    Chimera

Imp: Smells like a cinnamon candy Wet: Still cinnamon-y goodness Drydown: Still cinnamon candy, but with a little something special. I have no idea what copal is, and I don't think I'm getting a honeysuckle note, but something is keeping me from calling it a cinnamon single note. Overall: It's fun! I'm not in love with it, but it's certainly a good time. I'd definitely recommend it for a cinnamon lover or anyone who really enjoys some spice

    Brisingamen

Imp: More herbs than amber Wet: Okay there it is! The amber I'd been hoping for Drydown: Amber is still the star of the show, but there are more players now. It still has the herbal edge that I guess comes from the myrtle. Once apple blossom rises there's a sweetness that keeps the amber from getting too pungent. Can't find the carnation (a note I *love*), but this is a very beautiful scent. Overall: If you really love amber, I bet you'd love this scent even more. It's an amber showcase. As for me, I'm a fan of amber so I'm all for this oil. Thing is, I don't really see myself wearing it much. Amber is really powerful and can get powdery, which is a recipe for sneezing with a lot of people I know. But if you're the type that likes a good, smooth amber, definitely give this a try

    Horreur Sympathique

The perfume of a hellbound soul, gleefully lost to iniquity: blood musk, golden honey, thick black wine, champagne grapes, tobacco flower, plum blossom, tonka bean, oakmoss, carnation, benzoin, opoponax, and sugar cane. Imp: ooo! Like a sweetened Bess, my all time favorite Wet: Dessert wine! I love complicated "So many notes have fun guessing what's what" scents! Drydown: Wine! Honey! Flowers! Musk! Sugar! Smoke! This has SO much going on at once and I really like it! Overall: This scent is like a mosh pit with all those notes trying to knock eachother out to get top note. A Boozy Bess. The grape notes are very strong, but there's so much more to it. It's a sweet, energetic scent that I really like. Not sure I need a bottle but this does get a big thumbs up

    Queen

Imp: Herbal is an understatement. I'm starting to fear there's vetiver. Wet: Okay that's could have been worse. Still hella herby, but it's sweetened up a bit...but then there's something anise like...I have NO idea what's going on here Drydown: What is this? Where the heck did these notes come from? Space? The thing is, it actually smells pretty good. I just have no clue what the notes are or what it's doing or where it's going. Overall: This is one kooky scent. The best thing I can come up with to describe it is, like, floral rootbeer, and that's not even close. If you happen to find yourself in possession of an imp, don't be scared off by the impsniff. Looking through the reviews before me, this is like the scent equivalent of a Rorschach test: Everyone sees (or smells) something different. As for me, it's pretty nice, but I'm not interested in a full bottle

    Slippery Poppy Tincture

Imp: A clean red. Something definitely plant based but I can't pin down any notes Wet: Oooo. Pretty red scent. Sort of apple-ish, though. I love apples and don't really know what a poppy smells like. Could be my brain mixing things up Drydown: Red, apple-y floral fun. It's a perky scent without being the least bit cloying. The honey just adds a touch of musk. Overall: What a fun scent! I totally wouldn't mind a full bottle of this! It's very pleasant with good throw. I used the word "perky" above because it's got a definite energy to it, but doesn't smell like something a 14 year old would wear like some of the sweeter scents do on me. I'm really fond of this. Keeping the imp, maybe a full bottle if I want to get myself a treat

    Delirium

Imp: Fruit and floral Wet: wtf peach? Oh wait that's apple. Drydown: And the slow creep of rose begins. BUT it's not eating my arm like so many other rose scents do. The apple is still hanging in there. Overall: For once, rose is actually playing nice with other notes. I'm not getting the lemon, but the apple is definitely blended in. It's actually quite nice and I wouldn't mind smelling like this for a few hours. But in the end the question is if I would wear it frequently and the answer to that is 'no.' I'm not even 25 yet and this scent seems young, even for me. It's bright, bubbly, and clean, just not my style.

    The Lion

Imp: Spicy and golden. I love a good amber note Wet: Mmmm. Still spicy without making me smell like a demonic ginger cookie Drydown: It's a very nice sunny scent. The amber is still the top note here, but there's a nice, clean dry grass smell underneath when I sniff close to the skin. It's pretty cool Overall: It's nice and all but I can't say I'm in love with it. Not really much my style. Someone who likes a warmer amber scent would get a lot of mileage out of this.

