I could summarize how Juliet smells on me with a single word, clean. It smells like stepping out of a shower after using a luxurious body wash and sighing in contentment. The honeysuckle and pear are a majority of what I'm getting out of it, but they're so well balanced that it makes for a lovely scent. On me, it has a very long wear-time as I put it on about eighteen hours ago right before I went to sleep and it still wafts up towards me, though now it's a more powdery scent, but in a good way. Now it reminds me of the sort of perfume my mother loves to wear though she disagrees.

So, to be perfectly honest, I'm not quite sure what to make of this one. It smells like rich vanilla with a fruity/floral undertone that is just a tad too sweet for my personal tastes. I think I'm going to let it age for a while before trying it again.

Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)
LizzyLies replied to zillah37's topic in Carnaval Diabolique
Red musk, vanilla bean, pomegranate, patchouli leaf and wild plum. So, admittedly Mme. Moriarty was a blind bottle buy for me since there seemed to be so much positive feedback on it. And no, I was definitely not disappointed. In the bottle it's a smoky plum, wet it's a smoky vanilla, but once it's dry? I can't stop huffing at myself. I'm definitely getting red musk, vanilla, and smoky plum--and probably other scents I've yet to learn to identify. However! I shall keep myself from sputtering on about how much I love Mme. Moriarty and simply say that if you haven't tried it yet, you ought to. Secondly, I finally understand what it is to be unable to keep from huffing at yourself. To me, it's a comforting, sexy scent and I'm silently hitting myself on the head as I'll probably need to hoard at least one back-up bottle, possibly more. -
So my affair with O went a little like this; -whiff at Will Call- Holy green beans Batman! This smells like sex! -puts the bottle back- Which is almost funny as my mother-because we place our orders together-had ordered an imp of O. Anyways, imp came in, I put it on and she put it on. Following conversation ensued; Me; "This smells like sex. Like, in the aftermath." Mother; -whiffs and then proceeds to give me a relatively questioning look- "How would you know?" Anyways! I had high hopes--honestly--for O and well, perhaps if it ages things will get better--I can only hope. It smelled like some crazy flowers met and went a tad psycho with honey while vanilla played a minor role--at least on me it did. Admittedly, I washed it off pretty darned fast.

So admittedly, at one point in time, not too long ago there were count 'em three, yes three, bottles of Wilde chilling around my house. Why? Because my friend and I had been on the perfect man scent to gift for our guys. All it took was a whiff from the bottle at Will Call and I told her, "This is the one." It smells like the rakish Lord in my ideal romantic fantasy--but you totally didn't just read that--and now I need to wait for my boyfriend to get his bum back home so I can have him put this on. In other news, friend's boyfriend loved it, as did apparently his brother who asked him what he was wearing--since he liked it too. Ah Wilde, I love ye. I-personally-get the perfect amount of lavender with a touch of bergamot and thyme--along with the manly man part of the scent of course.

First, I'll start by saying that yes, this is a scent I'm hoarding. Secondly, I'll say that on me it smells like chrome, gardenias, and very faintly of tea. In all, I love Torture Queen very, very much and plan to get another bottle or three before the Carnival leaves.

On me, Dorian smells like I've been baking spiced sugar cookies and while I am normally not a foody scent person, there may very well be a bottle of Dorian in my next order as so far it's the one I can put up with.

In the bottle, I thought I'd like it. Wet, I thought it was alright, it reminded me of a gum I used to love when I was younger. However, dry? Dry, it does not agree with my skin at all which does make me rather sad since I planned on loving this one.

So, admittedly the first time I took a wiff of Egg Nogg Latte, I didn't like it. However, I do like it on. On me it's reminiscent of coffee with a very faint spiced background note. What's funnier yet is that this one actually has a decent throw on me compared to the other BPAL scents that I've tried so far. This is definitely going to be my 'holiday season with the family' scent.

I got this as a frimp with my latest order and while it isn't something that I'd pick out for myself, I love it and a bottle is definitely getting bought in the next order. A little goes a long way and I get a load of honey mixed with a scent I'd (personally) call herbal; ah, I'm getting myrrh now too. Where as I wouldn't use it for a day to day scent, I'd definitely wear it for winter days at home.
