milk and honey combo Overall: Totally a keeper, but I need to have some kind of throw-down battle-royal between this and Alice to see which gets the big bottle

    Schrodinger's Cat

In the Imp: Very citrus-y, but I think I can find the mellow chocolate Wet: Citrus without the cleaning solution-type bite. It's fun! I can find the lime, the grapefruit and something mellowing them out, but not sure if it's the chocolate. Dry: It's one of those magical morphing scents! Awesome! I can smell a mellow chocolate-y tone to the lime and tangerine (which has taken over the grapefruit), but I still can't quite get the peppermint. Overall: Exactly what I'd been looking for in a citrus scent. Bright and cheery without being cloying, enough subtle undertones to reel it in and keep it from smelling medicinal. The imps definitely a keeper, and it may hit my "full bottle" list in time for summer.

    Envy

My first review so let's see if I do this right. Got this imp in a swap, so I'm afraid I'm not so sure of how old it is. Imp: Herby with emphasis on mint. Very different. Nice! Wet: Grass Grass Grass Grass. No idea what happened here. It's not bad but I totally lost the herbs. Is there even grass in this? Also something lightly floral? A lot going on here and it's all green Dry: Still on the pleasant side of lawn clippings. A very spring/summer smell but with a hint of mint to give it bite. Overall: It really is a nice, clean scent (emphasis on clean). Just not for me. It's odd because I usually amp up mint but it's really getting buried by the grassy floral