    Shadow Witch Orchid

Disclaimer: I have never actually been able to smell an orchid. I've tried, but the shop owners tend to get a little...grumpy... when someone is putting their nose on the more expensive flowers. So, operating in a vacuum, here we go Imp: Something...sour? Oh no Wet: Still on the Uh Oh side of "wtf is this smell" Literally one second after hitting the skin: Why hello there, pretty smell! Drydown: This is beautiful. A really unique, definitely not old lady style, floral. It's got a sugar sweetness to it that doesn't go syrupy. It think it smells more like an actual flower than most floral perfumes I smell. It's certainly not a cutesy scent, but it is sweet. I *really* like this. This would totally be a big bottle buy if I wasn't up to 9 big bottles already. Future list, it is, then

    Mag Mell

Imp: Citrus and grass Wet: It's doing some weird, Schrodinger's Cat thing at first - Citrus with some mellow undertones Drydown: Yeah all that complexity is right out the window. It's verbena single note by now and this is only a few minutes later. If I put my nose *right* up against my wrist I can get the faintest hint of grass...but it's totally killed by the verbena. Overall: All verbena all the time. Not my style. While I don't think it goes in to furniture polish territory, it's a skippable scent. I was so excited for all the complex notes, but they never appeared. No sage, no amber, no aquatics, no ginger. All things I love but they're totally drowned by the verbena. It's not offensive or anything, but if I want a perky summertime scent, I'll stick to Schrodinger's Cat.

    Lady Una

Imp: Blackberries, honey, and vanilla. I wish I could make a dessert with all those in it. Must not drink this, though Wet: Berries and something flower-y. Honey isn't kicking all the other notes' asses, so it's really balanced on my skin. Dry: Berry with the lightness of green tea moreso than the actual scent of it. Honey is still playing nice and not obliterating all the other notes. I'd definitely call this a berry-centric scent. Overall: I love it! It's a very ladylike scent with plenty of throw. It's likable enough that it won't send others running for the hills to get away, but it is memorable. A great, grown up lady scent for every day

    Miskatonic University

Imp: Nice whiskey. Like quality stuff, too. Not the bottom shelf "this is just getting mixed with coke anyway" stuff. Wet: Punch in the face of caramel and coffee. LOVE. Drydown: The drydown was very quick and mellowed out everything. It's really faint now (I don't put much on for tests), but I can still get a bit of the Irish coffee. Not getting the play-do scent others mentioned. ETA: Now that I've been doing more frequent all day wear and it's gotten some time one all my pulse points for long periods of time, I really get the dry oak cutting in to the Irish coffee. I think I'm also getting the "dusty" element, but on me it's just more of a bite then sneeze inducing dust. Overall: The imp is definitely a keeper. I'd like to see if the scent gets more staying power as it ages. As for right now, it smell wonderful and warm if just a bit drunk

    The Antikythera Mechanism

Imp: Rut roh. I smell something vetiver-esque... Wet: Oh hell no. I smell like my dad the 45 year smoker. Drydown: The wood scents have come out to play. Now I smell like a cheap cigar box. I'm not getting any vanilla and there's this weird rubber-y smell in the background. Overall: So sad! Wood scents can be great but on me they're doing something with the tobacco that is decidedly weird. Maybe this wouldn't be such a jarring scent on a guy, but as I lack one of those, I'm afraid it's off to the swap pile.

    Moon of the Terrible

Imp: Cold. Lavender is in there but it's staying in the background. A bit of fruity sweetness. Wet: It's amazing that this can actually *smell* cold! There's fruity floral over the lavender and it's gorgeous. With the other "snow" scents I've tried they went weird and maple, but this is nothing like them. Drydown: This is amazing. Fruit, flowers, and musk are all working together without any one note going over the other. This is going right to the top of my favorites. Overall: I'm so glad I tried the Lunacy scents at last. This is also one of the rare moments where I totally get such a theme-y scent's meaning. This is a cold scent without people. Just a landscape covered in cold and blue. I'm going to have to be very careful not to use this all up within a month

    Water Phoenix

Bottle: Oooooo....deep and aquatic. I love sniffing it but I'm a little nervous it'll end up manly Wet: Still very aquatic and beautiful. Not really masculine, either, which is nice Drydown: Heaven. It's blue and beautiful and just what I'd hoped. The Juniper Berry is SO pretty and the lavender isn't taking over like it has a tendency to do on my skin. There's a throw to it, but I'm unlikely to cause anyone running for the hills. It's so vibrant I can't even tell there's musk in it. It's just a gorgeous, grounded scent that I would bathe in if it wouldn't put me in bankruptcy. Glad I took the plunge and trusted the description to buy a bottle sans imp

    Death Cap

Disclaimer: Every "earthy" scent I've tried has made me smell either like a compost heap or a really aggressive cough drop. And on that note Imp: Well that's dirt all right. And coconut? Wet: No coconut, sadly, but something pine-y instead Drydown: I can't really pin down what's going on. There's dirt, but it's not a "dirty" smell. Smoothness from vanilla and maybe even chocolate. But then there's this little hint of something woodsy on the end of the sniff. It's really complex and warm without making me smell unwashed like other "earth" scents do. Overall: I keep waiting for something to make me hate this. This was a frimp and I would have NEVER bought it for myself. In fact, I would have avoided it at all costs. But it's staying...kinda nice? I have no idea what to make of it, but I'm definitely surprised how pleasant Death Cap is.

    Cobra Lily

Imp: Definite lily, with something syrup-y Wet: Still the sticky sweetness of the syrup but something green, too Drydown: Nice! I'm a fan of lily in general (one of my first imps was Black Lily) and this does something interesting with the cutesy flower. It's green and warm and very interesting. It's not the lily I'm used to getting in bouquets, more like something you would find in a rain forest. I'll totally hang on to the imp, but I'm not sure this is the final word on lily for me
  17. CynicalPink

    Jezebel

Imp: Mmmm honey and orange. Like candy Wet: OH SNAP there's rose in this, isn't there? GAH Drydown: Wow the old lady scent is eating my arm. Usually honey stands out strong for me, but it's been completely steamrolled by the rose. I'm already starting to got a headache. I'm afraid this one will not be sticking around

    Madrid

I have a lot of great memories of studying in Spain, so this is another one that I'm going to be charitable right off the bat Imp: Eh. Like Bordello but less sweet. Wet: Holy moly there's the spice! Definitely clove and not some unidentifiable spiciness. Red wine is there as well, but it's a very delicate red. Drydown: This has some awesome staying power and smells like mulled wine around Christmas. Really not sure I'm getting Spain, though. The cloves are nice and all and I can tell the other note is red wine, but I wish there was something else in here, like pepper to give it more bite. The wine is quite delicate too. Like a classy little Pinot rather than the punch in the face Rioja I was hoping for. Overall: Wow that paragraph makes it sound like I'm not a fan but I am. It's a great scent on its own though I'm not really getting the theme. It's very strong but pleasant. I'll maybe keep the imp, but I can't see getting a bottle.

    Thalia

In the Imp: Sweet and tangy Wet: Mmmm...plumeria... Drydown: Wow. This is so feminine and sweet. I love florals so this is heaven. At the rick of getting punny, this is a very cheerful scent that I feel like I could wear anywhere. Overall: LOVE it. This may have to be a big bottle some day

    Eris

Goddess of Strife and Discord, constant companion and sometime consort to Ares. She is a fickle, chaotic Goddess of Bedlam whose greatest passion is the sowing of dissention and turmoil. A suitably disjointed scent, bursting with gleeful mayhem: wet fruits and sharp mimosa with Martial spices and a deceptive flash of floral. Disclaimer: As a huge Greek Mythology nerd, I really want to like this. Also, I'm a fan of Mania, so a blend of fruit and weirdness works for me In the imp/Wet: ...Not to be crude, but this kinda smells like someone who sprayed air freshener all around the room to cover up the smell of a dirty diaper. It smells nice until right at the end of the sniff when you get the...less than appealing scent Drydown: Oh my gosh this is just not working. The dirty diaper scent is overpowering the fruit... off to the swap pile

    Zorya

Imp: Jasmine and nothing else. It's cool. I like jasmine Wet: Same Dry: Mmmm...This is sooo pretty. Very mature and respectable. The jasmine is still strong but not cloying. The white musk keeps it soft. A nice, evening floral for when I want to wear a big-girl scent Overall: Imp's a keeper, but I'm not sure a big bottle's in my future. I'll keep it around for interviews and stuff.

    Belle Vinu

Imp: Ooo! That's some sandalwood. Wet: Much more woody than I would have though. Still feminine, though. Not like a macho woodsy scent Drydown: It powders out a bit but in a nice way. It's a very soft scent in general, but I'm not quite getting the peach I was expecting, which is odd since fruity smells love my skin 1 Hour later: Well there's still no peach, but it's a very pretty, powdery sandalwood still Overall: I'm having a hard time with this one. I like it well enough and I'm not in a rush to scrub it off or anything, but these incense type smells usually aren't my thing. This one's light and fluffy enough to not make me feel like a dirty hippie, but I'm not exactly craving a big bottle. I'll hang on to the imp for now, but not sure if I'll keep it long term.
  23. CynicalPink

    The Phantom Wooer

Imp: Musty floral. Like Arkham with some lemon thrown in. That's cool. I like Arkham Wet: Still getting an Arkham vibe, but instead of woods, its citrus backing up the earthy florals. Drydown: The florals hung around for a little bit but now it's almost all lemon. Not offensive. Just very meh. Overall: Certainly not lighting my world on fire, but not a bad scent. I don't think I'm going to hang on to the imp since there are citrus scents that work much better on me.
  24. CynicalPink

    Seraglio

Imp: Ooo. Cherry almond. Like someone blended Bordello and Dana O'Shee! Wet: ROSE'D! It was immediate. The second this thing touches my skin it went from food-y to "my Great Aunt Dorothy's house" Drydown: All rose all the time. even after an hour it was still this cloying, powdery old lady rose. Stupid skin...this one had so many nice notes in it, too...Off to the swap pile, I guess
  25. CynicalPink

    Bordello

Imp: Old fashioned cherry licorice. Skeptical tester is skeptical Wet: Bit of an artificial cherry as soon as it goes on. Seconds later the plum and a kind of alcoholic smell I assume is the wine. Drydown: I'm loving this plum note! There's a lot going on here so it's really hard to pick out what I'm smelling on any given sniff. The overall effect is great! It's very deep with the plum sitting just on top of it all. After about 20 minutes on my skin I can finally get a bit of the amaretto when up close. Overall: The throw is great, the scent is full and beautiful, and you can play a fun game of "guess the note" on every wrist sniff.
